Interesting to think about -- aside from Sir Alex during his formative years, were there any 'tactical' coaches Ronaldo played and enjoyed his time under? Ancelotti, Pirlo, Ole, Zidane are the man-management types who probably indulged him. Mourinho, ten Hag, Sarri, and Rangnick all had issues with him as you'd imagine wanted him to do certain things from a constructive perspective.
 
What in the seven hells. In what world is he expecting to get support for these statements? He’s just burning bridges while looking extremely bad.

All true. This is an obvious ploy to get out of United.

Personally I'm not fussed. I just don't want to see United paying him off. Give him a free transfer, its what he wants. However, no compensation. If he doesn't like those terms he can take the Winston Bogarde approach to fulfilling his contract.

Oh I know. But that interview looks like it’s being performed in a home to me, and in all likelihood Ronaldo’s himself. It’s a moot point really, my only issue is with those stating for a fact that there’s a fake illness when there’s zero proof of that

I believe that you are the one not thinking. The comparison while extremely silly was from Blatter and based on the idea that Ronaldo was denied a move. It's just a silly hyperbole which is a figure of speech, saying that you do not respect your manager is not a figure of speech.

Should United fans just not react to him pissing on the club and manager? People don't like him and are expressing that. It's that simple.

He had to stay as he gave us very little notice he wanted to go in the summer so didn't give us enough time to sell him and get a replacement. If he wasn't happy say at the end of last season.

Certainly comes across that way, though firing him could be messy legally. Imagine it may be similar to Aubamayang's situation at Arsenal where he trains alone and does interact with any of the players at Carrington until we sell him or terminate his contract by mutual consent.

There is zero point to this interview other than to defect the blame of his faltering powers onto anyone/anything other than himself. It's a desperate attempt to convince the world that he's not the one falling apart, it's the the club.

He tried to force a way out in the summer. Now he is forcing a way out in January and is using any means necessary.

So, where will he be forcing a move to in Jan? My understanding is that no other club is interested plus Sporting flopped in the CL.

I would love it if we are somehow legally allowed to suspend him without pay until february 1st, and terminate the contract from that date. Meaning he'll get 0 pounds from us until then - and that he'll be without a club for the rest of the season afterwards. Not sure how it would/could work - but we should at least try.

God, just tired of the circus. Get him out the door, close the chapter and we can move on. One of the greatest ever players, blah blah blah - now he's just a major irritation and sideshow from what we're actually trying to do as a team - to progress. The timing of his childish stunts shows the level of disregard he has for his teammates and the fans. Against Spurs - we're playing the best football in years - makes it all about him. We score a 93rd minute winner against Fulham, fans are elated - makes it all about him. In both situations his actions were unnecessary and badly timed.

Bye bye, Ronaldo.
 
Ronaldo didn't feature in the last two games because of some "illness" i presume the real reason is because of this known interview and suspended again?

Garnacho goal celebrations was interesting also. Against Sociedad he copied Ronaldos celebration and yesterday it was a copy of Messi holding up his shirt..
