We have not seen the interview yet, but the funny thing is he would have been worshiped had he attacked the Glazers and not badmouthing his colleagues and manager.

Perfect timing for this interview. Only reason this did not come out earlier is because he couldn't get his move in the summer.

I fully expect he intends to not be an United player come January. I hope we dock his salary and just outright refuse to include him in any football activities for the remainder of his contract.

We might just have the best teenager in the World in our hands, after recently producing a World class teenager in Greenwood. What other club can currently claim that?

“So below standard” my arse. The club also started major renovations to the training ground last summer (2021).
Don't even bother giving these fecking spoons the time of day, it's not worth it.

Morgan refusing to say when it was recorded is also quite telling. He just kept saying recently. I don't think it was all that recent.
Yeah tbh it doesn’t feel like it was recent. Ronaldo said in the transfer window he would be saying something after the window closes (to that effect). I feel it was around the start of the season.

It feels bad timing because he actually got a lot more game time recently. More than he would have expected.

It was after Spurs (within the last month)

Piers Morgan confirmed this morning Ronaldo does actually go in on the Glazers and the ownership model of the club. Piers just hasn’t revealed that part yet.

Remember there were some murmurings in the press from dressing room sources towards the end of last season, about Ronaldo being divisive? Roundly slagged off at the time I recall.

I wonder how Bruno and Dalot are going to handle this with having to participate in the WC with Ronaldo in the same side knowing he has has completely slaughtered the club publicly.

All the stuff that he has been pulling off the last few weeks and they are obviously still friends. Players will understand, in a way, other players’ perspectives. His point about the club not investing, not keeping pace with the times are all right. HOWEVER, his actions over the past weeks culminating with this interview is not acceptable and he should go, which is exactly what he wants. But one point has been proven right and there should be no further debate. He does not love United.

I’m surprised that Gary Neville has bit his tongue

Then again he might get more money by saying it in Qatar

His contract, right? Right?!
Unless the people drawing it up on United's side were complete idiots, there will certainly be termination clauses (Gross Misconduct and the like).

With Matt Judge overseeing it, I'm sure it would all have been absolutely watertight.

Oh wait...

We can call Morgan a turd and all, but he has come away with a coup. We are all hanging on every word.

Piers: Quick Ronaldo, can you come to London? wear the same suit, we need to record a bit about the Glazers!

We didn't terminate Greenwood's contract, so I'm really not sure there are grounds to terminate Ronaldo's

This could be blessings in disguise. Ronaldo has to go now. It will free up some wages and force Glazers to spend money on a striker. There is no excuses for Glazers not to spend as we are really short in the department.

Legally we can't terminate Greenwoods until he's found to be guilty.

Ronaldo wants to be a free agent, he has an agenda doing this, I think the larger issues is paying him off. Unless there's some clauses about misconduct or whatever.

Funny how Ronaldo thought this interview was going to vindicate him, when it's only confirming to the world how much of a bellend he really is.

Probably too far up himself to realise how much this has backfired, though.

So how much of wages should we fine him this time? Two weeks? A month?

Technically we can terminate it once a trial date is given. If the date of a potential trial is far off into the future then we can claim his contract is terminated under frustration of contract.

It frees up nothing. Unless the contract is terminated either mutually or for cause, United still owe Ronaldo 500k per week until at least June 2023.

Getting out of £32m would be nice, if he surrenders all wages he can go on a free IMO I guess the board need to decide what route to take.

I totally agree with you and it will be perfect if the club makes this short statement: "Cristiano Ronaldo is suspended until June 30th 2023."

PS: Regarding the club facilities Ronaldo is lying pretty badly, he left in 2009 and the training ground has been largely revamped during that time with new facilities and also a complete change of the grounds.
Probably wasn’t tailored specifically to The King’s requirements

Obviously this is what I meant the most likely scenario it will end up seeing how things are developing.

He was proved right (again) and probably is taking the view of many United-supporting media figures that they’d rather enjoy the vibe from Garnacho than give Ronaldo and Morgan oxygen.

Sounds like someone is struggling with the fact he's utter dog crap now and no longer the focul point of a club.

he's fallen off from his perch.

Some of the new quotes are absolutely shocking.

Ronaldo has always been a desperately weird fella.

Peterson, Piers… I mean, the guy must be the least online person on the planet in order to take those interview.

If he was willing to surrender that money, he would have been out this summer. His behaviour and decisions points to someone that is trying to be paid to leave.

I'd be so tempted to keep him until the end of his contract. We aren't going to find a buyer so stuff him. Let him rot in the reserves and fine him if he doesn't show up.

Roy Keane was in the wrong too but he genuinely cared albeit misguidedly.
Ronaldo just is upset about his image so stuff him

The Jacuzzi hasn’t been updated  you know a lot of this seems similar to the George Best disputes in the 70’s. Although he had some points (about the club not buying well and the reasons for the decline) the reality is he isn’t the player he was but his ego is even bigger. Time to just get rid and move on.
Best was absolutely spot on.

Whether having (say) Colin Todd and Alan Ball in place of Steve James and Alan Gowling would have prevented him sliding into chronic alcoholism is a bit of a stretch, however.
