I think all players who have competed at a reasonably high level empathize with Ronaldo. He’s coming to the end of his career and he’s fighting to stay on the field. Definitely some “grumpy old man” vibes. He feels compelled to burn down the house as he’s closing the door. But, under no circumstances should he be applauded for the way he has disrespected Ten Hag.
On the other hand, I am quite convinced that we are well behind Real Madrid, PSG, City, Bayern, Juventus, Chelsea, Liverpool and hell, probably Dortmund in sport science, qualities of the facility, diet and cafeteria, training, off field support, pre-game tactical analysis,etc..
This hurts us in recruitment, and it hurts us on the pitch. Ed and the Glazers ran United like an asset. You figure out the bare minimum you need to invest to stay semi competitive while maximizing revenue and milking the profits.
