Haven't watched it yet, but everyone on Reddit seems to be saying it was fairly lame/not very explosive/doesn't warrant kicking out of club.

As much as I want him kicked out as soon as possible it would also be quite funny if the club just went quiet and said nothing at all until he is knocked out of the world cup then made him return to Old Trafford to face the music. He will have to stew on it when he is probably hoping it will all get resolved while he is out there and he doesn`t have to come back. How he exits the club should be on the clubs terms.

I think there was a hint of that in the football doesn’t have to be revolutionised bit, but I think there must be more to it to stage an interview before a WC.
Ronaldo clearly prefers managers who give players more free reign. He referred to the likes of Ralf as revolutionists. I get what he means, some managers have greater attention to detail and stricter player roles in their system than others. Some are just good man managers.
I don't understand. He's spilling his guts in a 90 minute interview and you're still waiting for some hidden, previously unmentioned issue to vindicate throwing the manager under the bus. You think he'll do this just to hide it? He didn't even hide his speculative belief about the directors not believing him. His tension with the manager is an open book and all stems from gameday involvement. He has had 3 substitution related tantrums with 2 different managers this calendar year alone.
There is nothing more. In August he told us that he would tell us everything when he thought that he would find a taker. The reality is fairly simple in January 2022 his camp started to leak that he was upset about the potention non-CL cuts. Ronaldo thinks that he should be in the CL and didn't like losing money.

There’s a registration window in which Ronaldo can move clubs and play CL football in the spring. If he’s gonna get a move, it will need to be done now.

Agreed. Incredibly short sighted decision to sign him. Hopefully we will learn from this mistake.

I think the issue is that there are 2 schools of thought with football:
Traditionalists (for lack of a better word)
One that Ronaldo / Ole and then some well accomplished managers like Zidane + Ancelotti + Allegri + Mourinho would belong to
^ Ronaldo had the fortune of always playing for these types up until Rangnick. This is down to finding a system that works for great individual players to get results. Piers Morgan I think only see's football this way which is why he actually reckons Ronaldo works at Arsenal. In the most extreme cases, they don't see football played any other way (Ole when he famously said "it's not all about tactics but desire etc." or staunch Ronaldo defenders who point to his individual goals and refute team statistics).
These types view football where the best individual players on the pitch should win the games, it's up to the manager to find a solution that works for them. And certain managers have been of this ilk with success. But I think its a dying breed because of the more modern school of thought.
Revolutionists
Your tiki-taka Peps, or Gegenpress Klopps, Ten Hag's hybrid of the two etc.
These guys have some differences but a consistency in their systems is workrate + press. They don't believe in catering for an individual unless they make the collective better, i.e. the player fits in the system and not the other way round.
This type is more successful in the modern game for me - you take the previous CL Finalists and winners - it's Real yes, but then Liverpool/Chelsea and as much as I hate to say it, Pep has a great chance to win it for City this year.
Problem is, the traditionalists refuse to accept this concept, and when the GOAT happens to be a traditionalist narcassist, clashing with a revolutionist manager, it's not a surprise this is happening.

The stuff I've seen from Rooney is probably within the last 6 month.
Either way I still find it a bit odd from Rooney. It should be very easy for Rooney to just say nothing really. Like every other manager.

He's so insecure. And the fact that it's odd to him that Rooney criticised him though he came 6 months ago to pick up CR Junior is odd as well. Also, Piers Morgan really made most of this interview and lured Ronaldo to give him the answers he wanted. Don't blame him, Cristiano is 37 and an adult, should be smart enough to realise that.
None of it is fine. The very nature of it existing is not fine.
We know exactly why it’s been done, because United brought him for Ole-ball, but then had to fire Ole. We then brought in two managers that demand players press & close down passing lanes; something Ronaldo wouldn’t do at 27 so certainly doesn’t want to, or think he should have to at 37.
These appointments make him feel betrayed, and he thinks they are wrong, because he gives only a shit about himself. He doesn’t care if ETH is the best way forward for United, cause it’s not the best for him, and if it’s not the best for him, his own head tells him it’s not the best for United.
Didn't know he was right wing. His links with Peterson and his disdain towards progressive coaches says it all. He hates what the world is turning into, especially the football one.

We can’t offer Ronaldo a platform of being the star CF competing in the CL. He’s not interested in gracefully ageing into a squad player, nor is he accepting of CL football not being a given. Therefore, he wants out.
The problems this season are entirely of Ronaldo’s making. He didn’t get his move as nobody else wanted him, and then has paid for the lack of pre-season. He’s miles of the pace and off the rhythm of what ETH wants from his team. He can’t justify his place now.
Maybe we’re all just missing the joke. People have asked what he’s going to do after he retires but he’s spent 20 years setting up a career in comedy.
First there was Partridge, then there was Brent. Now we have Ronaldo.
Not to mention declaring himself ill for our last 2 games.
These two posts hit the nail on the head. Players like Ronaldo will always struggle under system oriented coaches because those systems are designed to maximize output of everyone rather than a single point of attack. Ronaldo has never played with these coaches so no wonder he doesn't like it. Had he been younger he may have been able to adapt but his declining abilities don't allow him to do it and wants to revert back to type. It gives him an easy excuse to shift the blame elsewhere rather than confront his own decline.

People think its just the pool or whatever. But when a player like Ronaldo who has been at Real and Juventus and won thing we havent in 20 years criticizes the technology and structure he is on to something. Why are we ok with it? Just because we don't like him? Forget the ETH stuff, Ronaldo will be gone. But we shouldn't forget the points where he is correct. The club is in shambles and far behind in every aspect...

MIchael Jordan’s part of this clip from about 0:33 was pretty solid. I’ve thought it for a while actually..especially after signing the likes of Sancho on long term contracts and handing him 350k per week. It doesn’t really motivate the work ethic to improve or be better. He’s already set for life.
