Its strange, Rio is acting like fanboys here and he was a great player in his own right, not some part timer who's ready to speak bollocks to defend someone who doesn't even care for him.

I just don’t understand the fecking sentimentality toward the cnut from anyone at Manchester United. I didn’t when we re-signed him. I know Fergie loves him to bits and all but he is a grade A prick who gave his best years to Madrid. This good ole boys’ club mentality from the old guard is gross and frankly embarrassing.

Its also funny to post an article of 2016 and not realise things change. There are alot of players who are close to another player or person over a year.

That was 6 years ago, things can change alot. Ronaldo and Rio were neighbours at United. Ronaldo at that time was defending himself, he will always defend himself, that is Ronaldo.

But Arnold ought to keep him in the club but not play him. That's a heavier penalty on Ronaldo with only a couple of years left in his legs -- than selling him or cancelling his contract. He will balk at that.

Then Arnold offers Ronald to pay himself out of the contract if he is so desperate to leave

What Rio is failing to realise is that perhaps the club aren't interested in nipping anything in the bud. If Ronaldo wants to make a fool of himself and ended up breaching his contract the off you go lad fill your boots. He's certainly not done anything to warrant anyone attempting to massage the most fragile ego in the world.

He said he wants to leave, no offer came, he misses preseason and lost his place. What do you want Ten Hag to tell him?
Rio's situation was totally different. He was told on his last game for the club that he was finished here. Those are two very different scenarios.

Yeah I’m sure they’ve become best mates over the last 6 years despite living in different cities/ countries and despite Ronaldo’s admission that they barely spoke at United.
The bolded part is exactly why I have trouble believing this bs about them being friends now, Ronaldo will say whatever he needs to serve his own purpose, I’m sure once this episode is over or if Rio says anything negative about him he’ll be back to his previous stance.

Tbh, you cannot tell from this that their relationship hasn't improved and it arguably has. Rio did say he played a part in Ronaldo joining United last year so he's had contacts with him.

I saw the video and Rio still claims that ETH is at fault for not communicating with Ronaldo which isn't factual. He is literally undermining the manager in favor of his mate while speculating.

I still reckon the summer debacle was driven by Mendes who bought into Ronaldos’s belief that he’s immortal and saw an easy route to one final signing-on fee.

It’s hard to see what the relationship between the two of them is now though. If Ronaldo’s really gone rogue you’d have though Mendes would have taken steps to tactfully dissociate himself from the latest antics; he’s still got to keep sweet with the clubs (and players) that provide him with work.

Not really. He holds all the cards, clubs want his players and if players know he’ll back them then it’ll encourage players to use him.

Just look at Mino as an example, he was exceptional at looking after his players, so players kept using him, regardless of what clubs thought of him they had to keep dealing with him.

He liked that Morgan would let him come out with any BS unchallenged even when contradicting his own answers within seconds. He’d have been made to look even more pathetic had he sat opposite a proper journalist rather than a professional shit stirrer.

Morgan got to find out how much Trump liked him as soon as he got out of his ass.
 
Stinks of rock and a hard place to me, he clearly wanted to go in the summer and the club didn't get the deal they wanted so he's now using brinksmanship to cut all ties and put upper management in an uncomfortable enough position to let him go on unfavorable terms (i.e., we'll likely cover the majority of his salary until his deal expires this summer) - he's massively disrespecting the club because he wants to have his cake and eat it, but it was completely predictable that he would throw his toys out of the pram if he didn't get everything his own way during his return here...
