Juventus is an ideal move for him at this stage of his career, he's such a fitness fanatic he'll probably get another 3 good seasons in Serie A, win 3 league medals and maybe even help them win a CL.

Big Dave
Double D - Bailly - Toby - Sandro
Matic
Fred - Pogba
Alexis
Cristiano - Lukaku

Come on Woody, you can make it happen.

Think Juve should get a top class center midfielder along Ronaldo.

they have an aging team, they need to start renewing it, 88 million for a 33 year old is incredible business, I think they would be mad not to do it.

It's not just any 33 year old though. We are talking about a player who is still constantly voted best in the world and regarded as on the all time greats.

They would be mad to sell.

He'd be a guaranteed a couple of league titles in Italy and have a decent chance at the champions league as well. It would be a great move for him at this stage.

A part of me hopes we go after him and move Sanchez to the right but it's not going to happen.

Or just move Sanchez to Madrid.

Or just move Sanchez to Madrid.

That would probably be the most sensible move we could make if we are interested. Sanchez + 50m. Not that they'd take it.

Think Ronnie would probably prefer to be the star in Italy and win 3 Scudettos on the trot. Nice weather, great food, lovely city. Would probably be the most elegant way of seeing out your career. No China/MLS retirement home.

I don´t understand what they mean with the price of january
According to this another article it exists a document signed(in january) with the price of 100 million , and in the beginning they thought about America, China or non-direct rivals. It does not specify if the Premier is excluded. Apparently he thought that such a low price it was a lack of respect seeing the prices of the market(although he had requested facilities to leave!!)

@carvajal
He may have requested something like that, but he probably had other ideas about possible destinations than the club. If the clause specifies China, MLS etc. then that's kind of a "feck you" to Ronaldo.

Cris would earn 30m € and FIAT would collaborate by offering to be the image of the brand

Pathetic how some fans have given up on Sanchez already, I'm confident he'll rip it up next year. The same posters will be banging on about good he is then. God football fans are fickle at times.

There are hardly a lot of possible clubs that could theoretically afford his wages anyway:

- PSG (they might want him, but probably not enough to get rid of Neymar/Mbappe which they would have to do due to FFP)
- Barcelona (self explanatory)
- Manchester United (perhaps, but there was talk that Mourinho didn't really part amicably with him at Real)
- Manchester City (very bad fit for Guardiola's high octane pressing game)

If the rumours are true, i have zero idea how Juventus plan to accommodate his wages. He still has a valid contract, no matter what the release clause says no one can force him to sign anywhere he doesn't want to.

You think it's pathetic to move from Mkhitaryan to Sanchez to Ronaldo. Alright then.

As a United fan, any sain one would want him back. The cost is BIG but even at 33 - he would be not only an inspiration but a great role model. I also think he would speed our evolution up as a group BUT ….this is all theatre. Decisions have already been made. Talks. This is all to create the buzz. Maybe he's already basically agreed with a club. Basically when's his piano playing video coming out man!!!

I think it's pathetic to dismiss a quality player that's been with us since January. I would love Ronaldo to come back, just find it odd and disappointing how fans nowadays give up on players so quickly.

In Portugal its official! Ronaldo is going to Juventus. Today Jorge Mendes was all day in Madrid gathered with Florentino Pérez. Our press gives the business 100% sure with Juventus! Ronaldo dont want to stay in Madrid!

Is 100 million really that big of a gamble for Juve? Prices are crazy nowadays anyway, they’ll continue to win the league and they’ll make up for the fee in other ways.

I think he'll do much better this season than he did for the 2nd half of last season. I've not given up on him. I still think it was crazy to give him the contract we gave him and I doubt he'll be a stellar player for us over the next 3 years meriting that contract.

With Ronaldo, I don't see how we could financially put together a package to sign him (if he would want to come) whilst also fixing some major issues in our team. However, if we were to send Sanchez the other way to lessen the fee and create a 350K weekly space in the wage budget, it might be doable.

Edit: What is the time limit on having faith in players in your view? A year? Two seasons? I'd say 90% had given up on Mkhi about 3 months into his 2nd season. (not saying Sanchez is a failure and a passenger mind, just wondering in general what you expect from fans)

Pretty smart move for everyone all round

Real effectively are getting back their fee after 9 years of world class service.
Juv are getting a superstar, will make the fee back in shirt sales and will bring attention back to Serie A, not seen since the early 00
And Ronaldo is joining a slower but still a elite league where he is still relevant, in which he will win several titles.

Edu Aguirre, a journalist that is friend of Cristiano is talking in el chiringuito about the meeting Florentino-J.A.Sánchez-Mendes.
Lately Aguirre is becoming a caricature, merely Cristiano's spokesman, but he has said this in several tweets:

Madrid has not insisted on the meeting about Cristiano´s continuity.
There is a 0.1% chance that he will continue.
Cristiano has told Mendes that he is tired of fighting, he does not want to continue with this war.
Cristiano does not want a farewell but he wants to do something nice.
Cristiano has accepted that he can not leave by the back door, because they would not let him leave

I think it will be a great deal. Real get rid of the player after getting all his prime and getting back the money. Cristiano gets a new challenge and lots of money. And Real can concentrate on Mbappe or whomsoever they could get their hands on.

I just can't seem to think any thing is going to happen this year again. It's just a paper talk like every year.

Portuguese press is saying he's given his 'yes' to Juve after the Mendes and Perez meeting too. Seems like it's happening.

pls no, the shirt sale myth rears its head again.

If he's not just renewing a contract and he's serious about moving we need to go all in. He's the best player in the world.

So, are you telling me that I should get my tissues ready?

@FabrizioRomano

Nicolas #Higuain, brother and agent of Gonzalo at @SkySport: "We are not in talks with Chelsea. He wants to respect his contract with Juventus, would be great to see Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo playing together again". #CFC #Juventus

CR just doesn't feel right in a Juventus shirt. CR in a zebra costume? I know he always made noises about moving from madrid every other fecking year to get a fatter contract, but looks like this is the season that perez said, "enough is enough.GTFO".
This is kinda like the 'boogie' cousins move to warriors lol. Very unexpected.
Man that 80 mil we got for him looks very cheap now. Should have probably sold him for double the amount.

This could be fun.

What's Serie A like these days? Do Juve and Napoli just beat everyone or is it competitive?

Nothing is ever easy with Ronaldo. A quick transfer to Juventus sounds strange.

Also strange if we are not after him.

Worst part is that some of our Caf Accountings are going to arrive soon and explain it in all boring details..

Some of the best numbers regarding ,shirts, market impact and image rights I've ever seen included Becks or Ronaldo losing money when they went to Real madrid.

Something like "You know, he was earning 8M at United and got 20M from image rights, here at Real Madrid he's earning 15M but the club got his image rights", implying a player goes from earning 28M to just 15M

I am not sure Serie A is slower than Liga. Liga has more talent in the top 3 clubs and on average is way more technical but when I see its games I do not see a faster pace than in Serie A. Actually some of the bottom table teams tend to be more difficult to play in Serie A.

Can you explain to me how it is a myth? I see this on her a lot of times but don’t really see any sources that say it is a myth

https://www.theguardian.com/football/the-set-pieces-blog/2016/aug/24/transfer-window-market-myths

But it goes beyond that, it's common sense, why do you think Adidas pay United 750M for the rights of their kits the next 10 years? Why do you think Real ask 100M and not 400?. If you could recoup a transfer fee only by selling shirts then manufacturers wouldn't throw money at you, and other clubs would ask four times the fee they're asking now, no one is gifting anything in football.

We would be fecking morons not to get involved and bring him back home if there's a chance.

In 5 years, Ronaldo will still be scoring more than Lukaku.
