Cristiano Ronaldo | Real confirm deal

Any team that pays for him the kind of prices being quoted are daft. Madrid is tailored to play to his strengths. No other team besides Madrid is structured that way especially Man United so this is a venture I hope we keep well clear off.

The way Juventus play with a compact midfield kind of suits an attacker like him to play freely, he can switch around the frontline exploiting weakness in the defense like he used to do at United between 2006-08. It infact suits him as well as Madrid if not better.

It makes sense for him to go to juventus. They are one club next year that could protect him from hard grind of the league. Napoli came close this season but next I predict juve to win the league handily, allowing Ronaldo to rest sufficiently. Not saying he'll only play CL games but he could well be rested for 10 to 15 league games. They could get a bunch of trophies over the next 2 or 3 seasons with him which makes the investment seem worthwhile.

The risk is simply too much. If for any reason he doesn't score at current rate (a change of clubs might be a catalyst for that), you are basically chucking 300m+ in the bin.

I think he'll be fine for another 4 years considering how well he takes care of himself and the slower tempo of the Italian league.

It doesn’t always work like that. We thought Vidic would do well at Inter but he was an utter mess there. Granted, Ronaldo is an entirely different beast but at his age decline can come very suddenly.

In theory, yes but can't be confident that would be the case. Regardless of how well he takes care of himself, he's 33 and has 600+ games under his belt. He could be an injury away from starting to look his age. Look at Zlatan?

I bet he can play at this level more 2 years, after that would be surprised if he won't drop his current level. I can't remember many players on the same positions after 35 to perform at top level teams. On a consistent basis I mean.

He will certainly need to be managed a bit more but the Italians usually do it well. If they can reduce his games to around 35-38 in league + CL and rest him for the cups, they can prolong his career. Even Zlatan was doing well until we had to play him twice a week during a busy period.

I think Juve would be a fantastic move for him.

At 33 I imagine he's losing some pace, so Italy would be a great new league for him.

Will be the main man upfront if Higuain is sold.

Get's a chance to win it all in three major leagues.

Could play there for 3/4 seasons then MLS.

The problem for Madrid is they already had that goalscoring problem this season with Ronaldo there which is why not replacing Morata was a big mistake. They finished 20 points below Barca and there’s hardly any talk of players coming into the team besides some 18 year olds prospects. I have no idea what Perez is doing.
Nothing. He simply is calling out Ronaldo's bluff by going public as he knows full well Juve can't spend this much on the player without Ronaldo taking a huge hit in terms of salary. Now that all cards are open Ronaldo is going to sign the contract that was already on the table for him before he decided to create another shitstorm. He's going nowhere, people need to stop being ridiculous.

I really think it would be a fantastic fit for him and a really good move for Juventus. From Ronaldo's perspective, he gets to play at a top club, conquer a different league, while hoping to still win the CL and Ballon d'Or, without really pushing himself to the limits. For Juventus, they bring a real star into their team with whom they are likely to have loads of success, while building around him for a few years.

The only question is whether they can afford it.

If Ronaldo wins the CL with Juventus next season, the GOAT debate is over. To win it with 3 different clubs in different leagues is amazing. And we (United) would look like mugs for not going for him. Still think this could be a very risky move for Juventus and Ronaldo.

Neymar is 26, Ronaldo is 33.
Don't think we'd offer him 80 mil a year either

He scored goals in other competition though, he still had a decent record even back then during his 'drought'
Sure enough. 5 years ago he'd have scored the same number in CL and 1 goal per game in the league. Now he has to pace himself. He hasn't played two good consecutive games first half of the season. Scoring 4 goals against some team from Cipro is all well and good, but we don't need that from him. We need his goals against Betis, Girona, Barcelona, Atheltic, Atletico, etc.

He is pacing himself throughout the season and for two seasons in a row he had an average first half of the season to be great in the second. That's clearly down to age

Fecking hell a Madrid fan carried for years by Cristiano shitting all over him, it's true you lot are truly the fecking worst.

I mean Rooney....thats a fecking decline....Ronaldo is still playing at the very highest level the likes of Neymar etc can only dream of. Get a grip.
 He's 33, he's not the player he was 5 years ago, age is clearly diminishing him. That's not shitting on him, that's evident to anyone who has watched him regularly for the last 9 years. He's still the best, sure. But for how long is the question. Would rather he goes early than late anyways. Don't want another Raul or Iker. Ultimately the club comes first

Ronaldo has certainly declined from his 60 goals a season but he's still putting up great numbers which not many players can match. Certainly not in the CL anyway, he's been top scorer in CL for 6 seasons in a row. That's unbelievable consistency and yet Madrid fans think they can replace him with Neymar?
No. We'd rather he stays, club made him a good offer, he thinks it's not enough and wants to leave. That's life. This is a good time to start a rebuild. We aren't winning shit next year whether he stays or not anyways, not with the current team, might as well start thinking about building a team that can open another cycle of dominance

The Goat debate wont be over. Pele is the Goat

If it ends up happening, extremely smart move by Perez. Let him go now, and let someone else deal with the fallout down the line.

Do you really think Ronaldo would want to be rested for 10 to 15 games in the league. He wants to play every game still mate.

I'm really curious, what makes you so confident of this? Not being sarcastic, genuinely interested if you know something we don't

Look through his posts, he knew nothing a month or so ago, but since then has just kept banging on about him coming in, but posted nothing whatsoever to back it up or give an idea why he keeps saying it.

Wow, BBC now reporting, so maybe this time he's actually leaving!
Hopefully Juve sells us Sandro to finance the deal

Really hope so! Sandro, Skriniar and a decent RW and i would call that a successful summer transfer window.
Ooh that would be a more than successful window.
But don't think RW is going to happen, we can all hope though

Ronaldo leaving makes sense because he is not at the right level of consistency to sustain a league campaign for Madrid when they have to compete with Barca. Ronaldo takes 1-2 months to get accustomed and then he is like a freight train that you can't get in the way of. He has also suffered from accumulation and looks better with his game time being managed so he can peak at the right time.

Moving to Italy to play for the top dog is a good move for him.

That's actually a great move for Juve, Ronaldo & Madrid. Makes too much sense.

Juventus have the money, easily win the league but need something extra to take them over the line in the Champions League. He's the man. Even if he declines massively, so what? They'll overpay him for a few years and still piss the league. It won't cripple them in anyway.

Agree, the slower pace of the league will help him too
Very good move for all parties I must say

It wouldn't really make sense for United to get him or for him to go to United.

PSG or Juve would make sense, don't think it's possible for him to go anywhere else.

It wouldn't make any less sense to come to United than the others. He actually has a connection here and we are one of only 3 or 4 clubs who can afford such a transaction.

100 million Euros for the goat.
Yeah but he's 33, no resale value and declines are very unpredictable, he's already noticeably lost a bit of his shine from a few years ago as it is.

You're one of the few clubs that can afford him but Ronaldo and Lukaku on the same pitch wouldn't really make much sense. It's not obvious at all how he'd fit in the team and there should be other priorities for the club imo.

For Juve or PSG things would be a lot more simple.

Would anyone have him back here? If so where would he play?

Sack Jose and make him player manager. the scenes of him subbing himself out to put on a suit jacket and pointing at his Tag Heuer watch to call time would add to his credentials as the goat. CR7 fanboys would clap in joy and fill Old trafford with tears.

But in all seriousness, we lost a lot of money getting rid of aging and unwanted players post fergie. If Ronaldo has one bad year, financially its going to cut into our transfer budget for years. It's not worth the risk.
