300 in fee and 60 gross per year for Neymar. Yes he would. The main reason he don't wanna pay Cristiano 30 is 'cause of his age. The offer we made goes beyond that with bonuses, and the bonuses are performance related. Personally i don't like the idea of owing a 35/36 years old upwards of €40m('20/'21, current deal). Would gladly give him 100 milion for the next season, and then a much reduced wage(no more than 20m) with heavy performance related bonuses for the last 3(say 20+40 gross)

I'd be sad if he leaves. I'd be livid if Flo caves

Don't think so. We're not gonna cave. And I don't think he will either, even if nobody offers him what he wants

4 league goals in the first 14 games. Last season was similar. Age is already having an impact

He scored 16 goals in 22 games for the first half of the season... People count just the league games because he was actually scoring in other competitions, he didn't magically forget to score in one competition while scoring in others. He did show signs of his age but it wasn't as bad as people say it was and it was massively highlighted due to Madrid's form at the time.

You're saying Perez won't cave but the reports about it says he already has which would make sense. Mbappe didn't happen last year because of his wages, with Ronaldo it has come to this because of his wages but for Neymar they won't have any problem paying him crazy money? If he goes to Madrid it's going to be 40 million a year to him, 80 million per year before tax. With a 300 million fee on top of it plus a few more million to his dad. And it's Neymar, not Ronaldo.

Ronaldo going would cause so many problems, it would severely weaken Madrid's position in the market, it would strengthen direct competition for the Champions League, it would hurt the dressing room, it would weaken Perez's position which is already hurt after the Lopetegui-Spain fiasco, it would hurt Madrid commercially.. that's besides everything that would happen on the pitch. You might disagree with what he'll be getting but the fact is it would be the much simpler option for Perez to give him what he's asking. Especially since finding another big star to replace him this summer isn't looking likely at all.

Neymar is 26, Ronaldo is 33.

Serie A is a happy place for veteran goalscorers; it’s the right place for him at this point. Fair play to him for wanting to conquer three separate leagues as part of his legacy, rather than staying in his comfort zone ala Messi.

I'm sure that possibly winning the Champions League with a third team in a third league is in his mind too.

It's like when Valentino Rossi went to Yamaha, despite Honda being faster at the time. It's something great sportsmen apparently do.

Would be brilliant to see him dominate a 3rd league. Should be able to get them a CL title too. Winning the CL in three different countries along with three different leagues. Beast.

Yep, that's it.

No, it's really not. By December we were out of the title race in the league. Scoring 44 goals is all well and good, but when only 20 of those actually matter...

He scored goals in other competition though, he still had a decent record even back then during his 'drought'

Fecking hell a Madrid fan carried for years by Cristiano shitting all over him, it's true you lot are truly the fecking worst.

I mean Rooney....thats a fecking decline....Ronaldo is still playing at the very highest level the likes of Neymar etc can only dream of. Get a grip.

Yeah and then 33 year old past it player on the decline is still twice as good. Scary stuff.
Neymar is a prick but he is a very good player, regarding his professional behaviour is another matter.

Sorry but I don't believe on the mantra if he retires the team will not beat anyone, actually I think he sometimes makes the other players look average because everyone wants to play for him, not to mention we have to play a 4x4x2 just to take the best out of him. Quite frankly I want him gone after 2020, don't like Messiahs on the team.

We played 4-3-3 often and it was the same. In general our players play better for the national team than they do for their clubs too. Which players looked worse? Other players look average because they are average, no portuguese player played worse in the World Cup than what they played throughout the year. Maybe Guedes.

Ronaldo goes and it means our best goalscorer is Andre Silva. You might be the only portuguese that doesn't want Ronaldo to be in Qatar in 2022. Worst case scenario he'll massively decline and still be our best goalscorer by a mile. We're not Germany or Brazil.

Neymar is 26, Ronaldo is 33.

I know. Madrid won't be paying 300 million for Ronaldo though.

My point is if Ronaldo can't play as a sole number 9 on a 4x3x3, trying to play a classic 4x4x2 while taking the best from him is actually making the rest of the team play worse, I know you don't agree.

I mean Peru plays good football and they have players like Carrillo,Advincula or Alberto Rodriguez. World beaters.

Japan plays much better than us, are they really that much better? Where did I say we were Germany or Brazil? So I see you want him on Qatar. Again. Portuguese Milla then.

Japan doesn’t play better than us at all, they had a great game vs Belgium but they were terrible defensively, they were naive and didn’t manage to control the game at all. They committed more players forward and looked threatening but they weren’t better. Peru doesn’t play better than us either... they played more attacking. We weren’t better in the 90s than we are now either.

We did play 4-3-3 with Ronaldo alone up top for a big part of this World Cup, that’s why I disagree that he doesn’t allow us to play in that formation. Even our 4-4-2 is hardly a classic 4-4-2 either, J.Mario usually comes to the middle with Ronaldo or Guedes going out wide. Santos did a good job, the team was built the right way. We just played against a very good team and lacked a bit of luck, it happens. We're off topic though.

I mean from a atractive point of view, not saying they are better from a competitive point of view.

The team who went to Euro 96 was better than any team we had since 2010. We failed France 98 because we had Artur Jorge managing us and that awfull French referee Mark Batta on Germany after the Barbosa goal when he showed the red card to Rui Costa. Do you really want to compare the technical standard we had with the current one?

During parts of the game. But I blame more Santos than him, I am all for Ronaldo untill 2020, just don't see no reason for him and for the NT to keep going untill 2022, I am not bashing him, just trying to bring normal sense to evaluate the situation. :)

I agree that we need a change now and that the Santos era is over, I just don't agree that Ronaldo needs to go for that to happen.

Eye! @EduAguirre7: "Christian feels like he's being kicked out of REAL MADRID. They don't want him.

Yep, leaks from the club make it seem they are not fussed. They have called his bluff by saying they are willing to negotiate.

For the sort of money involved, Real should be looking to move him on in my opinion.

They will not be getting much value from his supernova wages very soon. No athlete has ever beaten the aging process nor will they.

At 33, it’s a matter of time before he sees a significant dip in ability.

Ok then, so why don't you wait and see how he performs in 2020 to see if he can keep the same level? I don't want to see him reaching the point of being contested by the media or fans when he stops performing, and you know that day will come, he is human.

Well, he can leave. Many people from the capital dont wanna see him anymore after his words in the ucl finals.

Sky was reporting on the Rooney MLS move weeks before it was confirmed, so there might be truth to this one.

Don't really believe he truly wants to leave Madrid though.

He basically implied that after the Champions League Final.

He basically implied that after the Champions League Final.

He's implied that numerous times before. Although, granted, this time it feels different. After the CL final in which he was poor he immediately took the spotlight to talk about himself. I think people generally wrote it off as a "me me me" moment rather than genuine discontent.

He'll do well for Juve.

Probably wants to try and join the Seedorf club.

Ronaldo would be unreal at juve

Smart idea to recoup the money they spent on him just before he drops off completely.

They've basically had 8/9 season of high class forward play for free if that happens.

We should be in for him at this price!!! His brand value is number in the world. Yes his best years are behind him, but Cristiano is Cristiano, his work ethos to be number one will keep him there for the next few years.

He was just angry because he didn't score. Better to not believe in anything until the season starts.
Nothing to do with that.

Quite frankly I think he needs a new challenge for this stage, while Madrid needs to change on a new direction. Don't see any drama for both of them.

Ronaldo has certainly declined from his 60 goals a season but he's still putting up great numbers which not many players can match. Certainly not in the CL anyway, he's been top scorer in CL for 6 seasons in a row. That's unbelievable consistency and yet Madrid fans think they can replace him with Neymar? Not only he's going to cost twice-thrice as much as Ronaldo, his wages are also going to be in the region Ronaldo currently wants. There is not a single player in the world bar Messi perhaps who can score sheer volumes of goals that Ronaldo does. Neymar might replace half of Ronaldo's tally per season but who's going to chip in with other half? Benzema? Half-fit half-injured Bale?

They're in for a rude awakening if they think they can replace him with a single player. They'd need a top of the line LW and a CF to try to compensate for the impact of Ronaldo. It's going to cost a lot more to replace Ronaldo than to retain him and even if he's declining he's still performing at a very high level. To say he won't be good enough to sit on Madrid's bench in few years time is laughable but we shouldn't be surprised when it comes to Madrid fans I guess who were happy to bin Ronaldo halfway through last season for Eden Hazard...

To be honest, I don't think we can afford him and carrying on with fixing the significant issues with our team. Our starting line-up is needing two full backs, a top class centre back, a right sided attacker and a midfielder. We've signed a promising full back and a midfielder. We have an absolute mare with moving players on and Jose has spent half his customary transfer budget on two players. And we've got a 29 year old player on the decline taking in 350K a week.

Has averaged 50 goals a year during his 9 years at Madrid. If Juve can squeeze ~40-45 out of him over the next couple of years then they can win the CL. That's likely what they are banking on.

Any team that pays for him the kind of prices being quoted are daft. Madrid is tailored to play to his strengths. No other team besides Madrid is structured that way especially Man United so this is a venture I hope we keep well clear off.

When you buy one of the world's best players you gear your team and style of play to him, why the hell wouldn't you?

What do you think Juventus would do ? Play to his weaknesses ? They would simply surround him with the sort of players that yield the most success.

The problem for Madrid is they already had that goalscoring problem this season with Ronaldo there which is why not replacing Morata was a big mistake. They finished 20 points below Barca and there’s hardly any talk of players coming into the team besides some 18 year olds prospects. I have no idea what Perez is doing.

And so the day has come where the son has to move away from his foster home (we are his home hehe)

The risk is simply too much. If for any reason he doesn't score at current rate (a change of clubs might be a catalyst for that), you are basically chucking 300m+ in the bin.
