To each their own but I probably wouldn’t take him even if he wanted to come and play here for free.

Agreed.
I also think that Stuart Downing was a better footballer than Messi and Ronaldo wasn't anything special.

That’s how they manage to get the top players.
Shit load of money, sunshine, market the feck out of the new players, get them up on a big WWE style stage for a presentation then watch as the cash flows back in from marketing

I do remember the Bale Monkey Cage. Highly amusing.

Would love to see that. Much rather he went to Juve than PSG. Playing in a proper league with a proper club.

Can't see him actually leaving Real though.

Does anyone actually believe that a significant transfer will be involved if he moves? I can’t see anyone paying over £40m for him, and certainty nowhere near £100m due to his age and phenomenal wages.

Tuttosport :drool::drool::drool:

"NESTA TO JUVENTUS DONE DEAL" cover page the day before Nesta signed for Milan will never be forgotten :drool::drool:

I'd say something in the neighbourhood of £60-70m is certainely possible in the current market given Ronaldo's huge brand that will increase all major sponsorship revenue instantly and probably also help match day and TV money flowing in. The gamble is clearly on his footballing abilities.

80m would seem fair for a player who has averaged 50 goals a year over the past 5 years. If age wasn't a factor he would obviously go for at least twice that much.

This. There’s also his commercial value.

I feel like if He's going to end his career outside of Real Madrid, it'll be at MLS club or Manchester United. MLS if He feels like He's declining a lot ala Rooney (which doesn't seem to be the case) and still want to make money from playing football or Manchester United if He feels likes He's still up for challenges and want to milk as much as money and attention as He could. Imagine the hype if He returns, that itself will generate a lot of revenue for both him and the club.

But I honestly think He'd stay. It's the most logical choice, He can compete for the CL again next season after winning it three times in a row... Why would He move? They'd mostly likely pay his taxes anyway. Real Madrid doesn't have a proper replacement for him, He's still as crucial for the club as ever and He has all the power He needs.

He's way too big for the MLS, don't think that will ever happen. I'd love to see him in Italy though, that would be fun and it's usually a good move to prolong a career as much as possible.

The end of this World Cup almost feels like a pre retirement, his legacy has already been written and what happens from here on out won't really have any big impact on that. That's why he needs one final challenge for his career, going to PSG to try to win the Champions League or to one of the Milan clubs to try and help them climb back would be a lot more meaningful than staying at Madrid to keep doing what he's been doing.

Commercial value of players is overblown. Most of his commercial value will go in to his pocket, not the club he plays for.

The commercial value of the club would increase even more than it has in recent years if CR7 played here. We would therefore be able to recoup a significant part of the transfer and wages by way of expanded tier-one commercial deals.

Juve

Love being linked with big names yet everyone knows they aren’t paying Ronaldo money.

I dont think a club minds if they pay the moneu to ronaldo or to madrid they will look at the deal as a whole price
Transfer fee + Agents Fees + Wages etc
If he is actually that unhappy then he cold lower his wage demands accordingly to accomodate a deal but in truth i suspect he will be at Madrid next season at least as his contract runs till 2021
Wouldnt even be surprised to see him see that out before a couple of years in the states / china on monster wages and perhaps a huge bumper deal in the middle east for a year before the Qatar world cup

He is a massive marketing asset as well though. Can see big money for him just due to that even when he is past it.

He said he will play 8 more seasons. Probably 1 or 2 more in Madrid then PSG or some other European club and then LA.

Said it here before these recent news, he's off to Italy. Now it doesn't matter that it was confidencial anymore.

Like I have said many times already,Ronaldo IS returning to Utd in the next 3 weeks or so!
