Cristiano Ronaldo - Much Ado About Al Nassr

You claimed I constantly talked about UCL KO stages in a Messi vs Ronaldo debate. I challenged you to bring up the posts. You couldn't.

You told us that United had 37 points after 20 games last season. You were called out on another lie.

You then proceed to say that I said Ronaldo is the "only" reason for the change in form and that there were no other factors. A 3rd lie.

So yeah, if you have problems posting without lying, you might want to seek help.

Regarding Ronaldo, he's clearly the biggest factor since we built the entire offense around him and the team fell 4 spots and the goals dried up overnight, only for everything to become rosy again as soon as he left.

I don’t think he’s all there to be honest. Between the implication that you can’t set a team up to serve a single player if they were signed on near the deadline (despite 2 working eyes and all the stats indicating that the side was very much set up to serve CR7), and his random jibes at Messi he’s really flapping all over the place.

You've described yourself well mate. Because either that's all you've even doing or you're clueless about football. Ta ta

You just tried to claim that 37 goal contributions, many in the europa league or carabao Cup, in 57 games, is better tha 27 in 38, all in the Premier league or champions league. I'm sure you believe some of the stuff you're saying about Ronaldo but it's clear you're either trolling or your hatred has blinded you because no one else would try and make that claim

I've said that 37 goals and assists I'd much more productive than Ronaldo's 27. It's clear that your fanboyism has completely blinded you. That sounds like unhinged fanboyism.

The stats don't show a team set up for one player, if he had 40 expected goals and finished 18 you'd have a point, but 17 expected goals, that can't be a teams entire creative output

It's not more productive it's less, productivity is usually expressed as a ratio

He's very clearly not  I had to read that again. Not sure what point he thought he was making but there's plenty of those nonsensical takes here, interspersed with his randomly bringing in Messi (who is completely irrelevant on this dicussion) to the Ronaldo thread, just to vent.

Please do tell us how signing a player late in a transfer window means you can't make him the focal point of the attack:lol:

This thread is an absolute trainwreck  Guy is finished at being a footballer, we should be glad he left us, now move on please.

Is there a reason this thread is so active or is it just the usual juvenile fan boyism?

Please do tell us how signing a player late in a transfer window means you can't make him the focal point of the attack:lol:

You can make him your focal point, you can't build a team around him, building usually means adding pieces like transfers, you can't build a team around someone without adding players. Real Madrid built their attack around Ronaldo, Barcelona built their attack around Messi, but you can't build an attack around someone in the space of a month or two with no transfers

Building the play around him means making him a focal point. This isn't that complex. You can carry on trying to seem obtuse.

Orcourse not. Because he has about 90 less goals and assists then Messi. Why did we forget about assists now? Because your idol lags far behind Messi?

Because assists aren't considered as valuable as goals obviously. But even then, according to your he's the second most productive player in history?

No it doesn't building a team around someone, is signing players and bringing players through that support their style of play, we literally just put Ronaldo in at centre forward even though it isn't his natural position. Building an attack around him would have meant bringing in someone like benzema who'd do the hard running and target man stuff up front, giving ronaldo a free role off the left and switching to an approach that emphasised crossing to take advantage of his aerial ability. Instead we just put him into centre forward and that was it

Except that they are. So try again mate

Well Ronaldo has the most goals and assists in the champions league, so you must think he's the most productive champions league player? And earlier you said that champions league knockouts were what mattered when comparing Ronaldo to giggs right?

No ir doesn't. Building an attack around someone can happen in any team. Case in point what United did with a Ronaldo who couldn't produce as much as Rashford did. 27 goals and assists combined.

Who cares about the Champions League specifically? If I wanted to focus on a specific tournament I would pick the world cup.

But for their careers its 1144 to 1053. Let's see whether Ronaldo can catch up?

You did, you said giggs performances at 37 were better than Ronaldo's because of champions league knockout and league performances didn't matter

I'm afraid you've been hoisted by your own petard on this one

I literally didn't mate  You're talking about production. I pointed out that you got it wrong because you left out assists.

You went on a random bizarre tangent about the UCL. What on earth does the UCL have to do with who is a more productive player over their careers?

Try reading carefully. Try again.

You said giggs outperformed Ronaldo becuae the champions league knockouts are what matter. Ronaldo is the most productive player in the champions league knockouts by some distance, therefore using your own that's what matters

You do realise that saying Ronaldo was better was an opinion, don't you?
Giggs was dominating the highest stages - the UCL KO stages - while Ronaldo went missing in his. But you can keep trying to come up with a better reason.

Heres you literally calling the ucl ko stages the highest stages, disregarding league performances, and in these Ronaldo is uncontested the most productive player

I literally didn't. I compared one player's season to another. What does that have to do with who's more productive over their careers.

If that's rhe case, then the world cup is the only thing that matters. But neither Giggs (who never played in one) nor Ronaldo ever performed in the KO stages there.

Try again.

Highest stages of the UCL. Yes. Abd bigger than the league. But not bigger than league deciders. Never said that so stop with your 4th lie this thread.
But much smaller than the world cup. Or the secondary international tournaments.

Guess whos got the most goals and assists in world cup history? Take a wild guess

So until this tournament at the age of 35, you didn't really rate Messi all that much because he wasn't that productive in the world cup. But one good tournament has changed your opinion of him, because I don't remember that you ever said Messi hasn't produced on the highest stages pre wc 2022.

Also the wc is not the highest stage, the champions league is a far higher level of football. The idea that deschamps, or Southgate or any of the managers that routinely manage world cup winners or finalists etc would get a job at the top level of club football is a bit laughable

Sorry mate. This isn't a Messi thread. It's a Ronaldo thread. The world cup is the highest stage of world football despite the copium and tears of Ronaldo fanboys who are having trouble dealing with this world cup.

And Ronaldo has exactly zero world cup knockout stage goals and assists. Across five different tournaments. I suppose not everyone can hack it at the highest level, unlike the guy you repeatedly dragged into the discussion

Yeah I'm actually done with it, arguing with someone who debates in good faith can be interesting but not this

Theres a simple solution. It's called the ignore button. But I suspect you're too obsessed to press it. Hope I'm wrong. Waiting for you to put your actions where your mouth is and "be done with it".

Cristiano is possibly the greatest player to play for United, but he is in my eyes acted like an extremely desperate and arrogant person since the start of this season. He couldn't come with the terms that he is no longer the player he was. I don't consider him to be the reason we were worse last season, we just had a shitty atmosphere. But the way he acted in the end, just gives an indication that his ego couldn't accept the fate humbly. I am sure he will improve later on in Suadi and score many goals, but it doesn't change the fact that he has broken the hearts of United fans twice. Most people seem to forget the way his PR wrote the story during the end of his first stint.

And please do not, you fanboys, use his little kid to excuse for his entitled behaviour. You guys are worse than his haters.

I didn't say it was the sole reason for his behaviour but he did claim in his interview with Piers that he told the club during the summer his daughter was sick and that's why he wasn't coming back to preseason and they didn't believe him. Now if he's lying it's pretty disgusting to use the death of your child to publicly gain sympathy, but if its true, I can imagine that seriously souring your relationship with the club

Aside from "Cristiano is possibly the greatest player to play for United " the rest is pretty much spot on
