Yeah, no I'm fine with that.

“I was insulted for 90 minutes,” Mourinho said. “I do my work and nothing more. At the end I didn’t insult anyone, I just did the gesture that I wanted to hear them more. I wouldn’t do it again. But I came here as a professional that does his work and people insulted my family, this is why I reacted this way. I don’t want to think about it.”

Seen a couple of things from ITK accounts but could someone summarise where we’re at with this?

Is an announcement meant to be happening soon? Anything been said about the shirt number?

All thats really been said on Twitter is that the medical has been done, and the announcement will be 'very sooo', possibly tomorrow.
Havent really seen much about the squad number other than Cavani getting 21 with James leaving, leaving way for Ronaldo gettiog 7. Whether the PL will allow that, who knows.

Its a damn shame its looking like we wont be getting a CM this season. Ronaldo is only here for 2 years (3 if all goes well) and IMO we cant win the league withough a good CM this season, whohc would mean one of Ronaldo's 2 seasons is wasted in a sense.

Thanks

"The most intelligent player I have seen in my life". That's pretty high praise from Keane considering how many great players he played with.

Could not agree more.

Ronaldo won't stop until Keane replies.

Arnautovic changed his jersey from 27 to 7 after the season started, when the player wearing the #7 left, and PL allowed it.

It will be the same for Cavani shifting to #21, and Ronaldo getting the #7.

All I was watching during that clip was the excruciating pain it was causing Souness.

Do you think we'll sit on the official announcement until later on this evening?

Anyone else wondering what Ronaldo will make of this season’s soft touch refereeing, more violent than ever, version of the Premier League?
He's not going to like it one bit. Teams have taken the new rules as license to kill.

Because they were desperate to get him off their wage bill.

That's why they sold him for cheap. It's not like Sanchez deal where they had shit player on massive contract. He was top scorer in Serie A and still a goal machine.

I dont understand media folks who say we "didnt need him, doesnt make sense" etc. Our only strike options were Cavani and Martial. Cavani cant play 2 games in a week, and will be gone for stretches due to international duty/injuries, and Martial is horribly off form. We needed a proper #9.

We signed Zlatan when he was 35 and he was fine in the PL. Christiano will be the same. Yes he is a short-term signing, but so was Cavani or Thiago Silva, and didnt see any pushback from media on that one either.

Sounds like some people are scared.

Spreading transfer fees over multiple years (no matter how small the fee) is standard practice in football.

Yes but that's just accounting, not cash flow. Here the cash flow is also spread for 5 years.

Just noticed the Manchester United Instagram account has increased the amount of followers from ca 42m to 46m after Ronaldo was announced. The transfer pays for itself:D

Cashflow is also pretty standard, albeit maybe not over 5 years.

Yeah that's the point. They are paid in installments but not over 5 years. We pay 3 million per year for 5 years which is nothing.

The fact we're paying the fee over 5 installments actually gives me some hope of a midfielder being brought in.
