We haven’t really bought CBs in since Alex retired. Blind and Rojo were bought in as LBs and converted to CBs.

Do you think Ronny is getting nervous ahead of his debut?
Seriously. Do you think Ronny is getting nervous ahead of his debut? I know he's a confident lad but surely been away from the Premier League for 12 years must make him a bit nervous no matter who you are? Wanting to be as good as the Ronaldo we last saw at Old Trafford he doesn't want to disappoint anyone or let anyone down.. he doesn't want to tarnish his legacy and he knows expectations are high.. it's very risky from him and brave
I read he will start training tomorrow. You reckon he can remember the way to drive to the training ground!? He should do![]()
Ronaldo has more champions league titles than most clubs, including United, under his belt. He has 5 ballon d’or and is holder of a ridiculous amount of records. The guy has lived with being one of the most famous faces in the world and every aspect of his life and performances being scrutinised for years. I very much doubt he’s getting nervous about going out there and kicking ball.
Ronnies first real test!It doesn't matter this is his biggest test yet in his career imo. He will be nervous be he won't be crippled by it. I think players like him probably feed off of it and add live for this moment

I think that those Champions League finals when they said he wouldn't do it in such games or Euro 2016 final were bigger tests. It doesn't matter this is his biggest test yet in his career imo. It’s got nothing to do with our relationship with Juventus and you know it![]()
Completely forgot about the first twoAlthough Bailly was a beast in his first season.
Not really, when he joined Madrid as the most expensive player at the age of 24, surely that was the biggest test of his career. It doesn't matter this is his biggest test yet in his career imo. I may be exaggerating but if he wins the league with us nobody cant say he isnt the best in the world.
Anyway I'm usually nervous the whole week but this week I'm double or triple nervous, as if I'll be playing.
I expect him to start from the bench and the moment he steps in it will be absolutely electric. Hopefully I'll be able to find a decent stream.
Absolutely. I must admit I was always leaning towards Messi but his performances in CL knock outs last few years coupled with Ronaldo possibly winning the PL would settle the argument once and for all at least if you ask me.If at 36yrs old Ronaldo came back to the PL, helped United win a title or a CL, then for me that would completely destroy the GOAT argument. Messi has gone to the French League where he’d be expected to get 40, 50 goals, Ronaldo has gone back to what is considered the most physically demanding league in the world.
If he comes back and shows he can still destroy PL defences then there would no longer be an argument in my mind.
He's 100% starting, just doom mongering from The Sun.He returned to England early to be ready for Newcastle would be very surprised if he doesn't start!
Cashflow management, every bit helps.I always don't get it why clubs (such as United) can pay a player €450k a week and we need five €3m-a-year installments to pay Juventus €15m.
Insane.

I don't think he'll play the full 90 though, we need to give Cavani more minutes to get up to scratch.
take this with a pitch of salt.. it is Neil 'FATMAN' Custis but doesn't Neil Ashton who use to work at The Sun now work at Old Trafford? Maybe he has sources?
RON HOLD Cristiano Ronaldo’s second Man Utd debut could be delayed until Tuesday because of quarantine at his Cheshire mansion

He doesn’t know anything and has based it purely on the fact that he’s had to isolate. The next game is Young Boys away. No way are we giving him his return in an overseas away fixture. I don’t know if he’ll start, but he’ll play on Saturday. It’s Ronaldo for fecks sake.
Ole brought Varane out on to the pitch before the Leeds game, to get the crowd up. As if he’d deflate the entire OT atmosphere on Saturday by not naming Ronaldo in the squad.
This is the kind of out of control hyperbole that that ruins debates. Some of you are underestimating this move by Ronaldo late in his career. This is the moment of his career that could decide the Messi vs. Ronaldo debate once and for all. Messi went to a shit league. Nothing he does domestically in that country will have any meaning. If he does not win the CL for PSG he will be a huge failure and will be a joke. He will be known as the player who benefited playing under the umbrella of a perfect system in Barcelona, on a team that had Xavi and Iniesta. If Ronaldo succeeds in United, he will down as the greatest of all time. Every goal he scores for United will have weight. Every trophy he wins will be that much bigger. Having the guts to finish his career in the toughest and most competitive league in the world is something to be admired. Trust me, if Messi doesn't go to PSG, Ronaldo would not have pushed a move the EPL. Believe me, Ronaldo will be nervous on Saturday, but he will use those nerves to his favor.

“Life is good, but it can be better”

As United fans I feel we should be supporting our own. We are very lucky to have had Ronaldo play for us and in the Premier League. Not just once but twice!
you HAVE to be fair and give Ronaldo some carrot and credit here. If he succeeds at United and delivers major trophy he will end the GOAT debate once and for all. He's taking a massive risk coming to United in the most physically Demanding League in the World at 36 years old where most players are either retired or the legs go just like that. Messi isn't taking a big risk in comparison going to play in the farmers league in France where he can be rested in loads of games for the CL.
Coming back to United at 36 years old and winning the Premier League/CL bringing success to United for a second time after the club not winning any major trophies for almost 10 years is the stuff of legends/dreams people will
Be talking about for years ala Maradona at Napoli. Its statue worthy stuff.
No I don't know it. Every club tries to take another to the cleaners if it can. I am glad that united had finally caught up to this. We had been mugged long enough
Did you know there's other players at Utd as well?

It’s got nothing to do with our relationship with Juventus though. Not everything is a soap opera, dev.
I know you're a big fan but this post is a bit silly. Some of you are underestimating this move by Ronaldo late in his career. It's about capitalizing on a club's weakness for our own benefit. It's that simple. However as said on my initial post, Juve is not friend of ours. We're not talking about a club like Ajax or Sporting Lisbon here who had always treated us fairly and would therefore be beneficial for us to maintain a healthy relationship with them. Juventus has a reputation of playing dirty and poach other club's players on a free. They did that with us as well.
