I've seen many many pages of debate about how the Glazers spend plenty on the club for transfers, excuses for their dividends and not reinvesting.
I think one of the most common things I've heard is along the lines of "when there's a real top player they always go out and spend. Like w Pogba and Maguire and Sancho. They spend plenty ".

You are aware that people can hold multiple thoughts at once, yeah. Have you not seen the incandescent rage that most fans have with the owners? But a lot of fans can also believe that this bloke needs to go. Both things can exist concurrently.
I mean, part of it is very true. Ronaldo is a problem in our squad. 1 among many, but the biggest profile problem. You can't have a player like him who wants out, skips the entire pre season, and then the club just refuses to get rid. We have to send a message to the group, and we have to have a group who want to play here and want the club to succeed. Ronaldo isn't one of those. He should go. He is also 37 and totally unsuited to the manager on the pitch. So that's also an issue.
Also, it's not a coincidence our complete collapse since he's been associated with us. Last season, or the drastic change this summer from before he joined up with the squad and since he's been back. He's a toxic influence on the squad for whatever reason.

He saw last year what the squad was made of. Then he's seen the failure to recruit anything like what we need in the summer. He knows this season will end without a trophy and he doesn't want to be part of it. It's best for both parties if he leaves, his standards and expectations from his teammates probably hurts their feelings and affects their confidence. Hopefully he can find a better fit that can make the deal happen.

Ronaldo is a bit of a drama queen but he's a professional too, that cares about his record and winning. If he plays he will give it his all, he was not the issue yesterday.
We should have sold him this season, before even ETH even took charge. We are on a rebuild and you don't have Ronaldo in a side that requires this big of a rebuild. We made a mess of this, typical of this club of course.

He's a professional yes but if he's constantly out there complaining and doesn't want to be there and falling out with others in the squad, it doesn't help. He only cares about himself and his own record. If the team goes through a rough patch, he will instantly look to separate himself from it. That's incredibly toxic. You can't have that in our situation. We need a team as 1, not individuals who think they're above it.
He’s zoomed in every time we let one in - with a “and don’t get this”-look and shaking his head in disbelief. Like his not part of the team. That’s a disgrace. All people who have been part of a Team knows that people who act like that is the reason the team doesn’t work. If that’s what his planning to do this all season - just don’t let him leave - kick him out!

Sounds like we’ve got our very own version of Captain America: Civil War going on at the club where the board or those thinking simply from a commercial standpoint want Ronaldo because of what he has in the past brought off the pitch whilst those in the footballing/on pitch side want him out as he’s destroying things within the squad.
