Well, there are a lot of lies and false statements here. First thing first, Ronaldo doesn't love United. I know that's a difficult pill to swallow for his die-hard fans, but Ronaldo loves Ronaldo. Which is fine. But don't feed me the "he loves the club" shite. He doesn't. There's no special connection there. His best and most productive years were at another club. if anything, that's where his love lies.
And as for the bold, I can only assume you don't read much of this forum because those payers that you speak of got pelters all last season. People were certainly not "cool" about it.
I'm exaggerating, obviously, things aren't as black and white as I put them across in there, so you're right. There's been some pounding on other players last season too - almost everyone really. But Ronaldo gets 10x whatever other players get in terms of scrutiny and lack of coherence from the fan base. There's so much discrepancy around Ronaldo here, the guys complain when blood sucking players stay to colllect money for another season, but then seemingly hate it even more when a guy is straight forward enough to look for a way out when's not happy (and he's on the highest wage on the team!). So where do we stand as a group here? Can't have it both ways... There's also the point of a good portion of the fanbase here considering him finished, but then giving him more airtime in here than other players which while not being finished, should probably be discussed way more than Ronaldo which is a done footballer.
The part about loving the club is on the perspective of people judging his love for the club on wanting out. I'd rather judge footballers and their commitment, if you'd rather, instead of love, on what they do on the pitch, rather than outside it. Sure he may want out now, but on the pitch last year I could see he cared. He cared quite a bit. He knows where United belongs, he knows 6th is not enough, he knew at the very least, getting a CL spot was the bare minimum, kept fighting towards it while most players had already given up. I know which kind of player I'd rather have on my side. Some players don't raise any situations during Summer, but they also seemingly don't care enough during the season. I'd rather have a player that wants out but gave everything he had for the club day in day out, rather other types of player the club currently has.
Is Ronaldo perfect? No. Does Ronaldo love himself more than anything else? Probably you're right there. I just don't see eye to eye with how a lot of people see footballers in here. But I immensely respect their opinions anyway, just as I'd like people to respect mine. I enjoy fair and decent quality discussion - there's a lot of incoherent hot takes in here from many people. But there's some negative takes on Ronaldo here that are extremely well thought out, and fair game to those that while not sharing the same view as me, do so with a level head and quality in their posts.
