As a portuguese United fan, who has been a massive supporter of Ronaldo (obviously), I must say now, after seeing these past couple of weeks that I do not support the attitude of the man.
Man United,as the biggest club in the world, deserves a lot more respect and these weeks have been close to ridiculous.
Having said this, I do think CR is a legend of the club and a lot of stuff that is said here comes as unfair but I really do understand the frustation and anger of many supporters towards Ronaldo.

Almost 38 and at the very tail end of his career, you understand the insecurity and braggadocious of calling himself the King. However, I don't remember Messi calling himself such titles.
It’s hard to argue against the kms covered stats. I hate his bodylanguage and uninterested facal expression as well, it can really drain the energy out of a room. Still want him to start over Ronaldo, because he presses and we are more fluid with him than with Ronny.

I really hope the home crowd give it to him when ever he starts or comes on. Getting booed every time he touches the ball. I"d love to see how his "I am the king mind" handles that. That thought is worth more than two cents - Ronaldo is, and always has been, a model professional even though some here would have him jailed for life for even thinking of leaving United.
I think you are right that his number one hope is to leave but I'm willing to bet that if he stays, he'll get more goals than Martial (and possibly than Martial and rashford combined)
