Quite the coincidence then
Maybe but SAF was reported to have arrived an hour after Ronaldo, so there’s probably some credibility to this report that he was there for a board meeting.Good cover story but I'd find it harder to believe Fergie won't have a conversation with him if they're both in the building at the same time...
A hard working, versitile forward who presses well and is excellent at link up play and scores goals?
I think he would suit us a lot better than Ronaldo does currently.
In a way, it is a bit disturbing that people try to force trauma on someone else. I get that people think that they are being compassionate but they are not.
This unless that interview/article was from a decade ago, I can't believe anyone would be so stupid to think it's the same for a 37 year old.You build your team around peak Ronaldo and Messi. You don't rebuild a team around guys who will be retired or irrelevant in a few years.
I have to believe that we aren't still stupid enough to bow to someone like Ronaldo.
After all that rambling, glad you came to understand. Thanks for clearing that up, you guys really must have a great relationship with him and his wife to know all that. You are two very lucky people.
I was stupid to think that something so trivial as losing a child has had any bearing on the mans decisions about his plans for the rest of his time in the game.
I guess it really is all just about him and his own personal quest for more glory. Nothing more nothing less.
This whole Ronaldo saga and embarrassing to both parties , he's still a good player but a 37 year old one whose shenanigans has made a fool of both himself and the club. Why embarrassing? And to who?
When I saw this quote lower down the page, I thought it was referring to Nkunku. Them I saw GriezmannA hard working, versitile forward who presses well and is excellent at link up play and scores goals?

Virtue signalling?
And club will spin it as absolute win.Ronaldo will walk out today without the 25% reduction and probably a new raise on top of that.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtue_signallingWhat do you mean?
The sooner we can get him out of the door the better. We should in no way be looking to trigger that extra year. He’ll be 39 and it will be poor planning from our side if he is still the primary option.Yeah it’s nonsense but I guess this theory works if United did trigger the option of the 2nd year as reported.
I'm asking you about what you mean not what the term virtue signalling means.
Whatever the outcome, I really hope we don't end-up paying any part of his salary if he doesn't play for us this season - if he can't find a club to pay him the same wage as us then he can take a pay-cut. I had zero expectation of a transfer fee anyway, but don't want us to lose further money on him this season if he isn't playing for us.This what I got from twitter:
“In the end #mendes will ask utd to loan ronaldo for one season so he can play ucl and UTD should finish in top four in PL So RONalDo Will come back and play for utd again
If utd fail to finish top four then the loan team will buy ronaldo..
That is the real outcome”
There would be a meltdown if this happened.
Bringing him back was a mistake. He's way more trouble than he's worth at this stage, even when he doesn't want to leave.
Once again, there isn't a position for him in the starting XI. It won't work because we already have Bruno. Secondly, he doesn't score goals anymore, he scored like 3 last season and he's picking up more injuries. You're stuck in 2016. The current Griezmann is past it. Stop going off "names" and actually watch the players you suggest for transfers.
Heard carlos queiroz is on his way to Carrington
Absolutely a losing proposition when talking about a 37 year old...
Maybe when he was still 24-33 but definitely not now. The game's moved on from teams being built around individuals too
That was the version of him like 5 years ago, not today!
Or Ole would have continued his "defend and counter " and got us top 4. Football doesn't work like that !We would have crushed out in the group phase and finished 8 in the league without him so it wasn’t totally a mistake.

Wth is going on today??
Has Keano been invited too?
I am sure that FDJ did tell that he would like to play for United, but needs to make sure that he is paid what he is owed before he leaves. As for Cristiano's situation, it seems very likely that the player wants to leave and is ready to undermine the pre-season. To me these are quite different situations.I mean... we're still actively pursuing Frenkie De Jong with no alternative
Why is Ronaldo driving a left hand side steering wheel car in the Uk?
Explains why the club could be desperate to keep him.
That’s a very simplified way of looking at it.We would have crushed out in the group phase and finished 8 in the league without him so it wasn’t totally a mistake.
Agreed with most of your statement but Cavani was injured most of the season. Ronaldo’s presence had no impact on that. And nobody could have foresaw what would’ve happened with greenwood so we would’ve been extremely light in attack. That’s a very simplified way of looking at it.
We also experienced a huge drop off in performance from players around him who had previously produced a lot better output in goals and assists. We would also have had someone else playing instead of Ronaldo such as Cavani who would have scored plenty himself. All ifs and buts.
Likely because he bought the car when he was abroad?
Explains why the club could be desperate to keep him.
This whole saga is just odd, I find it crazy that Ronaldo's camp are really doing this without having any potential suitors lined up.
I've seen no suggestion anywhere that we intend to hinder his move, much less block it entirely. We've maintained a position in public that he's not for sale, but that's just common sense. The biggest problem he has right now is the fact that no one is particularly interested.
Considering they are being offered by a cnut who sympathises more with Pogba's injuries than a man losing a child. I think I'll pass on those, but thanks for the offer.
Instead of being a cu....
Think about how the loss of a child can trigger a lot of changes in your life. It's an immense life changing experience. But unless you've actually watched someone deliver a dead baby and held that baby and go back to a home without that baby, you will never know. I was stupid to think that something so trivial as losing a child has had any bearing on the mans decisions about his plans for the rest of his time in the game.
Maybe he wants to go back to Madrid, where his wife/partner lived before they met for other reasins. Or maybe it's her that wants to move closer to home as it were, maybe she needs that comfort of a support network of family and friends. Thanks for clearing that up, you guys really must have a great relationship with him and his wife to know all that.
