It's quite frankly a daft take. They already belong to football history and transcended their footballer status. I think that Ronaldo has largely proven that he's perfectly able to look beyond football and is already very active off pitch, more than any other footballer. There's no way his brand will fade away after he retires. If he goes to the US his fame will shoot through any level we've ever seen. If he clears that small legal problem he has there, that is.
