Cristiano doesn't precisely represent hyper masculinity though, not for me at least.

Having a six pack and being ripped doesn't make someone instantly hyper masculine, it think Zlatan represents more what hyper masculinity means than Cr7.

But I think that's the perception of him. Suppose it comes down to how you define masculine, I guess. But he is this alpha male, shoulders back, strutting around like he owns the place type of figure. Also, it's not merely about looks, either. He's assertive, ultra-confident, and extremely competitive. I think these things count. To be honest, I can see why he would gravitate towards someone like Peterson.

Just to be clear, I'm not holding him up as this kind of masculine ideal. It's more about the perception of him.

This thread is full of haters jealous of CR7’s success in the sport and with women … I can’t wait for him to score a match winning hat-trick against Argentina in the World Cup final and dedicate it to you lot!

Jordan Peterson has some very odd views on women's rights and bodily autonomy.
His daughter’s pics on the internet indicate that she practices the exact opposite of what her father advocates.

She got married and started a family. The very definition of conservativism.

Twitter-esque post.

Yeah, thinking about it, I guess it's not that random actually. Ronaldo is what Peterson advocates for in the modern man. This hyper-masculine, alpha male type. Stand up with your shoulders back and don't forget to clean that fecking room of yours. I can definitely see Ronaldo doing his crunches while listening to Persons' audiobook, similar to how Patrick Bateman would do his while watching porn or the Texa Chainsaw Massacre.

After the clean your room chapter, did he write one on plucking your eyebrows and shaving your legs?

Like Mourinho said, there are alot of football einsteins around who are totally convinced their opinion is the correct one.

Mourinho spent a fortune with little to show for it, nearly all his signings were flops and became toxic as he'll because the club wouldn't buy him Maguire(look how that turned out).

The funniest thing is that he orginally used the footballing einsteins phrase to defend his big signing Pogba. Still he had a point...at the time

Maybe he’s been getting advice from Peterson and that’s what he’s now totally shit?

Jorp's always telling everyone to clean their room, it makes sense that he's be a big fan of a footballer who's washed up.

That dude above must be some kind of mind reader. Alright I finally admit. I am two jealous of his accomplishments bedding multiple women. Hopefully hell has a place that's less merciful on heathens like me.

The last season of the Ronnie Show was a bit flaky, and this season hasn't gotten off to a great start, so I can understand the introduction of the "crazy old friend from college that he hasn't seen since he moved from Seattle" character to try and improvr viewership. Personally I would have teamed him up with a crime fighting squirrel or something but then I'm not a Hollywood writer...

It would have been better for him to show himself teaming up with Zlatan, to learn how to age gracefully and be a proper leader and mentor to the team

Not a fan of the company he is sharing. Washed up piece of shit. Tbh just makes me rethink all the shires he's been accused of in the past now and think he probably did do those things to the women.

Cristiano doesn't seem a particularly nice person based on this stint back at United.

Overall fifa rating 90, 91 being the highest (Lewy, Mbappe, De Bruyne). That brings me to question, how are the pundits commenting on Ronaldo performances? I don't remember anyone mentioning him lately. Is it the "better not to speak about him" strategy?

I don't know man, the way Maguire took out Shaw suggest he got some good wresting moves in his arsenal, not a clear win for Ronnie at all.

Outpace, not outmuscle.

Maybe Maguire for outpace and Lindelof for outmuscle. Ultimate test in PL.

The very best Ronaldo can do to help Manchester United riiiiiiight now, is to offer himself up to Chelsea in January and help screw up their season.

I dont know who this Jordan Peterson guy is but it has nothing to do with football. People here just post anything that can make them bash Ronaldo.

I took a look at the Real Sociedad game again, and i would say his pace is still the same as last season. His problem during that game wasnt pace, but more of finishing and wrong decision making (overdribbling when he could have made a pass). Lets see how he fares against Sheriff.

I agree with you here. I do believe the criticisms of his performances this season are being significantly overblown. He's still doing some good things, he's still got the movement and positioning to get plenty of chances. He's just struggling to put it all together, much like he was in the middle part of last season when he had that bad patch. Ultimately he got out of that rut last season, and I expect he'll do the same again this season.

That's not to say that I think he'll be great or anything, but I reckon he'll be a useful player to start some games and come off the bench in others.

Same. I’ve never heard of the guy before. And didn’t even look twice when I saw Ronaldo post him.

I personally don’t really care about anything he does outside football if it doesn’t affect his on pitch performances.

If you don't know who Jordan Peterson is and what he's about, how can you have an opinion on the issue? It's sort of the crux of the matter.

Hillarious Ronaldo card.
I wonder what 99 pace and physique looks like if Haaland has 89/87 and Ronaldo has 81/75. Can Ronaldo outpace or outmuscle a single CB in the PL anymore?
Haaland will for sure be upgraded in the first update with a 93-94 top speed, but the acceleration will probably be a fair bit lower.

Ronaldo is downgraded far too much in terms of speed. He's still a very fast player, and he has started most seasons slowly over the last five years or so. What Messi has done to be above him based on last season form, for instance, I have no idea. Messi and Ronaldo being equally fast... weeeeell

He has lost his pace and his touch has become worse. There were three specific occasions against La Real alone, where he didn't even get a shot away because of bad touches or lack of pace. Other times he was 35 yards out when he should be at the end of a cross in the box. He did actually press in that game, I'll give him credit for that.
