Cristiano Ronaldo’s next club? | Al Nassr

Its gotta be a saudi club. Hard to say no to £175mil for two years.

Same hes too egotisical and materialistically driven not to go back to sporting. That would be the fairytale ending.

Paris for 6 months makes sense.

Mbappe, CR7, Messi.

That would be a ridiculous front 3, 4 years ago. Now it's more of a marketing sham but still would be cool to see once or twice.
They wouldnt win shit though.
PSG chairman shut that door quickly last week when he was quoted that Ronaldo is a great player but PSG dont have the space.

He's worth taking on for 6 months for a CL club. He's still able to score at clutch moments and over a close game it can be the difference.

Agreed. He looked fantastic in the WC, surprised clubs are lining up to reject him left and right.

That pretty much confirms that he desperately wanted CL football and that he couldn't find a team willing to take him in.
I bet a few would take him if he offered to play for free or earn a salary equivalent to a clubs top player.

He literally did feck all in almost half of the games last season - that's 19 games. And those stats would look even worse if he didn't stat pad vs Norwich and Spurs.

Scoring a hat trick in a game that your team wins 3-2 is ‘stat padding’?!

That’s just silly and goes to show that a lot of people are incapable of having a sensible conversation about this subject.

Like when I see Lingard or Pogba threads bumped, I feel a sense of relief they no longer play for us.

Hard to know who has had the worse month, Ronaldo or Trump, probably Trump but it's been a bad 4 weeks for ego maniacs.

Kanye West too

It’s funny he burnt down the house and thought Europa League was below him all to realise that United was by far the highest level he could play and nobody in the top 20 clubs in Europe want anything to do with him.

He could easily find a CL team but he still wants to be paid as if he's the worlds best player.

Think it's best he goes to the Saudi league now for the £££, if he joined Bayern and played a small role whilst winning another CL for example it doesn't really do much for his legacy, Messi winning the WC is a complete slam dunk.

United did well to get shot of him but were ironically his best option in terms of competitiveness and wages.

Ronaldo is going to be raging now Messi has U-turned on Inter Miami and is coming for his CL goal records.

So he wanted to go to play CL and decided not to train, only to be completely unfit to help Portugal. He came on for 40 minutes and he was a hindrance. Not to mention that he tried to destroy the camp. And then he had to watch his arch enemy lifting the cup. He brought this to himself. He will no be forever remember as the guy after Messi.

Good luck to him in MLS or Qatar.

He did feck all before scoring the hat trick
Literally feck all

It was way too obvious he lost his scoring consistency. It also shows how easily brainwashed people are when it comes to Ronaldo. Some were literally thinking he was gonna play at top level till he was in his 40s

They're going to pay Ronaldo more in total than what they paid to buy Newcastle.

Essentially, they're not paying him to be a football player, they're paying him to be a brand ambassador for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

They offered Tiger $800m for effectively the same thing so maybe he should have held out for more.

People forget he had a couple of scoring droughts last season. They just bleat "18 goals, 18 goals" without actually realising he wasn't as prolific as it seems. Pretty sure at one point he had 1 goal in 7 games which was a penalty against Norwich

Agreed. "Stat padding" just seems to be another one of those popular horrendous Twitter phrases that really doesn't mean anything whatsoever.

Old man yells at cloud. Indeed.

He can still play at a good level but he is far more limited of a player than he used to be purely because the thing that made him such a threat, his pace and power, has gone. He isn’t tricky or nimble and refuses to adapt to what his is now capable of. Messi on the other hand is having a better time of it because he has changed his game. If Ronaldo could come back into reality and play for the team and not himself his numbers would go up for sure.

Messi winning the WC and continuing with PSG while he goes to Saudis. He must be going crazy, there is no comparison anymore. Imagine if Messi overtakes him on the CL goals as well.

I really don't think he can play to a good level anymore. It's a classic case of rival fans not watching many United games, Ronaldo has been a nothing player all season and he's even lost his goal scoring instincts.

It's funny how the spin changes quickly with time isn't it.
Last season Ronaldo was scoring 18 league goals in England, while Messi could barely onion bag in a 3rd tier league and he was supposedly finished himself!

Yeah it's incredible.

Althouse Ronaldo has himself to blame somewhat for the turnaround.

Messi is 2yrs younger than Ronaldo so can still play for another 2 years at the top level before he starts to decline

You don't think Messi has declined absolutely incredibly over the years already!?

I would argue even longer, his game is way less physical, he is a better creator, so can easily change to a more playmaker role and on top of that he simply just walks around if he doesn't have the ball. That being said, him simply walking about the pitch if his team doesn't have the ball might also be the reason he will have no place in a team anymore, most teams simply can't afford to have one player not contributing to pressing, one of the main reasons imo why most teams would shy away from Ronaldo as well.

He has and even this declined, 35.5 year old version of Messi just led his country to the world cup, putting up 10 goals and assists in the process and winning a record 2nd golden ball.

That's how good he is.

I think playing in france has helped messi as well. Messi can quite easily into a classic argentine trequestia role (4312) without causing too much disruption.

He's also put up terrific stats for PSG this season and will be the odds on favorite for the Ballon D'Or next year, especially if they win the Champions League

65 goal contributions this calendar year (35 goals and 30 assists). And 42 goal contributions (24 goals and 18 assists) since the start of the season, while having the most man of the match awards.

Ofcourse, leading his country to the World Cup and winning the golden ball puts him in a good position to add another Ballón d'Or to his collection, as you pointed out. But I doubt he even cares about that. In 2015, he said he'd gladly give up his then 5 Ballón dors for the world cup. That was his biggest goal, and he got that.
