Cricket

That's the ridiculous thing about the Pakistan team. They either win matches or lose due to fixing. They never actually lose.

That's true. It's a convenient excuse whenever they've lost to India in WC.

As if Wasim didn't reach his peak or something. Basically the ones who didn't weren't mentally strong enough anyway. Personally I think Pakistan did as well as they could in that period. Post 2000 they stopped producing top batsman anyway.

Nothing documented that far back (other than his bottle top ball scratching admissions).

The one thing he did say in his book about the 1992 world cup final was that he found out his players were going to throw the match. So he put every Pakistan players match fees on a single bet that Pakistan would win the final. We duly won.

This tells us two things: 1) match fixing was prevalent in Pakistan - probably to a very high level - and 2) Imran tried not to have too much do with it (possibly).

I lived in denial until 1999 when Rashid Latif finally blew the whistle. Since then I've been shouting match fix left, right and centre. My dad lived in denial until now.

Think Imran Kahn had no need to match fix, wasn't he from a massively rich family anyway?

Meanwhile Zimbabwe are 259/3 in fourth innings and need 106 runs to win.

Yep, didn't need to match fix to feed his diet of alcohol and women.

KM, if you don't think dropping Tendulkar six times in one game warrants a raised eyebrow for a world cup match then you're in as much denial as my dad was for the last 12 years.

Five drops. Two by Misbah, 1 by Younis Khan, 1 each by the Akmal brothers where Kamran's was pretty tough.

Aren't Misbah and Younis supposed to be clean?

Besides, you were an inferior team anyway.

Not getting into this argument with you mate. According to you, your team would've been superior to aussies and wouldn't have lost a single match if it weren't for match fixing, quite clearly you're not in a right state of mind. Enjoy your delusion

Edit: Misbah has just been dropped thrice in one hour today, clearly the Lankans are fixers.

Sri Lanka 13/6 chasing 302 to win. Steyn's not even bowled yet!

43 all out. A paltry 258 run win for SA. Amla was classy as usual, the bowlers were devastating.

I have faith!

I knew this would be the day from very early in the innings when he was on 15, I think. I posted at 9.07 am UK time.

:D

He'll become an ever better player if he doesn't retire, with this milestone out of the way.

Congrats to an amazing achievement, long time coming.

Let's hope this (possibly) final year, he can tonk every opposition from now on :D

Congratulations to him. A deserved landmark for one of the all time greats, IMO the best batsman ever.

Amusing how CNNIBN are spinning the headline of Sachin calling it a 'Dream come true' whereas in truth when asked about his advice to little kids aspiring to be grow up and be like him he said that one should just chase their dreams and added that his dream of winning the World Cup came true after 22 years in the game.

Can't we take away the centuries against Bangladesh....?

But seriously, a top achievement from a great of the game

Bangladesh are half decent at ODI's.

Better scoring it in that form of the game than against a load of there part time 36 year old spinners in a test match whilst scoring 750-3.

Well done. Time to retire. There is nothing more to achieve the little master.

We lost to Bangladesh

Just when I thought we couldn't get any worse after our tour down under.

Irfan Pathan's final over was fantastic.

He will definitely play better now than he has since that 99th century. you could see the emotional effect on his face.
he has deserved every achievement on merit.

That's how I feel, and he can't retire
Not with Dravid gone, and Laxman likely to be soon as well

They have managed the transition badly if you ask me

Congratulations to Tendulkar. It's fitting he reached the landmark in a big match against world class opposition like Bangladesh.

His cautiousness from 70 onwards probably cost India the game
