Cricket

That’s the game.

well played. Guy is going to play 100 tests. Looks class.

So with four regular players injured. Umesh injured in second innings. This has been one hell of a performance. If and when we win this, this will be in our top3 test wins imo. Ridiculous.

Fantastic performance but hopefully no early wickets. The pitch looks good for batting. If Umesh is ruled out for the next test, any idea who will replace him?

Really? This Aus side really isnt that impressive.

Nonsense. They're very good.

And you've to consider the circumstances too. We are without nearly half of our first choice XI.

Not sure but I've a hunch they might go for Nattu. Apparently he's been in impressive in net practice.

I'll take your word for it. I don't follow cricket that closely anymore.

That batting line up looks average as feck. Labuschagne is their most consistent player and he broke through last year.. Smith is quality.. that's about it.

Their bowling is pretty good.

Yeah, personally i don't think this Australian team is that good. With Warner out and Smith not scoring much, their batting lineup looks meh. Their bowling attack is very good but batting is very average.

India will get there but will lose a few early. Probably finish 70/4.
I would take any sort of win this match. It wilp be a huge win looking at the circumstance. Being all out for 36 and then not having your best batsmen and also losing your primary bowler in shami and then to do what they done is just amazing. Let us not forget bowling without Umesh for almost the innings. Now let us get 70 and make it 1-1.

This.

I am all for backing and persisting a player but this was horrendous from Aggarwal. Looked like a pub level player.

Whatever the Australian batting this is a major achievement, without no. 2 and no. 3 pacemen.

BTW how good is Shubman Gill? Genuine question. Looks so good, so positive. Love it.

What an incredible performance. Huge credit to the team. Gill is a talent. I hope the management shows patience with him.

Great performance, should have won the first test but the team showed great character to bounce back from the 36 all out.

Gill and Siraj look ready for red ball cricket.

Gill, we have known for a long time, is a genuine star and should have played a lot more for India already but Siraj showing why white ball performances should not be conflated with red ball cricket.

Ive seen four or five u19 world cups and it was immediately evident that this is the best u19 player we’ve had. Kohli didn’t look anywhere this good. He is top drawer. I do think three or four is his natural home eventually.

To be clear, this isn’t to say he’s better than Kohli. Kohlis improvement after his first two years of debut was remarkable. It wouldn’t surprise me if Gill ended up being as good.

The number of people saying they were too quick to judge Siraj when it’s been evident he was piling on the wickets in red ball cricket, especially on good away A tours all along..

Mate he's fantastic. Bossed ranji trophy and A tours. I saw him in u19 WC and whilst all the hype was Shaw, he looked the real deal. He's pretty much a generational talent. Upto Indian management to treat him well.

Honestly we’ve had great wins but to do it without Kohli, Shami, Ishant all at absolutely peak of their ability makes this 1 for me. In pure results there have been many great results but the players missing for this one..

Such a dominant display. If Gill doesn't make it in the team in the next two years then something has gone wrong.

Made this post two and half years ago, went off the prediction by six months unfortunately!

Yeah I was considering the circumstances tbh. Loads of injuries, 36 allout in previous test etc. This is so, so unexpected.

I don’t know enough cricket to know what changed between last tour and this one for mayanks technique, but Mayank has to go work on his game. I think he’s a class player.

I would drop him for Rahul.

Team for third test match?

Rohit is nailed on to come for Aggarwal and if Umesh is injured, it essentially is a choice between Natarajan and Saini. I'd go for Nattu in that case.

As for Australia, I guess Burns will go for sure(booo!) and maybe they'll also drop Travis Head who's just a bit meh imo.
