Cover versions that fortunately happened

One of my favourite VoiVod tracks. A superb Syd Barrett cover.

Not sure I prefer Gorgoroth's version to the original, but Gaahl's vocals are sick here.

Tool - No Quarter

My favorite cover of all time, Jimmy Page stated that Tool played it better than Zep did. This isn't the official video, this is their studio version. There are live vids out there though.

Ones that should never have worked, but did. Brilliantly:

Every Step You Take - Puff Daddy
Your Extra Time (And Your Kiss) - Tom Jones
Valerie - Amy Whitehouse

Always thought Metallicas versions of Whiskey in the Jar and Turn the Page were pretty good.

Bryan Ferry - Jealous Guy

Good shout, I quite like Bryan Ferry's version, even more so than Lennon's original in fact.

A couple of my personal favourite covers are:

Probably because I'd do anything for another album from The Postal Service.

He takes the song and conveys the same kind of emotional disturbance with just a guitar and his voice. Well done, Mr. Rice!

Wonderful! Thanks for the contribution man... that made my day. :)

Agree with All Along the Watchtower Nilsson, one of my favourite songs.

I think this is class as well, Tool´s interpretation of Led Zeppelin´s No Quarter:

I love Rage Against the Machine´s cover-album "Renegades" as well, these three songs in particular:

I've not click those vids yet but what is the Rage video/song where the lead singer is wearing a Ford badged style 'fuct' t shirt and Tom Morrello is giving it some whammy action?
