Could we see a deadline day panic buy again? If so, who?

Blind, perhaps.
Or maybe we'll throw a load of cash at sporting and that third party for Rojo.

I would have thought there'd be one Dutch player Van Gaal would have brought in. Even a youth player -- which I know isn't what we need now, but looking to the future.

My guess is that deadline day panic deals (if they happen) might consist of Dutch players that Van Gaal knows, who are at least vaguely familiar with his system/philosophy, and could therefore come in and 'do a job'. Blind and Vlaar are the only members of Van Gaal's Dutch back 5 yet to move clubs, De Jong might make sense as an experienced destroyer protecting our youthful backline, and Depay as a versatile attacking option.

Vlaar could prob be in Manchester within a few hours, he'd want to keep himself safe for their opening fixtures though.

Rojo after the all too obvious realisation that a back 3 of Jones, Evans and Smalling is about as reliable as a white crayon. Rojo will do f.a. to fix that, mind, but I can definitely see it happening the way Woody's been going with his business.

We'll end up spending a combined £40 million for De Jong and Blind.

Barca will probably inform the media they received a £40 million bid for Mascherano from us too.

At least we can't sign Fellaini again.

We'll definitely have a defender like Rojo before then. If not, we'd have to settle for someone like Vlaar at an inflated price, because we need a defender like crazy. a panic buy past that would probably be a big name player. Someone we pondered breaking a record for and didn't feel the need, just the want.

Picture Woodward saying the finger is on the trigger and LVG doing his best Palpatine impression as he says "do it."

Blind, Rojo, Vlaar, Vidal (Khedira is not a PL player - really doesn't like it too physical) and Subotic ... and pay whatever it takes.

We need players of quality at the club pointless to add more piles of crap to the one we already have.

Vidal, Di Maria and Rojo will all be at Carrington and sign in the same room on september 1st at 10:55pm. Woodward will have a foursome with them and wander off into the darkness until January.

This is just it.

Van Gaal is either going to bring in players that will instantly upgrade the team or he'll stick with Blackett, James and Lingaard.

We'll get nobody. Who wants to lose important players at this stage when they will have no time to replace them?

According to Phil Neville we need four quality players, yeah well good luck with us finding one.

There will be no late panic buy, I think the owners will either decide to invest and maybe hope to increase the value of the club, or they will decide to leave things as they are and just cash in on what they already have like the 750million from addidas, then maybe start an exit strategy and sell the rights to the stadium name and take that money with them in some form of debt repayment. But to be honest I do not think they will leave yet. There are many more millions to be made.

The real question is do you panic buy a stop-gap or keep the kids then buy properly next year.

I think we should ask about Delph while attempting to tie up the Vlaar deal. Could throw in a few youngsters on loan to sweeten the deal.

Delph is very underated and his energy and mobility are so far away from Fletch and Carrick. Would really bring the best out of Herrera while also allowing him to cover the space in behind our wing backs.
