Could Utd be sold soon?

Yep. I loathe the Glazers, and want rid of them.

But if were sold to the Saudis I'm not watching or supporting United until we're sold again. I'd rather see us relegated than owned by the likes of them

Yes sure, but the royal family does not own QSI. The state do.

The state is the Emir who was also the one in charge of QIA when PSG was bought. Now, if you are thinking about other relatives to the family like the one cousin that bought Malaga and wasn't bothered enough to pay the bills then fair enough. But the royal family is in charge of PSG, in fact every important decisions concerning PSG are made by the Emir himself.

Don't give a rats ass who owns the club and honestly reading the "the end" "i'd be out" comments makes me want to laugh.

Read what they are doing in Yemen and have an other laugh. There are more important things then football in life.

I don't get the smilies. Who wants us to be used as propaganda for a country that blows up a school bus full of kids?. Our players laughing and taking photos with officials that have a journalist killed in their embassy? A government that beheads people in the street or in stadiums?
If you don't have a problem, you need to get your priorities straight.

I hope it goes through... Just to see the meltdown in the current events forum

The transfer forum will turn into billion pound wish lists based entirely on fm19

And good luck to Jose when he starts badmouthing them... Even Embassy's are not safe (allegedly)

Yeah why not surely they would at least get rid of Woodward

You're missing the point, mate.

Do you really want to see our club become another billionaires plaything like Man City or PSG? Personally, I'm already feeling a disconnection with the club in its current state, selling out to the Saudi's will be the straw the breaks the camels back.

There were 48 beheadings carried out in the first four months of this year. All state punishments. Some of them publicly.
Feck em.

Of course the better thing would have been for FIFA to have properly controlled PSG and City, then we wouldn't even have to consider it been ok selling ourselves out in a worse way just to keep up, and then no doubt like them turn a blind eye to who actually owns us, just as long as we are successful, it'd be horrendous watching us become like them imo, event though I badly want the Glazer's gone.

As far as I can work out this rumour might have been started by that lawyer 20 guy on twitter, so it's a rumour built on fluff anyway..

Please be true. Couldn't care less who owns us as long as we can compete with City and win the biggest trophies.

Indeed, couldn't say it better.

Would prefer an international drug cartel to buy the club. At least those guys don’t pretend to be a legitimate entity. Beheadings, torture, kidnapping, oil, misogyny and now football.

We've been throwing stuff like this down City fan's throats for years now.
UAE are nowhere as bad as Saudi Arabia, neither finance terrorism (at least not in the scale of S. Arabia), nor behead people for fun, or kill journalists in embassy.

Wouldn't want them, mind you, but Saudi Arabia is on an another scale of evilness. Probably not even North Korea are as bad as them.

Mind you, some people here would be glad with it, as long as we win trophies and play sexy football.

The club is so valuable now that it's incredibly hard to buy. It's one thing buying a club for £300m, quite another to buy a club for £3bn.

There's very little business sense in buying a club at United's price. So the only real attraction is prestige. And at the moment we're struggling a bit, so someone like Liverpool or Chelsea might offer greater PR value.

Tbh I'm not particularly enthused by any of the alternatives. Either we get a private equity fund which is unlikely to sanction major player signings, or we get a dodgy regime. The best bet would be a collective of United fans, like the Red Knights, but raising £3bn would be a huge challenge.

Typical discussion. On one side the ones who dont care and want to win at all costs and on the other side the guys who have moral issues with it. I hope nothing changes and Ed gets his head out of his ass eventually.

When it comes to stories from British newspapers, I am pretty skeptical as journalists are good what they do, writing interesting stories and I am more unlikely to believe a story which came out of the Daily Star. I do hope that someone makes the Glazers an offer that they cant refuse and hope the title "United could sold be soon" is true, although I cant see it happening anytime soon as just treat us as a good business which keeps bringing in them vast amounts of money for them to line their pockets.

I am not sure about selling to the Saudi Arabians as I am not sure about the practices that go on in their countries. But I would be right up for the club being sold to the right people, by the right people I mean someone who is a keen fan with enough resources to back us all the way and get us fighting for the league regularly and also competing in the latter stages of the Champions League.

I would like us to be taken over by someone mega rich who is willing to dip into their own pockets to fund us for the love of football, not another business man who sees us as as their 'person cash cow' as I think the club deserves more than that. I want to be taken over by someone who wants to make us great again. Not on the commercial side but where it matters on the pitch.

Current Market Cap values the club around $4bn. I think it would take $5+ before the Glazers start considering.

If there's even a hint of a takeover by the Saudis we should protest as vehemently as possible.

Yes the Glazers have their flaws but this goes way beyond football. We'd become an image-laundering tool for a murderous regime.

Let City mortgage their soul if they want to. We're better than that.

I will support another club if this comes to fruition. The Saudis are a fecking disgrace to humanity.

What a time to be a promising young footballer. Feck knows what they will be earning in 7 years.

They would probably be better than the Glazers as I doubt they would be taking money out of the club.

Some of you guys are strange - nothing would stop me supporting Utd ❤
Even if it was run by an oppressive regime?! No amount of red love hearts could resolve that for me I'm afraid.

Exactly why I think that the club isn't going to be sold anytime in the near future. There's unlikely to be buyers, and Glazers are unlikely to sell anyway m

It always sickened me, that the FA allowed clubs to be sold to anyone, no matter their morals or background. That includes the Glazers and how they put the club into debt to take ownership.
Abramovich, with his dodgy Russian wealth, started all this.
Then City, who at the time, were more likely to get relegated than win the league. Bought to be used as a promotional tool by a corrupt country.
It’s too late to turn back the clock, but I really do hope that the Saudis are blocked from buying the club.
Could you imagine Kim Yong Un trying to buy a premier league club? There would be parliamentary debates and the government stepping in.
I can’t stand how Saudi Arabia are given a free pass by our and the American government, to do whatever they like. Just because it’s massively profitable to sell weapons to them.
This isn’t what football should be connected to.

Jesus some of the comments in here.

If you'd be happy with the club being owned by these "people" then you need to take a long hard look at yourself.

Not that it's gonna happen, but still.

There are several folks in the US who could individually purchase the club if they wished to.

The guy who bought the Panthers only paid about 1/6th of his net worth for them. He could have gone higher if he needed to.
I’m not saying an individual can’t buy it, I’m just saying why would someone unless it’s for similar reasons to the Glaziers want to invest the best part of 3 billion dollars. It’s highly unlikely that an individual buys us.

Billionaire owners buying clubs at 400 million pound is no problem but buying United even for Beezo is a big chunk of that nest egg and unless you have an emotional connection or just want to own it as some what of a trophy I can’t imagine too many wanting to buy it.

To buy a nfl team you have to pass a fit and proper persons type test. I remember kronke (arsenal) had a hard type trying to buy the rams, it was almost blocked iirc

Aren’t these Saudis allies of US and UK? Why the political correctness all of a sudden?

You would be hard pressed to find anyone outside of the governments and the private business owners who make money off of these deals, who isn’t absolutely appalled that the Saudis are allies of the US and UK.

Not bothered by potentially being owned by evil regimes and being used as a propaganda piece?
As long as you get to put a stream on for a match and get entertained eh?
