Coronation Street (spoiler)

A death-bed wedding for Peter is a rumour. Ashley and Claire are definately leaving, but I think that is a red herring.

A plastic hammer I think.

To be fair the episode was as cringe-worthy as I expected. I can't say I see much of Coronation Street if any, but i was interested to see this tram business. There was no point whatsoever in showing the tram driver - seemed silly and just un-necessary. Then the bits where the girl in the shop was running with the baby looked very unrealistic.

Wasn't this the most expensive soap plot/stunt ever?

Corrie is always bordering on comedy - that's why I watch it. It never takes itself too seriously. Compared to the likes of Eastenders, it's a laugh riot.

I'd presumed with all the tears and stuff beforehand it was trying to take itself serious - It just needed Corporal Jones from Dads Army on the scene yelling 'Don't Panic' after the tram had gone off!

I like Corrie, its one of my guilty pleasures (approx 10billion times better than Eastenders)

last night was almost laugh a minute. The 1st person shots when Fizzies fella was being attacked by the hammer weilding mentalist were ridiculous and the tram launching up in the air before slamming down into the shop reminded me of the T-Rex in Jurrasic Park

the best bit had got to be Molly running away from the tram holding baby Jack - it was a direct replica of the opening credits from Darkplace, i can't post the vid as i'm at work but anyone who's seen it will know what i'm talking about - i'm sure she was just about to somersault over one of the racks when it caught up with her

Epic show

 at Corrie

Not sure it's supposed to be so funny but...

Did the writers forget we have emergency services....where are they?

You weren't paying attention.

There was a huge motor way pile up that had commandeered ambulances from all round the region.

Don't forget, timewise, they're only about three hours or so into the crash.

No matter how big a pile up it is it would never take say an hour to get to such a major incident, they would just tell some of those at the pile up to get over there immediately, play the averages.

Sparky would know better than me but it is completely flawed that it took so long.

It was 20 mins when the first of the emergency services arrived....they mentioned something about it.

Looks that way, I say, it looks that way. Gone to meet up with his dad in the great butcher's shop in the sky. :(

I'm beginning to think it might be Rita who dies - because how fitting that she should be killed by a tram, after the Alan Bradley incident. And the actress is knocking on a bit, so might be ready to go.

I was sure that Ashley was a red herring. It's looking 99% certain I was wrong, although it is a soap, so anything can still happen at this point. Sunita and Rita are touch and go, Peter looks in a bad way. Tonight's hour-long live episode should be interesting, but I can't really see how they can deal with continuity issues from the effects heavy episodes filmed a month ago.

Also, why are people such massive idiots? Are the trams still running?: 'Confused' viewers called Metrolink to check service after Coronation Street crash - Manchester Evening News

Coronation Street's devastating tram crash was so realistic that several people called a travel advice line to check if the real Metrolink was still operating.

At least six calls were made about the tram system by passengers saying they had seen the carnage on television and wanted to check if there was a problem.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive said none of the calls were from people panicking or in distress. But she said ‘half a dozen calls’ had been received from people asking if services were affected.

20 mins!!! I'm glad I don't live in that area....I hardly think every policeman in the Manchester area was dealing with some RTC.

I wish someone would sedate that Fizz woman.
