For someone who hasnt gotten Spurs to a level past where they were under Pochettino, I dont know why Conte continues to act like he is doing Tottenham a favour by being their manager. Naturally I am no Spurs fan, but the way they fawn over Conte like he is a messiah is pretty ridiculous.
Because their last manager was Nuno and he's probably the best manager that would actually go to spurs.
Maybe Tuchel fancies the spurs job.

The question is what's the point of sacking Jose Mourinho when they end up making a wholesale changes of their squad ? Lloris , Hojbjerg , Dier , Kane and Son were the only players who played regularly under Conte now and none of them has any problem with Mourinho. They should have continue the project with Mourinho instead of hiring the lite version of him playing the same shitty football every games. i swear Mourinho had spurs scoring goals for fun for some period before he realizes his defenders were shite. But instead of binning the defenders , they bin the manager and the new manager end up binning those defenders. Never understand the thought process of that. It's just funny to read spurs fans excuse for conte playing tumescent football ,they said they were winning games with conte while they were just losing under jose , i mean pretty sure Mourinho were winning games as well since they were top of the league by December right ? Mourinho was asking for defender only for Spurs to shop in championship during January transfer window and that's when the wheel off.

There is this huge misconception of equating pragmatic with defensive. The two are not the same thing. Conte is very much *not* a pragmatic coach. He's like Bielsa, he wants 11 robots executing his tactical masterplan, in every game, he's just not hung up on things like high pressing and possession. This works really well in the league, where he usually has a talent advantage such that good execution - which massively improves non-elite players by streamlining their decision making - will often get them wins. The problem is his teams are predictable, and in Europe, where the average quality of opposition is high, this predictability becomes a flaw
That said, his CL woes are also somewhat overstated. He's had 5 CL campaigns now, lost in QF to the all-conquering Bayern, went out in a group stage because of an incredible sequence of individual mistakes in every game(2013), group of death where he had the 3rd best team in the group, and finally the one that actually be laid at his feet was the 2019 group stage. Where Shakhtar Donetsk made them pay for being too predictable

It's strange, I've watched them this season and haven't been impressed. But they would have taken the start they've had points wise. Son hasn't got going yet. They've a very good manager and good squad. I think there's a lot more to come from them.

I think the article was talking about the end of the season, not right now. Obviously a lot would depend on how the season goes for Spurs as well.
The man's a Juve legend, both as a player and a manager. Juve having a hard time, a chance to return home to be with his family, and revive a stuttering giant like he did first time round?
I'd say those were pretty strong draws.
Spurs fans are so weird, they get so intrenched in loyalty with whichever fool they have in charge. Conte isn't going to be sticking around for long, the football will continue to be pretty bloody grim, and he will burn the place down before he leaves.

Also worth considering that the 5 seasons he has had, have been with 3 different teams. He did make 1 final too.
You can make as many excuses for his CL form as you like, the facts still make for very underwhelming reading.
This is just typical media guff - everybody wants Conte to leave Spurs because they don't want Spurs to have a great manager. It's the same crap with Kane every year (which to be fair did almost happen last year). From everything I see and hear Conte is perfectly happy at Spurs and is getting supported by his chairman to the hilt. If things change and he feels Levy isn't playing ball then he will leave but nothing has suggested this is happening.
Would love some Conte chaos. If they get 2nd no way he leaves. If they finish 4th and have a poor CL campaign I can see him leaving.

For those unaware, his CL records now stands at : 36 matches - 13 wins, 12 losses, 11 draws.
You can contextualize that all you want, but at some point the sample size is large enough to make a judgement. Making one Europa League final (not even winning it) should not be considered an achievement for a manager of his stature.
I thought he was a defence specialist. How come his team scores so many goals? They have the second most productive attack in PL, behind only City with Haaland.

Joint best Spurs start to a PL season. So he has done something right.
Still think while they haven't played well and there's room for improvement, the performances will catch up on them. The forward line's efficiency masks how poor their midfield is. When they don't get proper service like a few weeks ago against Wolves, then it can become a snoozefest.

There is a huge chance that Conte will win the league for Spurs. They are top of the league with City and I think Arsenal will get one point against Brentford. It is too Early I know but he is a league specialist.
Results will catch up.

They are playing quite similar to how they played under Mourinho in the 20-21 season albeit with better attacking profiles. I personally don’t think this is a sustainable way of playing football but time will tell.
They are nothing special. Not good enough to challenge for any meaningful trophies anyway.

I suppose we should give Conte some credit for continually finding results with underwhelming performances. It can't last though, and it won't. They give up far too much territory and concede too many chances
Yes. The results will soon start to match their shit performances. Their football is horrible.
It was the same at Inter, and they won the league.
Their defensive style means they also concede very few in the league. Won't be enough to probably challenge for the league given how strong City are but I can see them finishing second.

It's a very small sample size so too early to draw conclusions yet, but they have the 4th best xGD in the league so far. That said, most of their games have been close, so yeah, if they keep this up there's a chance results might get worse. So far they're relying on being really hard to score on and producing just enough attack to win games. A strategy that is highly reliant on Kane and co. to finish well and on the defence to keep holding/Lloris playing well/opponents not going on a hot finishing streak. The margin is thin
