Conor McGregor thread.

What do you think of your countryman McGregor? Do you believe the ‘alleged rumours’?

What does majority in the republic think now?

We see a lot more of his shenanigans and I obviously don't speak for everyone but I don't know anyone who had a good opinion of him before the allegations came out.

The tide had started to turn before the bus incident. At that stage he was considered an embarrassment by the majority of my social circle.

As for the rumours he's innocent til proven guilty but the dogs in the street know what he's been up to.

McGregor is taking fierce criticism on Irish social media today for this tweet to Trump. There are folk frothing at the mouth with their rage, which is odd as there’s arguably tens of McGregor episodes over the past few years which would actually warrant such a response.

What the feck is wrong with these neanderthals who equate whatever they oppose politically to deserve instant degradation and worthy of this ‘cancellation culture’? Can they not see that this approach will eventually turn everybody against them? I’m no fan of Conor McGregor but if this was the biggest crime he’s committed in my eyes, and something which caused me indescribable outrage, I’d seriously need to re-think my values and assessment of society in general.

I think it's just the cherry on top of a shit sandwich to be honest.

It's a bizarre tweet though throwing Martin Luther King day in there and all - is he taking the piss?

It's always people on the left that will "turn everybody against them". Left-wingers criticize somebody or stops being a fan of someone for their political views and it's "What's wrong with these people?!", and they're the ones that have to change their ways because they'll drive everyone away.

Yet you get right wingers calling anyone with different political opinions libtards, lefties, *****, SJWs, betas, soyboys... the list of cringe goes on, yet it's never those that will push people away, it's always those on the left that have to stop being so mean and be more accommodating to everyone else.

Isnt it weird to be a foreign Trump supporter?
Its not as if you can claim hes racist with America great again etc.
Its a strange thing to be up in arms about.

Neither style of rhetoric is good. But the left typically is more outspoken and critical. You'll likely think otherwise but you are wrong. The majority of people on the right are silent and afraid of being slandered and mischaracterised. Hence the shock at the recent election/referendum results and the desire to simply label those who voted differently as racist/bigoted/evil/stupid/indoctrinated/old (because ageism is one of those isms that's apparently OK).

He's a bollocks and always was, just a jumped up scumbag who tricked people into thinking he was anything but.

Do people get bothered who celebrities vote for? He can't even vote for the US president either so it doesn't matter even more so

They have a huge platform and reach millions of people, e.g. LeBron James has 50+ million followers on social media. If he endorses Trump and has "legitimate" arguments, you can bet that a few million fans will follow his view because they're not interested enough in politics to form their own opinion. So yeah, it would piss me off a bit if (sport) celebrities support cnuts like Trump. In McGregor's case it's probably a little les annoying since he isn't American indeed.

Another example: I know Tom Brady and Bil Belichick support Trump, which definitely alters my view of them. I think Dana also supports him.

Fair enough.

I'm not in to American politics at all so won't comment on the ins and outs of Trump etc but it just seems odd to get offended by it to me, I thought the same in the general election, celebrities are entitled to an opinion just cos it's one others don't like it just seems weird that people get their back up about it. Obviously some celebrities will vote and support Trump, Johnson etc.

Few days old but only just saw the details there.

"While in the penthouse suite, the woman said in the statement of claim that she was “beckoned” to the bedroom by McGregor, who asked her to perform a lewd act on him, which she refused. McGregor began kissing the woman and removing her clothes, ovhe wrapped his arms around her neck er her protestations, the statement said. After she bit and hit McGregor, he wrapped his arms around her neck and lifted her up three times, after which she ceased fighting back.

McGregor then told her, “That’s how I felt in the Octagon, I had to tap myself out three times, that’s how I felt,” the lawsuit said. McGregor raped her, according to the statement of claim, and demanded she lie on the bed next to him afterward."

Apparently he asked MGK for a photo. MGK said no, something happened, and MGK pushed him, so McGregor threw his drink at him.

Conor is a cnut, MGK looks like a tit but he’s banging Megan Fox so who are we to question him

This shit is on every channel in my hotel room regardless of what the channel guide says. Who gives a feck

Absolute state of Megan Fox’ outfit btw :nervous:

I hate him so much, and the fact that the piece of shit is probably the world's most famous Irishman right now.

He's as bad as James Corden. An absolute cnut of a man.
