Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

Although it sounds like the media has been fully briefed by the club, judging by the fact all papers are coming out with it at once.

I'd be relieved for Manchester United but a bit sad for the man. He clearly got a job much above his station and has his managerial reputation in tatters as a result of it.
Very true, I feel sorry for him too. Its the right decision though

Its sad because moyes is not a bad person. Unfortunately hes out of depth.

Oh well he tried his best

Thought as much.

Not gonna revel in it but it has clearly been a massive mistake from the get go and one that I'm pleased we're trying to rectify before the new season.

Hope this is true. I've been largely defensive of Moyes as I don't believe he's as awful as people on here have been saying but he's obviously not the person to take us forward.

Oh my word, I am so relieved.

Yeah, Moyes comes across as a nice guy, tried his best and all but then I remember he's getting a bumper pay deal. It worked out well for all

A good man in the wrong job. Deserves the sack but hopefully it doesn't tarnish his reputation totally.

A month ago I would've said (and indeed did say) there's no way he'll be sacked before next season, but after the performance last night and the reaction to it it seemed obvious that this was the final straw.

Has to happen. No other way to go.

I would've understood a decision to give him one more year but I fully understand the decision to relieve him of his duties.

Tick tock Uncle Malc, get the boot out.

It's probably the best thing for Moyes. Sometimes these things don't work out. Can't imagine he's been getting much sleep the past 7-8 months.

Haven't been so excited since our RM games last season!

All over my Twitter and else where, first thing I do get the feck on the caf to see how legit it is.

Were the rumours of Welbeck leaving, amongst other things, what tipped Moyes over the edge?

I'm happy but I also feel sorry for him. It's not his fault he wasn't up to the job. I've got no doubt he tried his best but unfortunately it just wasn't enough.

No hard feelings towards Moyes, I don't doubt he tried but his efforts weren't up to our standards

Best transfer of the summer!

You'd have to think the tipping point was mathematically not being able to make top 4 - probably a clause in the contract regarding objectives.
