Complete Mental Obliteration V2

Will try to read it, thanks.

In the meantime, might I recommend reading The Hungry Tide, it is based on the Sundarbans, a mangrove delta at the mouth of the Ganges where the river flows into the Bay of Bengal. Plus The Calcutta Chromosome and The Glass Palace, all works of Amitav Ghosh.

DN has it right. Plus even in your scenario how are you prepared to commit mass murder? Where did you get the equipment and weapons training? It's another pretty pointless sacrifice which is guaranteed to end in death.

Was it specified you could change things? That's a large assumption to make when its not mentioned anywhere.

They managed get a gun? Well, yes, they could, that doesn't mean you can. So your plan is to travel to a secret meeting, obtain a gun immediately without question, and kill a room full of people, some of who are probably armed, and then die somewhere in your escape.

I think we can safely assume the secret meeting was on a boat. He's done it again.

Right, firstly I'd want to prevent a disaster from happening, rather than selfishly seeing the invention of the light bulb. So it becomes a question of which one. Well, there's the two world wars, the first, causing the second. Just for the sake of lives saved, I'd eliminate things like 9/11 and 7/7 and other similar events, and would opt for preventing world war one (at least temporarily).

Now, how to go about it. I could just go to where Princip was when he killed Franz Ferdinand and tackle him, but who's to say he wouldn't have killed him some other time? He'd need to be killed. But then who's to say another member of the Black Hand(?) wouldn't have killed him. So they'd need to be killed as well, and the best way of doing that, would be killing them all at once, at a meeting (ideally the one where they plotted to kill him).

So, my answer is that I would travel back to a meeting of the Black Hand, and kill them all, by gun, bomb, it wouldn't matter, as long as they're all dead. Yes, killing people is terrible, but preventing world wars would make it worth it.

Yes, there are other events, dating centuries back, all the way back to Jesus, but it'd be much harder to predict the outcomes of saving Jesus than preventing WWI (and consequesntly WWII).

Although the problem with all time-travel questions is that me doing that, could somehow prevent my Grandma and Granddad meeting, stopping my birth (Liam's killed himself again haha knew it good one). But for the sake of this, I'll assume I do travel back to the present. However, if it is a trick question, using the whole time travel, butterfly effect thing (I haven't seen that film either sine you asked.), I obviously would travel back one second, just to ensure that I survive a question. But of course, my serious answer (assuming it's a serious question) is the WWI prevention thing.

It's a bad idea to mess with things that have already happened, you never know what the implications could be.

Liam, you cheeky scamp, your at it again.

If you could transport yourself to any place during any period of time, where and when would it be, and what would you do there. Make sure your answer is detailed.

It's clearly about selecting one thing, you don't want to get singled out so you list about seven.

Well done, you know that lovely history piece they teach in school, that the death of Arch Duke Rio started WWI. C'ept it didn't really there was lots of things happening one after each other, it was just another match thrown at the powder keg that was Europe at the time. The straw the broke the camel's back

I'll give you that it will transport you to where they are, but it would have to be in the same building, do you even know what they look like ? there was at least 10 people, including the guy that actually got the kill shots. Even with a machine gun your not Rambo.

Temporal paradoxes are irrelevant, but I guess your thinking well by trying to cover all angles. As I've stated WWI was not started on one event but a combination of factors, , WWII wasn't solely on hilter's shoulders but he sure didn't help, 9/11 was what 4 planes hijacked in 4 different locations at the same time by armed suicide bombers, good luck with stopping that.

Jesus dying was actually a good thing. I know it's horrific and not good for him personally, but in dying for all of mankind he wiped the slate clean for everyone, he died for our sins, so we all get to start life at no sin.

So if you save him, you've damned all of humanity to still having to pay off original sin.

That said TB's answer is awful, it could only be worse if he said he read lion, witch and the wardrobe once and would like to go to that cupboard in 1940 or whatever time it was. So win to Liam imo.

Thanks, Liams answer is still better but as with all CMO, that's not saying alot.

It's great for it to be back, forgot how funny this is.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into these immediately, I'm currently looking into literature about India and by Indians.

We should get a couple of hours of gameplay in today. Both answers at the moment are pretty difficult to think about.

I've accidentally started listening to very depressing music, I played a rather slow tempo song about an hour ago and it's doom spiraled on me.

I need CMO to cheer me up here!

If I wake up in the morning and Biff owns the casino and married to my mum, I won't be happy

We're implementing real life mental obliteration challenges, seems you found one Ally.

Questions to be posted around 10pm tonight. Liam, TB, check in when you can.

What do you want first, your really good surprise, or the very bad one?

What's going on Liam? Do you suspect we know everything that is happening in the whole Universe?

We probably do.

What? What is happening? I can't that what has happened before that is so bad that it's deemed a bad surprise and is happening again.

Unless you're referring to the package by any chance?

You didn't mentally process that post did you Liam.

We probably do.

Which is why I asked. As you know, you may as well inform me, right?
You didn't mentally process that post did you Liam.

No, I'm just posting instinctively now, if one can do such a thing.
This thread is so cruel sometimes.

It is. I'm just waiting for my reps to disappear.
