Community Shield 2022: Liverpool v Manchester City 5pm BST 30 July

Alvarez looks pretty good, doesn’t he? If only we went all in for him when Rangnick wanted him. Might have been the only good thing he did

Individually he'll be fine and not a flop by any means. But I don't think he's going to mesh into their system as much as has been (in my opinion lazily) assumed.

Yes, will score goals, but the success of his move will be if he makes the team better, and that is uncertain. Scoring in the important moments in big European games might just do the trick.

Nunez actually did well in the lead up to the pen, dropped, nice ball out wide, good movement to the back post, awful header.

Did the commentator just say that the build up by Nunez was “brilliant”? I mean all he did was misplace a header.

I wouldn’t be judging Haaland much today

He is far too good not be a huge success over the season. He is about as sure a bet as you can get

He’s only ever played in a league where numerous players have looked great but not brought that form abroad. And he looks a bad fit for City. Not very technical and poor at the pressing/defensive side of the game. I think there’s a very good chance this doesn’t work out. Don’t forget Pep’s fallen out with some legitimately top class strikers in the past.

Good penalty. Look what it means to them… book the parade!

That's the problem with VAR. 2 very obvious decisions that shouldn't have took longer than 5-10 seconds each, took nearly a combined 5 minutes if not more.

Feel for Dias.

Can’t have been expecting Nunez to be that shite he’d head the ball in the opposite direction to the goal.

Why are both teams fans acting like there's a lot riding on this . It's only a bloody friendly.

Great directing here, two VAR situations and they've cut away from the ref just when he's about to show the call both times.

Nukaku with a majestic header there, he knew exactly that was going to be pen, genius

It’s obviously a pen but it’s going well wide. Unlucky in a way.

That Nunez is giving me massive Werner vibes already. He will score a few because Liverpool create so many chances but no way is this big poser going to be profilic

That maybe where his signing comes up trumps, he may get those clutch goals to make the difference in Europe but i feel we won't see the type of insane levels we saw in the Aguero/false 9 years.

He's played in Champions League as well.

Yes, it is shite, but the genie is out of the bottle now and this is what people wanted for years.

That header was going out for a throw in. Only Liverpool can end up with a penalty for being absolutely shit.

Liverpool trying desperately hard to convince themselves Nunez is anything other than a crock of shit
