Music Commercial Hip Hop Thread

Bone still make music, but they are as always a mess of a group. Their first albums are classics for me though.
Twista is also still making music, Cham i dont know. Wu tang actually got some fuss around them when they made that "only one copy album" and i am pretty sure a new album from them would do ok now.

Its a new era now, not only sonicly and lyricsvise, but its not many labels who would back artists like Twista ect because of the drop in albums sales.

Still, if you were into Twista and Bone (like my self) i guess you also liked Tech N9ne and he sells better than ever.

Yeah I like Tech N9ne. It's good to see him doing well with his Strange Music label.

Bone Thugs seem to be stuck in two minds half the time as to what direction they are going. They're just an example anyway. There's just loads of rappers that I don't hear or see anymore. People like DMX and Ja Rule also. Except when they're nearly dying in car parks! Looking back, they were definitely better days for hip hop when all these rappers were active. These weren't even the big hitters either!

Go and listen to Freaks and Geeks by Gambino.

Because The Internet is a great album too and what makes it great is the whole project around it.

He's not ever going to be comparable to Kendrick or anything like that but he's a really good listen with some clever lyrics, great beats and different style.

Yeah, he doesn't have to be one of the greats to be listened to, just good is fine with me, I'm downloading because the internet.

Ready to die or Life after death?

I always held the opinion that Ready to die was the better album but these days I lean towards LAD for the versatility Biggie shows on it. So many different type of tracks.

Ready to die.

Ready to Die, just because Life after Death had more filler tracks. If it was condensed to a single album I'd probably take it over Ready to Die.

A double LP is incredibly difficult to pull off (take note Drake)

Both. Biggie is the GOAT

Logic's new mixtape is really great IMO.
I am usually into Outkast and Gang Starr and love Logic. With every new mixtape and album he changes his style yet maintains his excellence. Many rappers nowadays are poor, but Logic is different. I will admit though, 1 or 2 songs on this are bad.

Posted that track a few weeks back, love it. The album dropped, pretty damn good from top to bottom, certainly one I'd recommend, good amount of west coast vibes in there too.
