Off topic, but you seem to be quite a sports fanatic. How many sports do you follow Desert Eagle?

i seem to be getting that a lot Psmith.

Football(both kinds),Baseball,Basketball,Cricket,Tennis,Golf.

You need to start watching Hockey then....

I've heard its an awesome game but I don't know the rules and also back home in Thailand there is almost zero coverage of ice hockey. i occasionally watch field hockey though. that is pretty fun.

It's a great game, not surprised that hockey doesn't get any coverage in Thailand. It's basically a northern sport (Canada, Russa, Finland, Sweden, etc)

Ice hockey looks like fun. But every time I've seen it I've trouble spotting the puck.

we get loads of NFL and MLB coverage but rarely any NHL. Usually only catch a coupleof games of the Stanley cup.

Lets not get too off-topic though. Psmith if you follow NFL then join the fantasy football thread and post your pre-season picks.

RC I know you already joined so lets see those picks.

Glad to see someone else rating the 49ers. I am suprised about your Redskins pick though. They seem to be the weakest in their division to me.

I agree with most of your picks, except I don't see Texas winning the Big 12 South. It will be OU or A&M (alumni homer pick).

Also, I'm not sure that the 49ers are ready to overtake the Seahawks, and I actually think this might be the year the Jacksonville Jags win the AFC South.

I don't think A & M are quite there yet though OU could pose a threat.

Seattle are a great team and in Hasselback and Alexander have two key offensive players that could get them far in the weak NFC but I think Alexander's best years are past him and injuries could severly hamper him ike they did last year. Also with Gore the 49ers have a pro bowler at RB and with another year under his belt hopefully Alex Smith can continue his improvement.

All discussion for the new football season. Here are my preseason picks:

NFC East: eagles
NFC North: bears
NFC South: saints
NFC West: seahawks
Wild Cards: cowboys, 49ers

AFC East: Patriots
AFC North: ravens
AFC South: Colts
AFC West: Chargers
Wild Cards: broncos, bengals

Super Bowl: pats over bears

NCAA: BOOORING

as usual, I'm a biased prick, but the pats were one minute away from the super bowl which they would have easily won, and they've made the best signings by far. moss will not flop, adalius thomas was the best defensive pick up made in the offseason by any team, asante had a fluke year and won't be missed but he probably will still come back, maroney is good enough to carry the running game etc etc etc.

considering i don't follow all the off season stuff....

Can anyone tell me how the eagles are looking ??

They are solid as usual. Mcnabb's knee still hasn't completely healed but if it does and Westbrook has a repeat of last year then the Eagles could give theCowboys a run for that division crown. reciever isn't theirtrongest position but with Takeo Spikes adding to an impressive D they probably won't have to score much to win.

Don't have any favorites. I tune in for a game now and then. The only american football games I make a point of watching are the A&M games. And the Superbowl I guess.

The Aggies start off with Montana state on the 1st of September.

I just saw the schedule though and they have tough road games at Miami, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri.

NFC East: Dallas
NFC North: Chicago
NFC South: New Orleans
NFC West: Seattle

AFC East: New England
AFC North: Baltimore
AFC South: Indianapolis
AFC West: San Diego

NCAA: USC

BIG XII: Texas A&M :)

For Mr Marcello :)

I didn;t know MrMarcello was a Longhorns fan. Also Mehro ido you know PennyPacker? Seems you went to the same college.

I think their QB Campbell is a big improvement over Brunell. I think they will be improved on both sides of the ball as a result as their D won't spend the whole game on the field.

I think the Cowboys and Romo are overrated, the G-Men aren't that good and Manning can't handle the pressure plus the team hates the coach, and that the Eagles will be shaky as McNabb is coming off surgery and won't be 100% to start the season (ala Culpepper last year albeit not as serious).

Mr Marcello's a Longhorn. And yes both me and Penny are from TAMU but he joined this place after he graduated so no I don't really know him.

I agree about Romo. Loved it when he fecked up that FG attempt against the Seahawks. He has a good arm but he will buckle under pressure. Also this will probably be the year TO drama queens his way out of Dallas.

Redskins do have the offensive weapons in Portis,Moss and Randle-El BUT Cambell still doesn't have the experience and he will be playing in one of the most defensively sound divisions in the league. He has a rating of around 80 last year I think and he still needs another season under his belt for me to prove himself.

The Giants have a lot of stuff going on from Coughlinto Strahan to Manning but I still feel the biggest problem they will have will be replacing Tiki Barber.
Brandon Jacobs and Reuben Droughns just don't scare me as a 1-2 punch and I don't think either of them possess the receiving threat Barber had.

QB's have a big improvement their second year as a starter. And Campbell only became starter halfway through last season, so I think he will be a lot better this year.

As for my Bills, they won't be any good again.... :annoyed:

Generally QB's do improve but not if they play for the Redskins. Look at Brunell.

Here are my thoughts on the Bills:

1. Thank you for Nate Clements.

Thats about it.

Excellent O-line, good QB, and a real dark horse for the OROTY award in Marshawn Lynch.

Don't be too down on them, they aren't that bad at all.
