Cole Palmer | Chelsea Player

I'm starting to wonder what Guardiola is upto. Surely they can't afford to lose any more attacking players. His team is going to be made up of CBs, CMs, AM,s & STs.
He will now invent Catenaccio

With a £10M difference, we can probably consider this pretty much done.

Another 9 year contract attracting a player to their “project”.

Very skilful player capable of great moments but injuries and a bit of lack of self belief has held him back so far.
Would be sorry to see him go but Bernardo's contract extension and the signing of Doku have made it inevitable.

Kovacic plus £10M to get Cole Palmer :nervous:

Would definitely buy him at 45m. He is one of the youngster from City I always rate.

Genuinely don't understand what Pep and City are up to this summer with how much attacking depth they've lost and continue to lose.

He's a legend in my books now

He is one of the mandem. This is his life now. He’ll feel at home with Madueke, Nkunku, Chukwuemeka, Gusto, Sterling and Disasi.

How can a forward who never scored a PL goal be sold for £45m?

Kai Havertz once scored in a Champions League final. Just saying.

Palmer is what I thought Havertz would be when we signed him. Very tidy and silky on the ball, can beat a man, has an eye for a pass and can score. Havertz has shades of a great talent. 45m is a lot but the fact that we essentially got Palmer plus 20m for Havertz is a great business.

Arsenal must have been asking for crazy money for Smith Rowe if they're willing to go up to 45m for this guy

I'm sorry but that is just mental. I know he's shown a lot of promise and is highly rated by City, but he's 21 and has never scored a senior league goal. It's a huge leap of faith from Chelsea.

It might end up a great one, but at the moment it's just crazy money.

Apparently Joe Shields worked for City recruiting team, went to Southampton and bought Lavia there and then moved to Chelsea and bought Lavia there. He also rates Palmer very highly, so this seem like a move from him, Pep said a few weeks ago they'd only sell Palmer and most likely if they got a good offer, so Chelsea gave them that.

This one will look like a bargain in a few seasons.

You just know he wouldn't be sold at United, play bit part roles or go on silly loans.

Another one of a city’s promising academy players binned off.
Their academy is basically just a farm with zero interest in getting players into the first team.

What about Madueke and Sterling? Chelsea are ridiculous.

He'll cover the 10 position as well. We have the highest injury count in Europe for 3 seasons running. Already lost Nkunku and Carney as the 10 options and Madueke is injury prone. We're using Chilwell at LW ffs. We can't go into a season relying on Sterling and Mudryk.
