The People's President
What a pointless tweet.
All of our credit facilities/indentures have change of control provisions that require payoff if the club is taken over by new owners. All outstanding debt will be due at closing.Depends on the bank, the bank may require the debt be taken care of before the sale
Unless they invade Ukraine, the West will do nothing. Saudi Arabia's leader ordered the grisly execution of a journalist in which he was, while still alive, cut to pieces with a bonesaw, and it did nothing to prevent the Newcastle deal. He’s basically predicting an oligarch/state owned future that neither Liverpool or Manchester United can compete with.
He’s not wrong - the UK political leaders should really grow some balls here and do something so the two arguably biggest cultural institutions doesnt become either sportswashing tools or oligarch play toys.
Why will they? It is just another business investment from these rich states. The West has a defined set of allies. And these rich oligarch nations are the good guys, so to speak. He’s not wrong - the UK political leaders should really grow some balls here and do something so the two arguably biggest cultural institutions doesnt become either sportswashing tools or oligarch play toys.

To me that suggests they are already someway down the line and have this as a timetable for when the process is expected to complete by.
I think its a US consortium

We’re at that boring stage aren’t we. You know the one where we’ve all gone through the breaking news from reputable sources, excitement, speculation, hope, people talking like they have inside knowledge and then……feck all for ages.
It’s like the transfer forum in jan or summer but much, much more important.
I think its a US consortium
I think so, too. They will sell to someone they 'know'. Someone in their circle. Perhaps the fee will include more than just money.

Yeah, Gary Cotterill chasing ‘arrys car down as he pulls out of a pie and mash shop that’s owned by Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.Just need Harry Redknapp to pipe up saying he's been told by a big insider what's happening.
Like when he was adamant Ronaldo to Chelsea in the summer was happening.
Still don't get how they'll make loads of money in the current climate whilst trying to compete with the oil clubs.
Why are people celebrating this? I was expecting new owners for Christmas.

As ifWhy are people celebrating this? I was expecting new owners for Christmas.
Other than the word "if" then I love it.
They must be very confident of getting their valuation matched, as if they back out now then I dread to think what will happen, in fact you'd think they likely know already who is probably buying us.
Would have been nice to get it done that quick (and maybe a statement January signing to boot)Why are people celebrating this? I was expecting new owners for Christmas.
Well that’s news, I’ve heard otherwise that it depends but that’s great news. Happy to be rid of the debtAll of our credit facilities/indentures have change of control provisions that require payoff if the club is taken over by new owners. All outstanding debt will be due at closing.
Glazers own an NFL team right…I hope if it's US, it's one of those dick-swinging, NFL-owning ones, like the Boehly one. Even if it is though, Brighton's backroom team has already been bought out, so Paul Mitchell for DoF?
I hope a sale happens quickly enough for us to be on point for the summer.

I don’t want any US buyer but if it’s inevitable I just hope they don’t take dividends and all that shit, do actually invest in the facilities and fecking attend matches
This is partly why I'm skeptical of Ratcliffe being serious about bidding. Just a couple of months ago his people were saying that the club wasn't for sale. But these deals don't just happen on a whim, so part of me thinks the Glazers have indeed been willing to sell for a while now.To me that suggests they are already someway down the line and have this as a timetable for when the process is expected to complete by.

That's a fair point.Maybe Ratcliffe was told to button it for a while whilst they thought it over, which is why he came out with guff about them not wanting to sell, them been the "nicest people" and "proper gentlemen", which is clearly total crap, after initial news about him wanting to buy us.
The Glazers were probably surprised by him saying what he did, on the back of Chelsea selling for so much, then with the Super League been a non starter, and the unrest making the club spend so much again in the summer, they started to take it more seriously to the point of wanting out, which is why they are been so vocal about wanting sell all of a sudden to lure other bidders in, the reality is though that if they don't materlise Ratcliffe's bid will be accepted.
