Can you imagine  a massive collection pot being passed around OT for funding.

So Ratcliffe is forcing the delay? Is he arranging some zoom calls with Elliot i wonder? :nervous:

He gave his team the thumbs up after his 6 hours meeting at OT/Carrington. And then told his team back in London to now contact the United team to get the rest of the information and do some analysis and come up with a bid price ASAP. And check on the legal/contract obligations etc within 24hrs.

Wouldn’t put it past him, It’s the only way he could compete with Sheikh Jassim. What an exciting prospect eh? Not only is he not committing to clearing the existing debt but now he’s potentially taking loans not just from Goldman Sachs but also the Elliot group as well to fund his bid. Feck that shit!

The only way a fan bid would work is if there was a threshold, like being a season ticket holder for x amount of years. Would mean the price of a share would be drastically higher. Say bye bye to the club if his vision comes to fruition, he sounds like a chancer anyway.

Just a reminder that under the Zilliacus scheme, we would have sold Rashford. I'm all for fan ownership, but....

Except we wouldn't because it doesn't mean fans get to decide everything, fans have a say, not final decision makers

Why would he go to Elliot when he could get better rates or funding elsewhere. I’m sure he was anticipating raising his offer and has some form of contingency with his current lenders.

The fact Elliot are having to go through Raine to try and attach themselves to any bid shows where they stand.

Getting scared again now. With the Glazers the worst always happens so I'm gonna bet on them staying owners with Elliott investing in a minority stake to fleece the club

The Finnish guy is a pipe dream sort of situation where fans own half the club. However also in that scenario, the fans themselves shouldn't be involved in the decision making, as a whole they're idiots mostly.

Elliott, from what I heard in the past, is a nightmare scenario for the club.

Hopefully that’s the case. Don’t want them fecking vultures anywhere near the club.

Ratcliffe is obviously serious about this, hardly the behaviour of a 'chancer'. I still don't think he can compete with Qatar's bid but you have to applaud him for not giving up.

Broke boy behavior. I might ask him for his CV so I can get him a job. A couple of friends moonlight as security guards, I’m sure if I put the word out I can hook him up

I doubt even the Glazers do (although they’d probably be most likely to get involved with them). I’m pretty sure SJR wouldn’t want them involved and there will be more funds earmarked either from INEOS and/or his lenders to increase his bid I’m sure, he’d have known Glazers wouldn’t take the first offer.

Is the Thomas Zilliacus bid similar to how clubs in Germany are run? If so I'd be on board with that idea.

More similar to the brexit vote give everyone an opportunity to have a say on a topic 95% of people have no clue or the expertise to understand what they are doing or the consequences.

Hold on…

Sounds like this place.

Exactly. People think the fans would vote on every decision? Come on. Maybe vote in who the decision maker is, and/or a couple of elected fan representatives on the board. Isn't that how the 50+1 model is typically run?

OTOH, if this guy thinks hundreds of millions of fans are chipping in even a few quid, he's delusional. Doing that with only a fraction of that number of fans in 2005 could have prevented the Glazer's full takeover. It ain't gonna happen to anywhere near the extent he is talking about

Standard of posts on this place has really gone to shite. Lads thinking their funny when they just clearly aren't, adding nothing, clogging the place up. Brutal stuff.

Like with everything involving United it’s never black or white, there’s always a drama just around the corner but this drama is like the Dallas dream season, I’ll wake up and them cnuts will still own United…but hopefully I won’t see Avram in my shower…..(sicks up in mouth)

I think you'll find every single leave voter fully understood the consequences of leaving the single market and the customs union....

You're right though, on second thoughts might not be such a good idea!

Anyone citing figures is a bullshitter. It directly hugely negatively impacts both the seller and bidder for anyone to get a whiff of what one bidding party is offering. Why would either side leak this information?
