The difference is Boehly wasn't even a Chelsea fan, was he? Any United fan will know the progress that has been made -- and after last night I bet they won't change a thing, certainly on the footballing side incl Murtough.
The only person's job at risk maybe Arnold's. The new owner will want to put someone he trusts into the organisation to take care of his investment, whether his brother or someone else.
I think you probably didn’t read the post that this was an answer to? I answered a question. I didn’t try to say anything about Middle Eastern or Western morals. I don’t even believe there is anything such as Middle Eastern or Western morals. I was answering a direct question about what political reasons City’s owners would have for their investment. If you’re going to insult my integrity (has me by the balls, eh?), it would be decent for you to try to read what I write and the context I’m writing it in, and don’t automatically cut everyone from the same cloth.
Their importance has decreased, and the importance of the club’s history and heritage seems to have decreased alongside that…which, as you allude to, is unfortunate.
In other words, the very thing that made United what it is in the first place, which provided the platform for that global fan base…is now casually disregarded in the hope of receiving the near infinite wealth of this state affiliated bid. The club’s own history stands in stark contrast to the very notion of state ownership, and yet many don’t seem to care that the club’s name will be sullied by the association if it comes to pass.
So page 666 we need an update here and now I think.
The directors/board control a company, not the shareholders. A large shareholder with x% may do certain things sometimes (like call motions for vote, even appoint a director), but they cannot usually exercise direct control without >50%

I dont want to start this, all I will say is before accusing other countries of doing something, go make sure you have all the facts of what the Western countries did.

Where in my post have I said that LGBTQ are being stoned to death in Qatar? They are 2 different things that I have mentioned separated by a comma in my post. Also, LGBTQ are made to jump from roofs and made to jump again if they survive the first fall in some Islamic countries, I don't think that happens in Qatar though.

having 3/4 of the private shares indicates they are massively involved and probably have a few board seats too. There are two Sheikh’s on the board so maybe it’s them, but impossible to know.

A stadium that PSG don't even own and might be leaving? The idea that it's being owned by a state or owners worse than the Glazer's, who have cost the club more money than any other owners in the history of the sport and have also been incompetent (we still could have been successful in the last decade despite everything else if they were competent), is not the reality of our options.

Well I think it's probably more that many fans simply don't agree that the club's name will be sullied if they took over. Or not anymore than it already is by the Glazers at least.
I do understand reservations about the Qatari bid and I have some myself, but I don't see much threat (if any) to the history and heritage of Man Utd as that goes beyond any owner. What are you afraid of them doing exactly ?
