Club Sale | It’s done!

Ah God, this is getting very messy isn't in terms of opinions.

Ultimately though, this club is being taking over by somebody and we have absolutely no say in the matter. They could shit on their badge in their first press conference and there's feck all we could do about it. I'm just going to try and sit back, grab the popcorn and relax because it's not worth getting stressed out about.

At least we are doing alright on the pitch, ey?

I’ve been on holiday for a few days. Can somebody please summarise what has happened (if anything) Since Jim and Qatar bid on Friday

Has anyone posted the news from September 2022 when INEOS received 1.9bln in investment from…drum roll please…PIF (Saudi)

If after all this, we are given SJR and not Qatar, or even worse the Glazers stay, I'll be massively deflated.

It's squeaky bum time.

Glazers staying stories is just a tactic to get more money from the bidders. Their pointman Woodward leaving in hindsight seems like a signal of intention to begin the sale process.

At least Jim is being honest about where the money is coming from. No new debt on the club. Anything borrowed will be on them. We haven't had clarity on the existing debt yet either so hard to judge that.

What we've had from Qatar is clearly attractive as it's got a lot of our fans doing cartwheels dreaming of Mbappe already. However we know for a fact their bid isn't genuine as the guy who is fronting it hasn't got enough money. So why all the cloak and mirrors? Be honest and own it. We are being bought by the state / Royal Family if they get it. Everyone knows it so why continue the charade?
We are being bought out by the Al thani family, the Shiek is a member of that family and they haven't hidden. Maybe he is fronting the bid and has several partners behind the foundation he intends to form to use as a vehicle for the acquisition, only Raine and the Glazers would know.

Before Friday it was reported, by Shepard I believe, that the royal family intends to bid for the club. Now they have and its a clear distinction between them and the state as far as I am concerned.

What evidence is there for that? Genuinely curious
This article was posted by Stretty News the day after the bid was announced. How frequently do you think they gave transphobic opinion columnists slots before the takeover (the answer is zero)? A community isn't just the opinions of it's members, it's which opinions those members feel free to share.

Nothing has happened, save a report indicating that US vulture capitalists Elliott Investment Management are putting together financing that might allow at least some of the Glazers to retain control of the club (no sale). Raine Group have also asked the two public bidders (Ineos and Qatar) to refrain from any further public comments (in particular, saying anything at all that could be perceived as implied criticism of the Glazers).

Nothing else will happen now for at least a week or so while Raine filter through the bids for full or minority stakes.

How is that a clear distinction? They are the ruling family are they not?

Presumably they are using him as the front man as he was educated in England and is apparently a red like us.

How often do you think they had the chance to? In their pre match preview of United v Forest?

Thank you

One of the weirdest takes in this whole discussion is that the fans will all become transphobic or anti-women's rights or start supporting flogging for stealing and adultery and what not, if they support a Qatari take over of a football club of which they are "fans" of.
Where?

Because it shows how little they think of the broader football world, be it fans or regulators. They bought a World Cup hosting through corruption, they violated FPP at PSG, and now as a next step they're buying a football club using a frontman to go around multiple club ownership rules. The proper tits in all of this have been the regulators of the sport, but it's embarrassing that fans also welcome it in some instances.

Why are these leaches suddenly concerned about their reputation? Unless they really mean to stay on is their valuation isn't met?
They don’t give a feck what redcafe user MDFC Manager thinks of them or says in a public forum, but they damn well do care about what billionaires say. Fairly easy to understand why

Great so it now looks possible that the Glazers may retain some control of the club via the Elliot Investment group.

Now, I’m not saying people don’t have agendas but remember this when people praise journalists such as Delaney for exposing sport washing.

That’s flooded his timeline and he’s ignored it every time. There’s no way this deal isn’t going through if they’re allowed to start controlling the media never mind a football club.
Remember that next time Ten Hag is asked the obvious Qatar question and bats it away. Where you work doesn’t mean you’re selling out. I
By the same criteria the House of Saud control the Independent.
Honestly, forgetting United, how is that allowed? Shouldn’t the media be somewhat protected?

After extensive investigation...Khelaifi is uber confident that the deal will be done rather than it actually being agreed or rubber stamped. Seems to me that the Qataris will end up making the Glazers an offer they can't turn down.

Congratulation on grasping the point I was making.

I'll quote it below again just in case anyone else doesn't get it.

"A community isn't just the opinions of it's members, it's which opinions those members feel free to share."

A community with transphobes who are too afraid to speak up is a better one for trans people than a community where the same number of transphobes exist but are given space to be transphobic.
