This is just delusional wishful thinking, sorry to say. Guy fronting the bid is a private citizen and Chairman of a bank so there is a clear distinction between the state and him. We all know that the state is somehow involved and are probably funding it but this guy is as 'fit and proper' as they come.

If the PL couldn't cite human rights issue when the Saudis were coming in I doubt they would do the same here. The only hope for the Anti-Qatar faction is the Glazer greed but if the Qataris are willing to match, indications today are that this isnt a take it or leave it offer its subject to adjustment, then this is done. Having seen Avram Glazer in Qatar in the post world cup period one would assumethat the agreement has been reached and this is just its consummation.
'Delusional wishful thinking'

Mind-boggling to see the amount of people who are perfectly happy to see the club become a sportswashing vehicle for human rights abusing cnuts.
Sportswashing when it's Qatar or anyone from the Middle East but American or British. Massive trade partners with the Middle Easterners but you draw the line when it's Manchester United. Y'all can't even see how your media has fed you same info for decades and the brainwash was well and truly successful.

If any of you prefer this sorry excuse of a bid to Qatar's, please explain why

Get Brexit done, make America great again, British bid for a British club, put Manchester back in Manchester United = Nationalist racist bullshit

Honestly it reads like that but I could be reading too much into it. Then again Ratcliffe is a brexiteer.

The Glazers might prefer retaining some share under the Ineos bid

Maybe but then you think that they have been trying to sell a minority of shares for a number of years without any luck so why hold them if they will struggle to sell them until the next buyout plus no dividends.

Do they think Ineos will add value to the club? Difficult to see how they can improve the stadium, training ground and surrounding areas when the bid is based on borrowing money. Where’s funding going to come from for the improvements?

Hard to see what’s in it for the glazers to hold a minority share

I think an INEOS takeover would be less controversial and more straightforward.

Not if they’re still involving the Glazers. You’re also taking the assumption whoever else is part of the consortium is above board and not say worse than the Qataris.

BBC article was more like “it’s expected” and then went on to confirm 2 bids made. Any bid yesterday’s surely would have leaked by now dont you think?
They aren't leaked they're outright statements it seems. From the Qatar sheikh and Ratcliff anyway.

I dont see any reason not to have a public statement but it could be the case that other bids were made without an official line to the press.

I seem to remember Ratcliffe's offer included "incentives". Now we have this "majority" term. Gee whiz, I wonder what those incentives could be?

So you are basically in the business of making things up. I get it now.
Im not making up Mbappe being on a stupid salary, not working hard enough on the pitch and being undroppable regardless of his attitude.

Anyway, let's move on.

Between the "make Manchester United great again" spiel from Ratcliffe and the class of 92 stuff from Qatar, I'm now wondering if anyone else will at least make a less cringe bid.

Or double down and include a load of player quotes about how great Paul Scholes was in their statement.

When we're relying on Americans to be the least cringey... oh dear.
