Let's be honest this isn't about PR anyway. The Glazers only care about the highest bid so Ratcliffe doesn't really need to bother with all that.
I think it is important. If he turned the fanbase against all other bids it could have an impact. Only way he can win. Not going public with his intentions is a missed opportunity in my eyes. The Qatari bid has been leaking PR gold for the last week - if he’d got ahead of that he could have turned people against it. It’s a shame as I think his is the only bid that could have unified everyone. He needs to get a proper statement out there.

They are being careful in presenting this deal as private investment. Abu dhabi deal for Mancity and PSG deal by QSI were mentioned directly as State investment if i remember correctly

Man City has always been portrayed as private ownership, Mansour owns City through ADUG.

Nope. But they let them set up offices in Qatar in 2012. Not really making me warm to a Qatar bid.
From what I understand...Qatar is a small country trying to realpolitik many bigger countries like Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia. I think you should stop focussing on the British aim and what Qatar aims for its own regional security.

I don't think they hosted the Taliban because they thought it was a great idea but because they have major regional actors on their borders.

That Mikeluhg clown has 22k followers on it. Says it all. Football Twitter is a cesspit.
That clown still bangs on about how much Mourinho was wronged to this day and how much he hates the club and its players for it

Absolute virus tarring the LUHG name/movement

That's not what im saying. The people who are responding to those who have issues with some of the problems with Qatar by saying "but look, the Glazers are naff people too".

Everyone who can buy is are naff people. Qataris are a dictatorship, inios are killing the planet.

Not just those two bids either, everyone who can afford Manchester United are terrible people. That is why they can afford us.

Nah they are just trolls. Look at the spelling and grammar on those posts.
Doesn't matter, they believe in what they say. I just hope we do not succumb to the owners whim and fancy.

Example, we will now probably go to Qatar during the summer and the LGBTQ+ fans won't be able to do there an support the team for the fear of persecution. Sucks.

You make it seem like we've not spent an absolute fortune on utter shit. We are known for overpaying fees and wages. feck the Glazers they loaded the club with debt but United has always been a commercial entity, which Nice isn't.

Exactly why I think Radcliffe would be a disaster here.

Care to read this:

His aim was to improve Nize to challenge PSG, he hasn't done it. He's made them worse.

Not sure what you and the other person gain from being cnutish about posts like that? He's not asking you to feel the same way, or expression some moral superiority.

Shut up. Not every day pity party.

"Anybody else feels gutted?" is clearly an invitation for circle jerking about the supposed lost soul of Manchester United - the multinationally traded company, which fans have been protesting to be sold for damn near two decades.

Besides, there are simple solutions if you're feeling gutted. I presented one.

Ole coming back under Ratcliffe? No thanks. He would keep the Maguires, McToms and Bissakas and along with Jones offer them a new contract.

Even assuming they were the same thing (and they aren't) the US government aren't trying to buy United.

And sports washing is all about improving your image while changing as little as possible. With added playing with shiny toys.

So I'm guessing you're going to be all over the Police reform, Black Lives Matter and gun control when we have the World Cup in North America next, right? Nice! And, yes, they are the same thing.

But the PR isnt there for winning the bid but the fanbase trust. The PR is for what comes after.
From what I read of that the debt stays the same, nothing about infrastructure or investment but noise about a 70 year old man being the long term British custodian and how Dan James should never have been sold

Well yes but it's all very early stages. The Qatari's are on a charm offensive because they have a certain reputation and some people would have you believe Sportswashing isn't a thing.

I don't get the Dan James bit, but I'm not overly happy with the line of not adding more debt to the club. If he does win, which I'm not overly optimistic about, I'd expect INEOS to take our debt on too otherwise we won't be strengthening our squad enough to properly challenge as soon as we'd like.

Qatari’s must be looking at that statement from Ratcliffe thinking “Alhumdullilah, we have nothing to be worried about here Mashallah”

It is what it is. As soon as the Glazers took us over we were fecked. I will still support the club, but have massive respect for the ones with the balls to just quit.
I don’t believe them one bit. It’s easy to declare the moral high stand on the Internet but when you are a fan for decades it’s not just easy to quit like who is even keeping an eye on them whether they would support or quit? There is no way to prove otherwise but I bet they would still be watching us and celebrating every goal.

No mention of clearing current debt in Jim's bid or anything on Stadium or our future really.

Honestly sounds an awful prospect to get him.

If he was gonna do those things he would say it!

Sprtswashing is a thing.

But Qatar, which just hosted the worlds largest sporting competition, doesn't need it.

They have absolutely no need to bothe rabout what you or I think about them. The peopel that matter love them already.

I won't be surprised to see that regurgitated as truth by some here to say how bad Ratcliffe is

You do realise that every football club is rooted in its locality? That’s the literal heart and soul of the club. So depressing how many fans don’t get this.
I agree but I'm pretty sure some Wimbledon fans wouldn't

Yeah and if you don't feel gutted as he does, ignore it, as opposed to an unneeded jeering response. I'd understand your twatty retort if he was trying to impose his views, but he wasn't. Apparently him wanting to see if other fans feel the same way as he does triggered your flight or asshole response? Might want to check why.

And in the long term when we have completely morphed into a circus like PSG? Will be tough luck, they will treat us as their plaything forever more and we are stuck with them for better or worse. At least if Ineos fail they will sell on.

Why do you think PSG is a complete circus?

They're a ligue 1 club that has absolutely crushed their league and it's competing in the UCL every year. They have am impressive squad full of world-class players.

Ask any PSG fan wether they're happy with the Qatar takeover, see what they answer.

It's not a matter of wether they failed or not, PSG has been slowed down due to FFP. We don't have that break, we can be heavily investing year after year, have players of the calibre of Neymar, Mbappe and Messi. We'll finally compete with City, go back to competing for big titles instead of top 4.

Radcliffe will fail here, I would rather keep the Glazers than change to him. He's a small time billionaire full of good intentions but without the proper numbers to fully invest the way we need.

This is the new era, I rather be the big dog than watch us slowly fade like we've had in the last year's.

If Radcliffe succeed and somehow Qatar changes their way into Liverpool it's over. We'll be doomed to be a second tier club forever. Let's take this opportunity with both hands and return this club to the place we belong.

It's very revealing when folk just can't comprehend principles.

It's a bizarre thing to lie about. It sucks but it's not a crack addiction.

But we already have people disregarding their human rights record and treatment of LGBT+, basically normalizing this behavior. And they haven't even taken over.

1. Those people never gave a feck about human rights or LGBT+ rights
2. Those regimes don't care about what those people think
3. Not getting football clubs would make no difference to human rights or LGBT+ rights in those countries
