Echo this, mods need to step in here!

I wasn't referring to you, although looking at some of your posts i can see why you might think i was.

i was referring to the @Wumminator who openly went after an Islamic Redcafe member asking him his stance on homosexuals, then berated him for his answer which has NOTHING to do with this thread topic and also @redcucumber who has stated he doesn't want to be owned by a state with a ' weird religion' great job guys you may be tolerant of sexuality preferences but you lack severely in religious tolerance and understanding.

When the mods finally see all this crap they're going to have a lot of work to do.

Nobody feels as connected to their place of work, the manufacturer of their car, or their political party as they do to the football club they support (unless they are complete weirdos). It's a false equivalence which seem to be regularly made in this thread in attempting to justify why United being state backed is completely fine.

How do you know nobody feels like that about those things and why, if they do, are they any more weird than those of us who get highly emotional about 22 human beings most of us don't know personally, running around kicking a ball on a football pitch? It's only a false equivalence for you. I still argue it is very similar and I will say again, I do not make this point because I want to justify Qatari ownership of United - I don't want them to buy the club and never have. I also will be honest and say I won't walk away from United if they do but will remain opposed personally to any human rights issues in the world including any Qatar are responsible for.

Feel better after your tirade?

The fact you studied History at one of those Universities tells me all I need to know:D The Propaganda based educational system. Kaboom!

Goodbye!
:wenger: is this how you speak to people in real life as a 'doctor'?

'I'm sorry sir but you have an inoperable brain tumor........kaboom!!'

its only him and two other guys, so it’s certainly possible that they just wanna have some fun with sports teams in their old age

they are all billionaires obviously
Someone else corrected me on that as well thanks, forgot who, sorry to them. I could have sworn I read Ineos had 300+ investors but their last accounts are clear enough, only three with over 5% equity. Quite some achievement building up the organisation really, I can't even imagine it myself.

I still think they are chancers after a profit personally. We will have to see if they actually make a competitive bid or not I suppose, everyone says they're rich enough - if they want to.

……& this is why it has been so quiet and people have gone to panic stations this whole time

Isn't everything corporate bullshit? Do you think we would have rainbow laces and shirt number if companies didn't gain value from it? Plus, you've got genuinely no idea that the lads making the bid aren't opposed to the human rights policy in their own country. I don't agree with Brexit, I didn't vote for it and yet Swede's speak to me like I'm the one who had the final say in the matter and I'm solely responsible, just because some muppets in England didn't want straight bananas. It's a silly game to start using broad strokes to set your stall.
Correct me if I am wrong but ...... "According to Una Galani, QSi "is thought to be owned by the [Qatar] finance ministry and the Qatar Olympic Committee."[4] QSi is subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the state-run sovereign-wealth fund in Qatar.[5][6] "

So it's a Qatari government-funded entity, and the government also sets its social policies.

Because empty corporate pandering while maintaining repressive policies back home doesn't wash with me.
Sure, no problem with that.

I see it differently though, it tells me that they've got domestic policies which we see as abhorrent but they aren't interested in enforcing the same outside.

For me, that delineation is sufficient to not impact my support of the club.

Yes talking and typing is the same :wenger: - I don’t even have my real name here!

Your saying I have a brain tumor! WTF :wenger:

Kaboom!

Noice!

A Saudi-Qatari-Musk-Taliban-Trump ownership with Beckhams face on it!

Just needs some African lord of war for the brown-brown and the gold plated ak47s.

Can this get any better???

Whoops! I've outed another intolerant fool. The terminology I used is correct and politically correct too, nice try though.
Explain to me what I’m intolerant of? Your tone is so infantile I can’t comprehend how an adult can have discussions of this nature online. It’s embarrassing.

Goldbridge had stated that according to two of his sources the club will be sold to Qatar if UEFA give the green light. Thus well done to the SJR supporters as they will probably get their man as owner of Manchester United.

I was actually just messing about mate, but you do you.

And I never said you have a brain tumor by the way, try reading posts properly next time.

We'll have no fans left! May have to borrow some from the 100 city fans

I thought this was a different committee bidding for United? Anyway, people vote for the policies they want to be governed by, you can still work for a government and not fully believe in all the policies. Either way, we haven't even seen who's involved yet and we know nothing about them, all this noise goes away if they buy United and pump a bunch of money into an LGBQT+ related charity. It's just a bunch of "what if" right now.

You acted offended by something that wasn't offensive in an attempt to undermine what I had said and you think my tone is infantile? I'm not even going down this route with you, this threads gone downhill enough.

I want access to the 'data room'.

I imagine it will just be a whole load of metrics with red downward trending charts and sad faces.

The Tweets only thread should be pinned to the top of the page like the transfer rumours forum.

This thread has everything. Racists, ones for who "United will cease to exist" if Qataris take over, some who think Qataris will enforce their laws at OT so no gays will be allowed entry and they will have to abide the sharia law if they want to keep supporting United. Then we have extreme leftists, some that Qataris buying the club will be a dream come true and finally a group that seems to be level headed and can see both sides. This thread has potential to be the worst in RedCafe's history especially if Saudis enter the race.

Imagine being judged by something that's killed 40,000 innocent people in Syria and Turkey because you fancy the same sex.
Let's not go there. This thread is about Man Utd sale and not about someone's religious views.

The reality is, corporations all across the world do horrible stuff on a continuous basis. Take Nestle for example; child labour, pollution, unethical selling of formula in third world countries, and many other things. Has anyone here made a conscious effort to stop buying Nestle products?

Big pharma must be one of the most corrupt and horrible industries known to man. Did anyone watch Dopesick and the Oxy epidemic in the US? But we need these guys to survive, and they know that and take advantage of millions of people on a daily basis.

It doesn't excuse the actions at all just because others have done it, but we can't pick and choose what we want to be social justice warriors about. Qatar investment may be good or bad for the game long term, I don't really know. But I do know it's just about the best outcome that could happen as a Manchester United fan. And when it comes to football, I want to enjoy it, not be some sort of activist.

That doesn't mean we don't condemn human rights issues. It's a real tricky one, but it's far from black and white. Main lesson for me is; People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I was happy to brand City as an oil club long ago. You never know what's around the corner. But I think Middle Eastern investment was inevitable for a club like United in the modern day if we want to stay relevant.

Controversial take maybe but I’d suggest sticking to football. At least for now. Maybe a separate thread can be made once the new owners are in place to discuss all these issues.

It's not really about ownership. It's the fact that some seems to think that a 'horrible' owner will reflect on them as a person. They are trying to rationalise it or express their conflict within themselves.
Afterall new ownership as fans isn't something that we have any control or ability to influence.

Same shite has been tumbling on and on fr the last 300 pages

That's a weird take I doubt anyone thinks it reflects on them personally. It reflects on the club as an institution obviously as all entities have a responsibility not to support human rights abusers. We'll be silent on it like good little lap dogs.

It'll also reflect on our future success which is the sad part. Ten Hag would probably drag us to success by his own efforts but now success will always have the added commentary of oil money. If we turn a corner the same time as Qatar buys us they'll always be part of the legacy. That's the bit I find most disgusting.

It has been a rollercoaster.

Why would it be blocked. No owners ever get blocked.

Would be unfair to start now

This thread is madness the mods are just sat there like Michael Jackson in the popcorn gif

cant say i'd blame them, its great fun, i checked in as soon as I heard that Elon may be getting involved just to see the knickertwisting of some here. i think Elon and Qatar should go half and half Dragons Den style.

Love where you're going with it mate!

Adding Nestle and Pfizer to the game!

Standing in line to get into OT for the game, waiting for my obligatory vaccine shot (but not in the ass!!) , with a welcoming chocolate sugar drink by Nestle afterwards and a complementary dope bag under the seat courtesy of the Taliban.

Driving home in my Tesla

I can’t say I’ve ever been impressed by the way PSG has been run. Yes they’ve spent money, but it’s often looked so poorly managed and as if no one really knows what they’re doing on the football side or things.

Hopefully they get the right people in place here, and if the right people are already in place, leave them to it.

We could certainly do without Leonardo being appointed Director of Football, that's for sure.
