Club Sale | It’s done!

Of course, he's expecting the value of his shares to increase and/or to take full control. I dont think anyone is debating that point?

The post I was replying to was suggesting that a full takeover was the only real takeaway, which honestly seems like a much less likely option at the moment - Radcliffe can't afford to match their current valuation, so we're stuck with the Glazers unless things get so bad they're willing to jump ship. Neither of those outcomes signal anything good for United.

Looks like Qatari are pumping up the fans, to show them what they are missing0. :D.

I mean not really pumping us up, they've always stated this was what they wanted to do. It's a shame, Glazers will pocket Sir Jims money nothing will go into the club and we'll be where we are with a crumbling Old Trafford and behind the times training facilities in 10/20 years time.

Seems strange that the Glazers are happy to write off future business with Qatar, feels like they've been pissing about all along.

It's all so depressing, all three options in truth.

For this to have dragged on for this long and this outcome is sadly what we should have expected. Those greedy Glazers always want more more more. Such a shame the state of our club.
My guess is the whole thing about Glazers being not 100% owners and what to do with the other owners' shares was a big hiccup that Ratcliffe had to deal with so it dragged on and switch to a minority start while he goes through that probably longer process.

People are going crazy on Twitter. Had they been more than keyboard warriors Glazers would need serious protection.

At the moment, not sure any Arab country would want to do business with them.

I’m officially done with this club. Unfollowed the club on Twitter, deleted the United app and won’t be going to Old Trafford this season at least.

Not singing in the Raine then I take it?

Manchester United is bound to stay a place 3-8 team anyway now, 100% that this will be the case at least the next 15 years. I bet my house on it

Well it depends on if you believe the reports or not. The most positive outlook is that there's a binding agreement to complete a 100% takeover in 3-6 years and have majority control in as little as 1 year. Ineos would also be allowed to inject funds immediatly with full control over where those funds go. I'd say that's way way better than a non sale.
Why would Ineos inject money in a club they don't fully own? It's basically free money for the remaining 75% shareholders. Makes zero sense.

The club will pretty much remain as it is, with no additional investment or debt clearance whatsoever. Then maybe in few years when Ratcliffe fully takes over something might happen, which we don't really know if he can afford it or not.

Id take that right now as I fear much worse.

I mean should be wanting this, we have just spent the last 15 years been disgusted that City have had similar lavished on them for no reason other than sportswashing, which is ultimately what this was only ever about with us.

I guess the question is, what voting rights is Jim buying? If I’m not mistaken, glazers had all the voting rights and 25% shares were on the NYSE. So now Glazers presumably have 2/3 voting rights and Jim the remainder?

The 25% purchase is the investment, assuming it goes into the club and not straight into Glazer pockets (which I doubt), and he's making that investment as he expects to receive more money over time than he's paying for that 25%. The Glazers have made lots of money from us, despite being terrible owners, and with the talk of better TV deals etc there's a possibility that dividends and valuations will increase dramatically.

We have zero knowledge of where that 25% goes. Could go to The Glazers, could be split between Glazers and minority shareholders and it could be all going to minority shareholders, so lets not assume anything.

Also, tell me why he would make only a 25% investment?
This sale process shows a) the Glazers dont want to full sale and b) there is a minute pool of potential buyers. Practically only Sovereign Wealth funds have the money.
So if you take a 25% stake in a business in the hope that you can flip that in the future, then you better be sure that someone will want to buy that stake. This process has showed how difficult it that actually is.

It's possible that this is a stepping stone to full ownership, but it's also possible that we're adding another leech to the existing group sucking the club dry. Time will tell.

Of course it is. 70 year old man isn't investing to make a profit if and when a bigger fish comes in a buys the whole club for 10+bil. He wants to come in, take control and be lorded as the man who saved Man United.

If he wanted to make a profit, he would continue to do what has already made him the richest man in England.

Is your house worth splitting between all the people in this thread that'll call bullshit on this?

Then again, you've said 3-8, so your conviction is as good as a Michael Owen expert opinion.

So they could outvote him, or say if you want to do that you will have to invest your own money.

So what happens to the debt with a full Ineos takeover?

Iv’e heard that they’d pay off £250 million with the remainder paid off by the club.
If that’s true then we are financially fecked from an FFP standpoint, right?

They would inject money because they will own 100% in 3-6 years and have majority control in as little as 1 year. That's what's been reported, you can either believe it or not. If it's true, I think it's a huge win for the club.

If they have a binding path to get control over the club then why wouldn't they?

What INEOS takeover? Jim isn't getting 1% more of the club in his lifetime.

I’m absolutely done with the club, I swore I would never go to OT whilst these leeches were in control, and I saw a glimmer of hope that i would be able to take my son as he has never been. That hope has now gone, I’ll keep the good memories that I still have as this club has no soul. This is not the club that I grew up with and supported for 45 years.

I thought the rumor was they'd transfer it onto themselves, essentially clearing the clubs name?

Early on in this process I remember a gay fan posting about how he couldn’t support the club if Qatar took over. He got told to “not let the door hit him on the way out”
I posted a report from Amnesty international decrying Qatar’s human rights record and they were lambasted as being woke and virtue signalling.

I hope our gay fans are sleeping easier tonight. I hope whichever heaven the dead migrants highlighted by Amnesty are in are smiling down on this decision.

I do believe we have a long road back to the top. But we are doing it the right way. And to me that means so much.
I hope everyone can understand that.
Bloody hell
