Club Sale | It’s done!

No doubt the parasites are buying up cheap United shares in another name to make even more money. Horrible, horrible people which deserve far more ammo directed towards them. Should never be allowed in the UK again.

They can’t really say much though tbf.
Of course they can, it's a sale negotiation, the rounds of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd bids was like a quickfire auction and now we've had complete silence for 3 months.

The fact there hasn't been named a preferred bidder yet shows the Glazers are not serious about selling.

It was reported the bid on the table by the Qataris will be the final offer, yet they haven't heard back if they've been successful, guess its a game of who blinks first.

The share price fall seems too big to just be movements based on rumour - someone knows something

The papers will say the Glazers are losing money with the price fall but if they want to take the club private then a lower share price benefits them

The relatively small float means our shares have always been open to manipulation

There’s 54m class A shares in total. They haven’t got the money to buy them all to take it private.

The tanking of the share price is nothing to be concerned about, just like the pumping of the share price is nothing to get excited about.

This is simply minority shareholders responding to fundamentals and the news that is released. It’s simply speculators responding to likelihoods.

Glazers will hardly lose sleep over it as it doesn’t have any impact on their 69% of shares which is what they are selling. The offer they have for them is already nearly double the share price.

If anything, I would say this is a good time to purchase some of those class A shares for a short term trade or medium term hold. The sale of Utd is by no means over.

If they wanted to take it private they would have done it at $13

How papers/news sites are allowed to just bounce the share price around like crazy based on speculation/fabrication is beyond me.

Jesus a near 20% drop and people thought the news on the weekend could be outright bollocks

So the bidders claim they've heard nothing back since their last bids, but Keegan says the negotiations are "ongoing". With who? Both things can't really be true, at least not in the sense they want people to believe. The Glazers not have ended the process, but nor do they appear to be engaging with it, or progressing it in any way.

This fvcking club. Honestly.

Watched Trading Places earlier and thought, "This is Joel and Avram's staff recruitment policy."

They'll could get a minority investment partner - they already had offers

Not if they just decided - the stock market listing has been an issue for them in selling (buyers like Sheikh Jassim will definitely see it as a negative and the shareholders have threatened legal action) plus it forces them to do a lot of financial reporting that they probably don't want to do

There's been a notion on this forum that it's been total radio silence between the Glazers and the bidders for months but the Times article states that "there was contact between the relevant parties last week."

This doesn't reveal much but it contradicts the view that the bidders have been ghosted.

I'd say there's quite a lot of doubt actually, seeing as that would be highly illegal and severely punishable

So does that mean that the possibility of an outright sale has gone?
If the share price has sunk that low?

Does Ratcliffe still have a chance?

Let them keep the club for another two years. We’re going nowhere fast. They’ll soon regret it.

Man Utd aren’t the attractive club they were 10 years ago. The stadium is falling down. We literally use a credit card for transfers.

We can’t sell players. We sign 60 year old players like Jonny Evans from relegated sides as backup.

We’re fecked. And the sick part is, I want it all to just crash and burn now and watch the Glazers be forced to panic sell.

The worst thing that happened last season was Utd securing top 4. It’s kept the Glazers around.

Yeah I know it's despicable to wish that on your own team, however right now we look finished and in dire need of a new start

The Times article tonight.

The value of Manchester United has plummeted by more than £500 million amid growing uncertainty over the future ownership of the club.

Seemingly prompted by recent claims that the Glazer family may take the club off the market, United’s share price on the New York Stock Exchange at one stage dropped by 21 per cent on Tuesday. The shares closed down 18.2 per cent, valuing the business at $3.2 billion (£2.55 billion). It was the biggest fall in the stock since it went public in August 2012. The previous biggest one-day drop was on March 11, 2022, when it fell nearly 14 per cent.

United have been for sale since last November, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos emerging as favourites to complete a £5 billion takeover alongside a Qatari consortium led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani.

As recently as last weekend, sources close to the sales process insisted Raine, the New York bank commissioned by the Glazers to sell the Premier League side, was still working to secure a deal for their clients.

At the same time, the two main bidders have not been informed that United is no longer available. Indeed, there was contact between the relevant parties last week.

After ten months, there is no doubt that the main bidders are becoming exasperated by the delays to the completion of any sale.

In the case of the Ratcliffe proposal, a deal which has been focused principally on first acquiring the Glazers’ 67 per cent stake ahead of a full takeover, there have been legal complications that have needed to be resolved.

I wouldn't say it's dead, but this is the strongest indication that the Glazers are not going to sell.

But all options are still on the table, including taking the club private and coming back to the market in the future.

It could be a scenario they are just exploring for the moment and details of that have been leaked - doesn't mean it's definitely happening.

And if the club was genuinely off the market, i'm fairly certain they'd have been told way before any news broke in the media, and with that, i'm sure they'd have publicly annoucned they were withdrawing from the process. That in it's self would have been a dead giveaway that something had changed. As it is, nothing has changed, everything seems the same, so theres nothing really to worry about in my opinion.

Seems to be more posturing from the Glazers, or one of the Mails sources have seriously led them astray with some very very dodgy news!

My interest in football is waning now. Just feel like the club has been destroyed by outside interests,

Assuming they are selling (a big assumption), the delay is probably because the Glazers prefer the Ratcliffe bid which will be more complicated to get over the line.

Great, now NRK in Norway (equivelant of the BBC) is going by what was reported in Daily Mail several days ago.

I believe it's Joel and Avi that prefer the Ratcliffe bid as it leaves them with some form of control, but the other 4 want the Qatar offer as it gives them the money now. So it's a bit of Glazer civil war going on at the moment. Plus SJR has the issue then of the Class A shareholders wanting to file a lawsuit over his bid too, so it's full of issues that are quite likely not going to be resolved.

Agreed, it would be a massive around the houses operation if they did not relay the news to the buyers before leaking to a new Daily Mail source.

You would imagine if they were actually withdrawing they would have said to the buyers you have until x time on x day to improve your bids and then that is it we will withdraw if you don't get your bid up to x$s.

Someone said back in Spring that it is unlikely a deal will go through till November at least. I'm sticking optimistically behind that.

I haven't watched a game for weeks. My mental health is far better for it. I've completely checked out from the game now - modern football is horrible.

Just the chance for Sigrid Jässim to buy the club with the petro-capital of the sovereign fund.

I think the 'negotiations' right now are basically:

Glazers: Give us more money

Jim/Jassim: No we are already paying you more than it's worth

Glazers: Okay fine, well we'll be here

Technically that is still 'ongoing negotiations' and the lack of any solid news about anything happening for months now makes me think that this is where we're at

Each to their own and fair play to you but what do you get out of it now? Being on a football forum discussing united?

Just interested. Not having a dig
