Even still, ONE outright bidder…

It’s embarrassing for them.

They surely thought Saudi or some other financial giant would come in and a proper bidding war for their ‘prize asset’ would ensue.

One fecking outright bidder

It’s just so Glazers.

I'm in awe of your hit 'em up remix.

PS let's pray keefe d rots in jail ...

Back on topic. Qatar then ..

1989

The Berlin Wall comes down. The very same week that the big wall fell over (cowboys, Ted!), hugely popular British TV soap Emmerdale Farm was renamed to 'Emmerdale.'
To this day many important historians with strokey pointed beards debate which event has had the most impactful uhh, umm, impact on the cultural landscape.
Meanwhile, tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy nutjobs insist that the wall coming down was a false flag operation devised to distract the sheeple from the Emmerdale Farm rebranding.
The Emmerdale sheep were none too impressed either.
This all came to be known as 'Berlinwallgate'. Which only served to confuse people really.

Also in 1989, Fanta Stick has his first tiddy-wank.

In your face Mr. Gorbachev!

im a bit confused on the stadium investment issue. When is a new stadium supposed to be built? That couldnt wait another 5 years of them just lingering around as now

I am with you on this. The Stadium is in dire need of a facelift at the very least and more likely a pretty extensive renovation adding capacity or as had been mooted even a new stadium altogether. We still need to build facilities for the Womens team and our training facilities are not on a par with our rivals and yet...

None of this is essential. The notion that there is some sort of clock on this or that it has to be addressed is pretty much fan wish fulfillment. If the Glazers don't want to spend there is nothing compelling them to do so.

If they want to continue to let the facilities languish for a few more years whilst the tv revenue and CL money increases there really is nothing stopping them. It is clear they have tightened the purse strings this summer and they may well view ETH as someone who can work miracles for them like SAF did and they can maintain a net spend of 100M or less per season going forward which the club can easily afford whilst paying them dividends.

Well, we need to play somewhere while a new stadium is being built and it's not going to happen overnight.

I just don't believe you can keep delaying.

The delusional cnuts thought they were getting 7 billion for an asset that they've devalued and run into the ground through gross mismanagement. All the potential investors can see how much work needs doing and how expensive it's all going to be, there was never going to be a mega bid. Sorry Joel and Avram but it's time you both woke up to reality.

That's a very generous appraisal of the remaining 8 pages
Well the countdowns had some interesting if irrelevant stuff, but lets face it, no one knows what is going on and never have, it's virtually all speculation for speculations sake :)

It is going to take a spectacular turn of events to break this stalemate.

It seems the media have turned towards what is described as a "pause". It started with the Athletic article last week and Jackson followed by Keegan emphasised to lack of communication pointing towards the process always being just a "strategic review".

I think there is little hope of a full takeover now.

I would say no hope unfortunately

IF, the sale doesn't go through, where does it leave the Glazers for a future sale where they commit? It feels like an offer to good to refuse at this point, so what are they expecting to get in a few years if they stick around???

On the bright side I think now is when they are mort likely to get the most money from a club sale. If they want to keep the club in their ownership then they gota stump up the money to keep us afloat, this ain't gona come cheap.

The plus side is their share holding will diminish because they can't fund the club privately so will have to seek finding in exchange for them releasing more equity into the open market.

And if they refuse this sale then I presume they will be an issue with their business pitch to the banks

The longer this drags on the less likely it is they’re going to sell, at least it certainly feels that way. Their level of greed and/or incompetence is astonishing. The fact they’ve basically put feck all money in during their 18 year stint as owners and are still pondering walking away from £5.5b worth of pure profit is insane.

Seeing as you leeching scum now are intent on staying then at least give Erik the funds to rival Bayern for Kane. Surely he deserves a least that for the way you have fecked him over in January

Doesn't sound like anybody is pulling their bid anytime soon though.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an increased bid at some point.

Nah more chance they both pull out and sadly that sends us back to square one. Basically makes these last 8 months a complete waste

Is it bad that I sort of want to see the carnage that will come from this if they decide not to sell?

Really drive home the message to the cnuts.

Yeah quite honestly I want to see it now, however as others have said there isn't going to be the utter carnage we all hoped would happen when takeover doesn’t materialise

A while back there was an article that said some or all of them believed the club could be worth $10b within a few years.

if they believe it's worth £6bn now that's only ~8% per annum compounded for a few years in a row

It won’t go that way.

Football’s changed and they blatantly can’t accept it.

Owners now have to have big balls and go all in or get left behind.

Guys like the Glazers and Levy are done, the writing’s on the wall for them but they likely are too egotistical and insulated to see it. At least in the Glazers case anyway. Levy I have a feeling will cash in to a foreign owner when a big bid comes in.

In a few years you’ll have Newcastle in full swing, very possibly another Saudi club in the PL, City, Chelsea, Liverpool if Klopp stays, plus a Jassim owned club going all out against each other.

There just isn’t room for incompetent old weaklings like the Glazers or (imo) Ratcliffe. They can’t hang with the big boys anymore.

All that coupled with the fact that Utd needs a billion of investment and savvy decisions just to keep up - neither of which they’re capable of offering and it seems blatantly obvious that the cushy little grift they’ve had going for 20 years is done.

If they cling on, they’ll end up losing money imo.

Sadly they’ve spent their entire existences in a Floridian nepo baby bubble and thus they clearly can’t see this.

You do realize that Levy doesn't own Spurs

Sorry, Lewis. I just always think of their ownership as Levy. The point remains, I think they’ll sell if a Jassim comes calling.
I don't think they will, Spurs have a traditionally large Jewish fanbase, I can't see them being bought be a Arab/Muslim entity

Is it insane though? If you bought a house 20 years ago on a 100% mortgage, and it was worth 550k today, what would the factors be that would affect your decision to sell (or not)? It sure as hell isn't what's happened in the past, it's about what you predict for the future. If they think Utd are going ro be worth £10bn in a decade, then a) purchase price and b) current value aren't really a factor.

The only way United will ever get to such an evaluation is through heavy investment. I just don’t see this as a viable option for them…

A while back there was an article that said some or all of them believed the club could be worth $10b within a few years.

That seems like a very linear estimation rather than an adjusted estimation. To add an extra $4bn in 5 years seems extreme, let alone two or so.

I just feel the delusion of the Glazers is reaching the epitaph. This will be the best they get in my opinion, and backing out will be reputational damage, leading to a de-valuation.

Completely agree with all that.

Just announce you are staying, may as well because majority of fanbase has accepted it now
