Club Sale | It’s done!

If this drags to the season start the Glazers might be in trouble. I think the fans are pissed of to the point were games being called off is a strong possibility

Not convinced due to the split on Qatar in/out. It would stop me attending a protest (and i've been to pretty much all of them).

People really should protest again and cause cancellation of game if this ain't done before opener

I'm afraid they ain't gonna sell at all

Enough people on here who are far more savvy about how sales of this magnitude work, have said that the Glazers have to sell. They can't afford to spend the money it will take to do what is needed. I have to agree with them. Unless the Glazers empty their own bank accounts and pump money into the club, then they have no option but to sell. They're not going to do it on the caf's preferred timeline, but they will sell. Keep the faith as we used to say.

They were always going to be here for the start of the season even after a deal is agreed it will take a few months for it to go through .
I mean more of if more of this absolute nothing on the front of sale. If things are just getting filed and all that paperwork jazz that's a different matter

Going to do what I did with the De Jong thread and put it in ignore for a few weeks. It's easier than trying to muster up enough self control to stop clicking on it

Nope. Unless those people have full access to the club's financials and a hotline to the Glazers themselves, what they are saying is worth less than nothing. No amount of financial savvy can change that. Which is why no one serious has put their name on the line and commented on the claim with any measure of certainty in the public domain. With no access to that information, any and all claims that the Glazers "have no other choice but to sell" are conjured up out of wishful thinking, blissful ignorance, and little else. No one knows anything.

This is not getting resolved anytime soon.

It’ll take months for the transfer of power when a bidder is selected. We aren’t even in that phase. Won’t be surprised if this drags onto next year.

Thanks mate, i am not a match going fan. For me the Glazers are the worst option, getting rid of them is the most important taka. Whoever takes Control will be a better owner

I wish we knew this with certainty.

Qatar don't know the sport. Ratcliffe feels like continuity Glazers. Granted, there'll be money there but not the nous to apply it correctly.

Nervous about the next move.

it adds up to me

they always take forever to make a decision, and that is what's happening

it's probably the biggest business decision of their lives

That bit is pretty much given. But these reports of them not being in contact with one or both parties since their bids is pretty significant in my opinion. There is no way anybody can convince me that it would be normal procedure to offer £5b for a business and not have any dialogue for weeks or months. If it's true then it is a strong indicator that they won't sell. Or they will only sell if somebody gets desperate (they won't now) and comes back with an even bigger offer.

It's a question of timescales. Yes they can hang on for a year or two but if they start to consistently miss top four then ETH leaves, players leave, we drift into 6th place and the club looses its attraction as a purchase. But that might be what happens.

Glazers need to sell. They have milked this cow to the last drop that they actually cannot take anything more out of it. The club needs major investment and they have allowed it to rot to such a state that they do not have the finances to fix it. They know this, but with Malcom dead, and silver spooned offspring that onlt see £ signs it will take some time.

This gonna be a disaster if they are still here come opener

Absolutely no chance it's concluded before then. We haven't even entered preferred bidder phase, let alone the Premier League tests.

I reckon we'll be due a few PR tidbits before the opening day to calm the situation but would not expect much serious movement until well into the season, if at all.

The ’clubs financials’ are in the public domain - they are a listed company so everybody has access to them. Bottom line is that Utd need a massive investment, think most people would agree on that too. So, given that the Glazer siblings have not invested a single penny of their own under their stewardship - where do you think this is most likely to go? Imo they are unlikely to dilute their shareholding by taking a minority investor, because their shares are the only value they have and a minority investor will want some of those shares, plus some say in how the club is run in the future. If they can’t afford, or are unwilling to invest their own money, then they need to get out - but only by getting the best price they can extract.

Am I mad to be thinking the last few weeks of silence since Qatar's last bid, is due to their lawyers thrashing out all the paperwork with the Raine Group and the sale is actually a lot further along than any of us think.

Wisful thinking...

Albums of 1975 include,

-Wish you were here. Pink Floyd
-Blood on the Tracks. Bob Dylan
-Crisis what crisis. SuperTramp
-Physical Graffiti. Led Zeppelin

Can't believe we sailed through the first five years of my life....Bolan....Bowie...and STILL the leeches are hanging on....if we get to the end of Bowie's Berlin period without a sale we will have lost the upcoming season.

No, this is perhaps what is happening to a degree I reckon. Don’t get me wrong I have the fear but it’s at that stage very few of us on these forums understand business wise and probably very few in the world properly understand with these sort of numbers, the fact is we’re all so emotionally involved it’s difficult to separate fact from fiction.

According to media outlets the parasites are now upping the transfer budget to £170 mill plus sales. Bittersweet news? Does this indicate they are staying?
One example

Feel like I phrased it wrong. Meant more as if there's still this deafening silence on any solution coming to the sale. If things are just getting filed and that whole stuff but the club has said so and so is the buyer that's diff

Kane it is.
More likely they might not be selling to September and they need to make sure the team has the best fighting chance of competing so they can get an even higher bid?
They will be using player sales and a credit card that incoming new owners will have to pay off later !

This is going to be like that scene in Wolf of Wall Street where he shouts "I'm not fecking leaving!" but instead of everyone cheering and going mental it'll just be a room of people crying and eating their own shit.
