My guy Nick Speed always knows what the people want to hear :D He's not been accurate at any point, but at least he's saying what I want to hear
So we’ve got Speedy Gonzales with a congratulations phone call, some Twitter guy yesterday saying that the staff at the club are preparing voice recordings and video recordings to say goodbye to the Glazers and even Goldbridge saying he doesn’t care what happens with the takeover.

Conclusion - Same Shit …..Different Day!

Yeah, but it's New York, where all the shares are being kept in a box. He's gone to get them.

Back to Qatar, carrying a big bag of shares. It stands to reason. If you're going to spend Billions on some shares, you'd hardly trust the Glazers to mail them to you. Feckers would send them via Yodel, they'd not turn up for months until mysteriously one day they'd be hoofed over the palace wall and land in pond. Then where would we be. Of course he's sending his Dad's plane to pick them up. He's not an amateur.

Very good

Ok you only clear the debt if you agree to buy 10

Sorry, what?

Is "Sir James Arthur Ratcliffe FIChemE" a new Caf meme or is it an auto-correct like "YAWN" and "Ole ole ole I love you"?

I've asked why that's coming up too.

I really don’t believe that the bidders have not had any feedback since the final bids went in. So somebody drops a 6Bn bid on the table - and you say nothing for weeks? Just doesn’t make sense!

I don't believe it for a second, absolute nonsense. So in the last 8 months or whatever they've only communicated 4 /5 times. Yeah ok.:wenger:

Never mind about that. Why haven’t those journos asked him about what people really want to know: what he thinks about being given the nickname The Rat as a 70 year old man.

He’ll need more than that if he’s only bid for 51% at £3bn, if as reported SJ actually did bid closer to £6bn he’ll need to beat that bid and Then Qatar will go higher, the whole thing for them is already incredibly embarrassing, they could just about accept the Glazers not selling but I highly doubt they will want to beaten by INEOS and Jim when local media outlets have already lied and said it’s only a matter of hours now until they complete the purchase, the whole thing is becoming incredibly embarrassing for SJ, his father and Qatari State.

I'm pretty sure SJR put more than £3b on the table initially no? Didn't he offer around £5b for 69%?

Are we saying Ineos hasn’t got £2b liquid to get the deal over the line?
Doubt they’ve got anything like that. Frackcliffe was already bidding with borrowed money for a majority share. Shopping around for more loans to see if he can borrow enough to buy 100%. Bonkers he’s still in the game imo. If he wins we are not getting the much needed investment desperately required. Personally I’m not that enamoured with the other bid - but of the two I want Qatar and an improved OT, Women’s squad and updated Carrington.

No. The offer was at corporate value. So he offered 5B or whatever as corporate value, but considering that he is buying only 51% of the club, he essentially is paying 2.5B or whatever is the 51% of the corporate value’s offer.

Great, even more debt. If he loves the club so much why not sell off some of his Ineos shares and buy the club that way?

His money is probably better off in Ineos shares right now and also makes him a more attractive person for banks to lend to so there's no reason for him to do so.

Anything interesting happened the last couple of weeks then?

I don't think so. It seems to be the normal process of guesswork, wishful thinking and amateur detective work that populates the transfer threads.

I normally ignore these things and then read about the ins and outs of them afterwards.

Direct quotes from Ratcliffe* "We are still in it"

Redcafe "He's giving up"

*Allegedly. It is The Sun.

So all the reports after the first round of bidding were false saying he initially made two offers, one for 69%?

Any theories on why he's broken his silence?

Direct challenge to the FT guy earlier who said not to believe anything on Twitter (solid advice tbh) or that he's sick and tired of some bellend called Nick Speed chatting shit and he's ready to do some banging

Is this the first time we've had any direct quotes on the takeover from any of the bidders, and not a spokesperson or the legendary nearby source?
