Club Sale | It’s done!

8 days until the AGM

Surely there will be enough questions or something concrete to come out at this time?

The Class A shareholders are invited so surely some will demand to know wtf is going on?

Feck me we need some clarity before another week has passed. Even if it's Joel Glazer and his pet stooge just fecking announce it

Isn't that an analysis, rather than an exclusive that says definitively that jassim is in the lead, and wasn't the exclusive penned by the chief of their mergers and acquisitions team rather than two other writers?

I was told they don't speculate or comment on general sports stories when I asked the reliability of Reuters. When I googled them I found that they do actually comment on general sports. I also noticed that they always preface much of what they say with "according to sources", much like every other media outlet which should be took with a pinch of salt.

Joke of a club. This is the glazers last present for us! Making us screw over in the transfer window

I need something to happen. Either a club sale update or a signing. 2 weeks without anything United related and I’m itching over here.

It is now not hard to imagine a scenario, where the manager walks because his plans are left in the wilderness, ETH is an ambitious coach, who will not want to be messed around by the glazers, he was messed around in the winter window, and it looks like the same thing will happen in the summer window, Imagine ETH resigns, and the glazers are still pissing about come the first game of the season, I wonder what the happy clappers would be thinking then..

Here you go, buddy. This should perk you up…

Mate of mine works at the club and has been told takeover is being completed by Qatar and will be leaked tonight, announced tomorrow.

The absolute silence is staggering after last week.

Makes me wonder that the “sources” people were relying on (I’m looking at you Rio, Reuters etc) have had a firm slap on the wrists and a telling off from Raine so now everyone is keeping absolute shtum.

Nothing is getting out. Nothing is getting leaked. Nothing is getting reported.

Nah, be fair.

There’re a decent number of anti-Jassims that are stating they’ll no longer follow the club if he takes over.

It’s not the same with anti-Rats. You’re not getting that response because it’s not a really a moral stance for most.

Myself, Berbaclass etc have been fervently Jassim buy have always said if Ratcliffe wins we’ll hope for the best. Whereas you’ve got long term posters and even mods saying ‘that’ll be it for me I think’ if Jassim takes over.

Look at Wumminator’s literal ‘moral’ crusade the other night. It’s about morals for these / you people and thus it’s obviously gonna have a more demonstrative reaction.

I’m not criticising that btw, I respect it, though I disagree.

I'm not one to dig through post histories as in truth, I'm to lazy but I suspect if I did, I would find posts from yourself and Berba implying Ratcliffe would destroy the club or, at least continue the work of the Glazers which is basically the same thing.

Some have said they would walk away and fair enough. The more common view has been to reduce their interest in the club and game in general. Basically becoming disillusioned. I'd put myself in that category, though I would still follow the club. There have been some more extreme views of course, such preferring the club to be relegated or even keep the Glazers over the Qataris.

My biggest concern with Qatar is some future global issue causing a problem similar to the Chelsea situation. Though that's far less likely to happen with Qatar than say, Saudi Arabia who seem to think holding the world to ransom with the price of oil will always go down without a reaction. Qatar have been smart in stepping up to fill a hole.

The fecking parasites will drag the club into august holding ETH back with their uncertainty and indecisiveness. Spineless bunch.

At this point anyone but Glazers. Probably slightly edging towards Ratcliffe, but both bids have a lot of obvious and completely different problems.

May I ask why you feel that Ratcliffe is a little bit better? Especially since you are saying anyone but Glazers? With Ratcliffe you are really getting humped by the Glazers.

I'd take a shite window, as long as Qatar take us over and ETH stays. Long term united can fix the mess, Glazers and the circus needs to leave town, end! For the sanity of everyone.

Not fully related but for those that say Glazers can just keep borrowing. The junk (low quality or otherwise higher risk) market for borrowing in the US is not doing well.

That's where United would look to borrow money, so unless we get bought with hard cash and that same cash can finance our new ventures, it'll be a long way back financially to the top, if at all.

One thing COVID showed is that the Premier League is one of the few products immune from economic crisis. Given a good chunk of shirt term future income is basically guaranteed thanks to TV deals, there will always be finance available.

We also had the most successful period under their ownership during the last global recession, where I seem to recall some of the rates we were paying were massive. The current economic downturn won't even make them flinch unfortunately.

This is the correct view. Although it would have been avoidable, this window potentially being screwed up will only look like a speed bump in hindsight.

You'd think it's fair to say that if we don't hear anything about the Glazers staying in some way fairly soon then this is an unlikely outcome.

Now, in the wilderness of a few weeks after the season has ended and several week before it starts is the ideal time to get this news out there, so it could in a way actually be quite good news that we are hearing nothing right now.
This is just a hunch, but my belief is that the next meaningful and credible news/update released will be the announcement of an agreement with 92F.

Is that even reliable?

That account has over 200k followers and awful engagement on every single tweet.

Apparently it is a daily newspaper based in Nice. Tbh though I dno, would a paper in Nice know anything more just because Jim owns a team there?

Lads / Ladettes / Berbaclass, Let’s wait and see how this pans out in the U.S / UK press tomorrow.

We’ve been here too many times.

Ben Jacobs will be up all night greedily guzzling gallons of water to prepare for another round of pissing all over our fireworks.

I watched his appearance on today's Stretford Paddock and he seemed to make a lot of sense.

While I don't know if I believe the report, certainly I can't see both bidders staying in the process for another 2 months waiting for the Glazers they both likely recognise that getting a transfer window in is important.

He’s a complete chancer, Raoul.

He’s made an artform this whole saga of popping up and attaching himself to the story without EVER giving ANY actual info…

I’m not saying he’s an idiot, and he obviously spends time reading up contract legal details etc so that he can try and offer some amount of authority on the subject.

But really, he’s a chancer who’s getting clicks and giving nothing.

He has no more insight than Goldbridge, who at least some kind of comedic value with how laughable he is.

I don't know that much about the guy. But from what I saw during his interview, he seems to be reading the situation with a bit more caution than many, which is how journalists should be doing it. Just because he isn't fully bought in on the recent Qatar herd behavior, doesn't mean he's pro or anti one side or the other.

I thought he was doing a lot of talking about hypotheticals and guessing what might be happening without actually having any info
