I don't get the NFL angle myself. There's no audience in Qatar so what's the possible benefits. BEIN sports would still carry the games regardless as they have a wider audience than just Qatar but from a Glazer POV, what can they gain from being offered games in Qatar?

He did improve his full Glazer buyout bid twice. It was only at the 3rd bid the alternative bid was also put forward but he's made at least 2 bids for 69% though I'm sure it was 3, but the news of the offer to allow the two Glazers to stay was significant enough that the 3rd bid was largely forgotten.
There is the audience though, the point is to attract tourists which is why the Middle East now has tons of sporting events. There’s little domestic support for things like boxing, UFC, golf etc but people from all over the world fly in to watch. It’s also a way of getting something little in return for the Qataris rather than handing over a wad of cash.

Due to the very clever distancing from Naseer Al Khelafi, it would be almost impossible to prove this was a Qatar state bid, with Jassim Father worth at least 20 times the actual bid, he can quite easily say I gave my son the money to invest with, he’s so influential in British politics and commerce, the EPl May raise concerns but right now with City 115 FFP breaches, they have more pressing matters and would not prevent this going through, SJR might be told by UEFA that only one team of his could enter Europe as United could start CL and Nice Europa but united be relegated to Europa at winter so that’s a no go too!

I think it was always going to be Qatar. My guess is that the Glazer rats are trying to bait Jassim into bidding more money by "look, we're selling any moment to Sir Jim who is giving us these amazing offers... if you dont bid more"

If he had to up his offer, I'm pretty confident he would. The Times article from a few weeks ago also states that he hasn't been required to bid for all the Glazer shares.
At this point in his life, considering his wealth and age, and the money his company makes, I don't see him not committing a bit more money towards what I suppose is a big dream of his: to own his boyhood club and create a long-lasting legacy by taking us back to the top.
It doesn't work like that. You don't pay a single owner to get them to play in your country, it's a socialized league not only the revenues are shared but the schedules are also dictated by the NFL
The NFL doesn't have or allow overseas preseason games which are scheduled by the NFL not individual teams, players aren't allowed to play or even train full contact until a certain point in the preseason and their numbers are limited.
The point being that it would be more than surprising if such deal was made because it would mean that the deal has been done with NFL and the NFLPA.
It suggests to me that Inesos has been leading which is why they haven't increased their bid. If they are now told Qatar is leading, then Ineos will get the opportunity to up their bid too.
I'm not a fan of American Football. I once permanently borrowed madden 2000 from Blockbuster but that's the extent of my NFL support. Is there a demand in Qatar? Even with the world cup on their doorstep, there were reports about the locals not being as interested as the organisers hoped so I'm skeptical NHL has enough appeal to tip the balance.
Maybe we are getting it all wrong and it's not Tampa Bay Buccaneers that may find an audience in Qatar and the wider middle east, but I recall the Glazers having some involvement in the new cricket League, which would have a wider appeal in the middle east.

Radcliffe is symptomatic of a much more prevalent 'antisocial' tendency, in British , hardline/rw Tory-supporting enterprises (fixed and financial), compared to mainland European countries on the whole (hardly bastions of 'Marxism') and buying the club as a bauble/vanity item and weighing it potentially with more debt hardly dispels that, though we'll see how things shake out.
