How can a Board vote force someone to sell their shares?
There's a lot of chat about Succession on here but this is the exact case where it can happen. The board of directors can sell the public company with a majority vote.

Usual BS from so called sources who’re nowhere near those who makes the final decision.

Do we really think that SJR and SJ will accept to be treated like unwelcome child when they have put a bid of £5B on the table? This deal will be announced latest a week after the the season is over because the option to reject so much cash would be the stupidest financial decision someone ever made.

Absolute garbage, in terms of news. It is obvious they are delaying it. There will have to come to a crunch point when they have to make a decision. Raine should be exercising their financial"expertise" and advising them to do so. Everything we are being given is just vague!

We are getting to the walk away stage now. Won't be long

This guy knows absolutely nothing and you're all lapping it up  Read his tweet ffs, who within MUFC are Joel and Avram coming to an agree with?! Absolute horseshit, just a journalist trying to get clicks as they've nothing else to write about.

Edit: also says everyone will have clarity at the end of season, so just next week?

The City treble is so joyless and empty I'm not sure I want to copy that model anyway. Maybe it doesn't matter who buys the club anyway so long as somebody does. I partly feel the Glazers only want to stick around to inhibit the outpouring of hatred for them from players and football insiders once they are gone.

At this point these parasites are trolling us at elite levels - they know how detrimental this delay is but won't cash out until their greed is met either way by the potential buyers.

Unless done soon can't see it happening.

Can only pray at this stage that Jassim wins out. I couldn’t stomach the Rats having any association with this club going forward. All they do is hold the club back. Parasites of the highest order

We wouldn’t be following the same model though. Take away the debt that these absolute parasites have put on the club and we can go toe to toe financially with any club on the planet without any flnancial doping being necessary.

That is what I want more than any other element. Not to hear anything about these owners and NYSE and just concentrate on implementing a system that benefits the youth, scouting, and the first and female teams. Also, getting the stadium and training facilities to a standard to be proud of.

We have been used to extract financial rewards whether it is the dividends being taken out to overblown salaries to players and even the severance packages to managers who were never right.

It is time for a new ownership to come forth and start putting fans and football first!

There's a presumption in your post that City aren't feeding dirty money into the system to grease their already dominant legal operation. Their actual spend is, I think, a lot higher. Fake sponsorships. Dodgy agent payments. It's what you'd expect from a Gulf state.

Qatar has openly stated their intention to invest in a Premier league team. If the Glazers jump into bed with Ratcliffe it should be no suprise to anyone if Qatar pumps money into the likes of Spurs or West Ham who will be far cheaper, have modern stadiums and are based in London.

Jassim will be able to rename his foundation to the Sixty6 foundation in honour of West Ham's world cup win.

Plus there's loads of ready made people for the important jobs at West Ham like Danny Dyer as Executive Cant, Ray Winston as Chief Cant and Mark Noble... Well, he's just a cant but makes a banging cress butty.

This is why the Glazers (or two of them) staying is a non-starter for me.

Even if Ratcliffe has the majority, they'll probably still want a stake and some kind of voice, even if not the final say.

Keeping the people that literally have brought the club to its knees should be a ln automatic non-starter for any United fan but apparently it's all good if Jimmy Brexit has control and the Glazer duo of cnuts get to stay.

Jimmy Brexit is better than Jazzy Dictator.

The only positive is that Jassim is a truly United fan. Hence most articles about buying West Ham, Spurs, Liverfool feels far away. If I had the money to buy Brentford I would never do it cuz I didn´t want the possibility to hurt United.

I agree with you on that. After what they’ve done to the club, I can’t imagine how anyone could be ok with these people even owning 0.0001% of United. And I don’t even think that the Qataris would be the ideal owners but for now it’s the only viable option.

Nobody wants them around in any capacity. Nobody. You think even Ratcliffe wants them around?

I don’t understand what is so difficult for you all to understand - the problem is what if Joel and Avram are dead set on not leaving and so the only option to wrestle any kind of control from them is to offer them a deal where they stay in some capacity, even if its just monetary shares.

You’re all acting like SJR is holding back Qatar from already owning the club but the reality is SJR is offering a deal he knows might be the only way to make the Glazers sell, because the Qataris clearly aren’t blowing the Glazers minds.

You all really need to start thinking with your brains because this Qatar offer really has you spaced out. Why on gods green earth would SJR want the Glazers around in any capacity, you all say he is a rat but what is actually more likely going on is without SJR there might not be any damn sale to anybody but a minority investment because they very obviously do not want to leave

Be it SJR or Qatar at this point, rather than fighting about who it should be we should be praying that the Glazers accept either of them at this point because the longer this goes on the more grim the outlook seems.

My fear is that if any of the Glazer’s stay on we might kiss goodbye to stadium and Carrington renovation. Not to mention the current debt will stay on the books. They have shown no interest in investing in the infrastructure since they’ve been here - I can see no reason that will change if they hang around.

There’s like 3 other siblings besides Joel and Avram who own equal shares

The other Glazer siblings. They desperately want to sell. Joel and Avram reportedly do not.

If they are left with 20% or less of the shares (as seems likely in any takeover scenario), they won't have much say about whether infrastructure investments happen or not (although they will certainly be in favour of them happening, as it might increase the value of their remaining shares).

If they maintain their majority position (ie the status quo) then Old Trafford and Carrington will unfortunately remain largely untouched.

The only way the Ineos majority share plus 2 Glazer’s remaining works, is if the remaining Glazer’s keep their class B shares, as that’s where the value is. Yes, that means they can be outvoted by SJR, but it also means they will need to contribute their fair share to any investment In the future that Ineos may demand. For that reason alone I can’t see this flying. They might be in favour of investment happening, but not if they have to put their hands in their pockets. SJR is not going to fund all investment on his own whilst they are still on board. If he does he’s bonkers.

Probably why he wants West Ham, the cockney United.

Still cannot fathom why they don't get it. If they are determined to stay, there is nothing anyone can do to force them out. So you need someone who is able to think outside the box.

Imagine Ratcliffe wasn't involved and it was just Qatar. They make the same offers as they have done but in the end, Joel and Avram Glazer decide not to sell and the deal falls through because Qatar refuse to budge on a full purchase.

Qatar walk away and buy Wigan Athletic, we remain under the ownership of the Glazers.

Nightmarish.

I couldn’t care less what Ratcliff wants. Them staying in any capacity is a non-starter for me, and a lot of us will keep saying it whether anybody wants to hear it or not.

If they want to stay, they will stay. Why can't some people understand that?

We hear you, loud and clear.

We also have visions of you with tiny little pro Glazer flags, those triangle things, waving them furiously.

You're just bragging about having lost all objectivity here, really.
