Not sure about apologists, there's no denying they've overseen the decline. But people who relentlessly clung to the "no money" narrative even when we were spending like a coked-up Bullingdon Club inbred toff with Daddy's credit card did more to obfuscate the issue than anyone else. Because that line of attack that drowned out everything else was never, ever true.

If anything Glazers got away with murder simply because that false narrative dominanted the discourse from day one.

The Glazers are testing the resolve of INEOS/QATAR, the final price one or either decide to pay, must in terms of the Glazer's 'playbook', have not yet been reached.
We all know why Glazer's bought United and why they are selling, its all about profit, what is not clear is why either INEOS or QATAR want to buy United, or what levels they are prepared to go to?
This will roll on, unfortunately, if ETH had any hair he'd be tearing it out!

The heirs to a prime asset that was the jewel of their father’s fortune do everything in their power to prevent the sale of the asset via passive aggressive tactics…is it the plot of this season of Succession or Glazer family drama?

Imagine if your Dad essentially left your family 5 billion quid, and then being like, ‘awww I want a bit more!’…

Good old dad sued his sisters for his parents money when his mum died. All the money was used up in legal costs so none went to the sisters in the end

Actually he left them with more then just manchester united. For example they own tampa Bay bucs as well

Agreed. There was plenty to criticise the Glazers for and still is, but all the fans over the last decade who parroted the line that they didn't spend enough on the playing squad were letting them off the hook. It patently wasn't true and helped drown out more complex (and legitimate) criticisms like lack of investment in infrastructure and allowing Woodward to continuously fail in his role.

If there's any logic to this saga they will surely look to announce a sale of the club soon or at least a preferred bidder in order to not have to spend in the upcoming transfer window, we must approaching the end game.

We will spend what we are allowed to under the current rules, irrespective. They have 2 confirmed bids on the table - so they will let us spend what we can. It’s not their money we will be spending.

If there's any logic in this saga it must mean that the Glazers have one last feck you to the fans that they've been making miserable with regards to their ownership for 18 years, which is delaying this to the point where the summer window is absolutely ruined.

City doing the treble is the ultimate end to the story of how theyve wrecked the club. Mission accomplished

This.

It’s so fitting. Such a perfect symbol for what they’ve overseen, just sitting watching while just across Manchester in some dinky little stadium with basically no global fanbase a plastic club overtakes them in literally every area until the treble is achieved - albeit through cheating.

The Glazers are a fecking pathetic excuse of an ownership and the media should be properly taking them to task for ruining the biggest club in the country.

They’re just a disgrace. A complete and utter disgrace.

They should be chased out of Wembley. And if it carries on like this… I wouldn’t be surprised if they are.

They will take as long as it takes to get maximum value. They mentioned something very interesting in the Totally Football Podcast this week.

People are comparing this to the Chelsea sale but this is totally different. For Chelsea, they had a hard deadline i.e., the day Roman was going to be sanctioned in the UK. That's why people were bidding in good faith knowing that they will lose their opportunity if it doesn't satisfy the sellers.

In our case, the problem is that despite how much the Glazers want to see a final bid, the buyers know that there is no real deadline. So they will continue to make incremental bids instead of just stating their final number in the hope that they don't overpay.

We need to get our popcorns and sodas out for this one.

Just noticed Spuds' stadium has Ineos Grenadier as sponsors for the bench seats. Jimmy Brexit really loves his football

Hopeful that they will be gone soon because you get the impression that the Glazers look forward to transfer windows like turkeys look forward to Christmas.

How did Ratcliffe manage to get his net worth from £11bn last year to £29bn this year? Figures from the Sunday times rich list

He’s a Tory so presumably he simply stopped having avocado on toast and saw his income rise almost immediately

Also, as a staunch Brexiteer he will have no doubt reaped the awesome financial rewards that we all have from the Brexit he helped happen.

For all the complaints about Jim being a Tory - has anyone posted Corbyn’s recent video asking for an end to state owned football clubs with images of United in the background?

I won't be surprised if he supported them during his shift between United and Chelsea. It's called the white period which succeeded the red period and preceded the blue period.

I don’t see how the minority investment was ever anything more than a tactic to get Qatar and Ratcliffe to up their bids as the Glazer’s can’t sustain United as shown over the last few years and minority investment wouldn’t fix the problems, no minority investor is going to come in and throw a load of money into the club then allow the parasites to continue running things as that’d be no different to simply setting their cash on fire.

If anything they’re simply trying to squeeze every last penny out of Qatar and Ratcliffe as this is a once in a lifetime deal that could potentially net them all $1 billion each even if they don’t deserve a fecking penny after rinsing the club since they all came along.

From the breakdown in the bids that I saw someone post in here there’s barely over £100 million between the bids so I think as soon as Qatar match the figure Ratcliffe has this’ll be done as that’ll be paid in one lump rather than over 3-4 years and only potential value based on share prices at that time, it’s a stall tactic to extract that last bit from Qatar.

Will Qatar match that figure is the question

Surely it doesn’t take this long to put improved bids in. You literally just need to click the plus icon or select a figure from a drop down menu, it’s not hard.

surely no one is believing the propaganda

Who cares. He’s not buying it personally, it’s being bought through Ineos. Although if you want to go down that road, 11 billion is still far higher than Jassim and his daddy.

You've got to conclude that they are going to hold off with any real news until after our last game at Old Trafford now.
