fecking hell
Yeah just when you think we have heard the last of minority investment Ornstein pops up
fecking hell
"I am fully convinced that we will be innocent," Guardiola responded when asked.
"Since Abu Dhabi took over the club, it has been like that since day one."
What was his dad's role?I've no idea why anyone would try to claim that Man City isn't a state club.
Their owner, Sheikh Mansour, is the current vice president of the UAE, his brother is the president. Really couldn't be much clearer.
Newcastle are also a state club - owned by the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Jassim does not hold any government role in Qatar and never has. His father has TBF but left that role 10yrs ago.
Imagine this going on much longer, only for Ratcliffe to win and still keep the Glazers on board.
Though to think of it, how many times have the Glazers decided to hold back investment in the transfer market, only to give in and spend close to deadline day. Last season comes to mind with Casemiro following the Brentford hammering.
prime ministerWhat was his dad's role?
Sounds like the kinda man who has some strong connections to the state. Perhaps even strong enough that if he wanted to help his son buy a football club, some money would be sent his way to help facilitate it.prime minister
edit - was just looking at his wikipedia and saw this
In June 2022, The Times reported that between 2011 and 2015 Prince Charles accepted €3 million in cash from Hamad.[33] The funds were said to be in the form of €500 notes, handed over in person in three tranches, in a suitcase, holdall and Fortnum & Mason carrier bags.[33][34] Charles' meetings with Hamad did not appear in the Court Circular.[33] Coutts collected the cash and each payment was deposited into the accounts of The Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund.[34] A Clarence House spokesperson stated that the appropriate covenants were carried out, and it was the "donor's choice" to make the donations in cash, after which the trustees "discussed the governance and donor relationship" and the auditors "signed off on the donation after a specific enquiry during the audit".[34] There is no evidence that the payments were illegal or that it was not intended for the money to go to the charity.[34] The Charity Commission for England and Wales announced they would review the information and determine if "there is any role for the Commission in this matter".[35]
It would be irritating, but the transfer window is not the most important thing - getting rid of the Glazers is the most important thing. Even if it takes until September, it will be worth it if they are gone.

I've heard the Charles story a few times but never the €500 notes detail before. I can't say I even knew such existed.
I don't think he is. Not rich enough to spend a good few billion on purchasing and then further investing in a football club.Except he doesn't need any help because he's one of the richest men in the world
What I fail to understand is, if they are playing in Ligue 1, isn't Nice playing there too? If they are any good, why are they 10th? There are 8 other clubs between Psg and Nice, that don't have Psg sort of money.
Are the investments by SJR so poor?
It truly is amazing what the Glazers have done to the Caf and their hatred of debt. Does anyone here have a mortgage on their house?
Ratcliffe or Qatar will have enough money to invest in the club in many ways post takeover. We just need those stains gone.
What on earth are you all on about?
There are antiGlazer banners at Old Trafford every match
Yes we have mortgages but not interest only ones. I certainly change the boiler , maintained the roof in fact i replaced it 2 years ago.. Did the extension thing and new double glazing and had the driveway landscape. It really helped with my valuation. The guy across the road hasn't done anything in 15 years probably worth half of what mine is. This is the actual situation but kinda relevant.
Fecking up this transfer window would be a typical Glazer move. A parting gift, a final feck you before fecking off.

Quick question don’t know if anyone can answer this but if the new owner comes in and clears the debt would that make it possible, under FFP rules, to spend more money in the transfer window?
I guess that’s next season fecked. Let’s just get rid of the scum .
Always feels good to know your club is fecked for next season when the current season hasn’t even ended. A Man Utd special.
I can see why our transfers take so long now. Glazers can’t make up their mind on anything.
Yeah, I know the rules have been tightened but I was intrigued to know if the debt was cleared will that give us great freedom to sign players and would that still be applicable if the debt was “moved” onto Ineos books like SJR is supposedly planning?Well only need to look at Newcastle spending to see FFP regulations (City apart) are getting much tighter. Howe even references it when talking about transfers which is telling
It’s so nice from everybody that we repeat everything every 50 pages or so, nobody can miss anything that way.
Well the notion that SJR is skint, the pauper in this takeover or doesn’t have the money will soon be squashed when people read the new Times 2023 Rich list, he’s estimated worth is now more than the Abu Dhabi owner of Man City Sheikh Mansour at £29.68 billion, so those fans of SJ and Qatar may now rethink that he doesn’t have the money, if he wants he can easily bid 69% of £5.5bn and build a big stadium for £1bn and still have £25 billion left.
The irony is he may actually want to spend more money on the club just to see it restored before he passes the torch on.

Its pretty much like playing Takeover Bingo. The virtue signalling brigade will harp on about the evils of Qatar, whilst viewing the Caf on a device that's components have been mined using child labour in DR Congo. They also have the arrogance to think their worldview should be the same for everyone, ignoring the fact a lot of people have different social values and that it doesn't align with their own when it comes to certain topics.
No doubt he is a brilliant businessman and no doubt he and his company will become even wealthier, they seem to be doing a multi billion pound deal every few weeks. He is self made and genius level, if he and his company were a further 5 years down their growth road they would be unquestionably ahead in my opinion. However at this point they are not and have chosen to borrow heavily whilst leveraging their assets. Does Jim or our fan base have the ability to wait another 5 years? Either way much better than what we have now.Well the notion that SJR is skint, the pauper in this takeover or doesn’t have the money will soon be squashed when people read the new Times 2023 Rich list, he’s estimated worth is now more than the Abu Dhabi owner of Man City Sheikh Mansour at £29.68 billion, so those fans of SJ and Qatar may now rethink that he doesn’t have the money, if he wants he can easily bid 69% of £5.5bn and build a big stadium for £1bn and still have £25 billion left.

According to Caf sources, it's a state bid. According to the same sources, it's not a state bid because they are not willing to go to the Glazers' number.
From day 1 right until the very end, these bastards continue to destroy our club. It wasn't my first choice when they first talked about selling but I've got everything crossed for the Sheikh! We need no Glazer anywhere near this club moving forwards and I genuinely believe the Sheikh will invest in a lot more than the playing squad. If this isn't resolved soon our summer is done for!
Haha, so trueAccording to Caf sources, it's a state bid. According to the same sources, it's not a state bid because they are not willing to go to the Glazers' number.
They can. Being private property they have the right to refuse entry/eject anyone for any reason as long as they don't discriminate against anyone that falls within a protected characteristic status. So they could say "no banners or you're out" and legally, you'd be fecked.Whether or not they can legally try and stop it. Far as I'm aware they can, they just don't.
